Reports - Adjust column width
Would be useful to be able to narrow column width, especially when decimals are removed and more months are required on 1 page. Similar to Excel, where we can change width and height of rows or columns.
Thank you for all your support on this idea and for sharing how the option to adjust the column width on your reports would be beneficial. We understand that in some reports the inability to adjust the column size could result in extra white space or longer entries not being fully displayed.
This idea has been reviewed by the Product team and has been moved to the ‘Accepted’ status. This reflects that this idea is not currently on our roadmap but it is a suggestion we will continue to monitor when looking at how we develop our reports.

Being able to control the column width, helps stop Xero turning a one page report into a landscape multi page report. This is critical to look professional for board reporting. There also seems to be a problem with excess spacing between columns??.
Having this functionality is also important for audit/reliability. Excel reports can be "edited" by users. Reports "straight from Xero", no not have this perception problem.
Can we also have as an option:
1 - a vertical line please to separate sections of reports. One example might be the old report where you could easily see two column sections 1/ this month actual vs budget and 2/ section ytd actual vs budget.
2- date and time printed
These might seem trivial but speedy readability is very important for board members. Thank you. -

The reports currently look very unprofessional. This would be a huge benefit to be able to do this.

Reports
eg - Account Transactions - where you might have transactions with longish
Descriptions, you want to select extra columns and the Report tries to fit in the space provided (which is great but it means that some columns eg Date will 'wrap' so that only about half a dozen transaction rows are show in the screen instead of about 12 - for want of a slightly widened Date (or other) column.
eg - P&L - Current financial year by month. I have to scroll across to see Year To date totals, even when I have deselected Decimals which means the Month columns do not need to be as wide. -

I agree with Glenn! It is difficult to understand how such software as Xero in 2023 is not able to do such a simple thing.
- In reports some columns take up too much width (eg when decimals are removed and the values are not large) and some columns are way too narrow eg Description when you have Payment: and a long named Supplier, or extra detail in the Description narrative wrapping to 2 or 3 lines. Anything over 35 characters wraps for me. -

When the statements are shared from Xero, the reference is cut/incomplete.

Reports have crazy white space and other squashed columns. Pointless & client is wondering why they ever started on Xero, with this added to other issues with the software.
Another time consuming workaround is using Excel of curse, but hey, at least the reports are beautiful!

Annual Reports are full of white space because the Notes column is way too wide. Reports look unprofessional.

The report is worthless if I cannot identify each item easily. Whilst I can manually edit this, it defeats the purpose if the data is not reported directly from the file.

It defies the point why i joined XERO. It was to make my accounting and reporting easier. I really hope Xero can provide a solution ASAP.

Account Transactions Report - I use this report frequently and it's extremely annoying that items are missing from the printed version and margins cannot be adjusted. Any advice welcomed

Ability resize columns in reporting to be narrower or wider.
Purpose: To make the report easier to read, and can be printed nicer.
