  1. It would be great to have the option to present all reports in month-by-month format. It is possible with P&L and cash summary reports using the compare to function, but impossible for payroll reports. Thinking this could be really useful for STP finalisations and payroll reconciliations.

Hi Jess, thanks for highlighting this improvement.

We can see how a monthly breakdown (or comparison) within payroll reports could make it easier to review trends, compare payroll costs across reporting periods, and support management reporting.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this is a feature you'd like to see, please keep voting and share how a monthly breakdown would support your reporting workflow.

  3. Currently when you go to Journals, there are 25 journals showing. I have to constantly change this to 50 or 100 to view journals.
Can this default be changed to say 100?

  4. When running the account transactions for a nominal ledger, have a quick filter option for 'Account types' as shown in the Chart of Accounts (Revenue, Fixed Assets, Direct Costs etc.)

When running the nominal reports for P&L codes I have to manually select/ deselect codes.

  5. It would be helpful to have a check box for each section of the tax return that marks it as completed so you know what is done and what still needs to be done.

We find that we have to continually go back and check which sections are completed and which are not which can be time consuming, especially if you are working on multiple tax returns at once or if you are going between tax returns waiting on information from clients. An overview of some sort or a check mark beside each schedule would be very helpful.

Thanks for sharing this idea, I can see how a clear way to track which sections of a tax return have been completed would be especially helpful when you're working across multiple returns or waiting on client information.

We've moved your idea to Gaining Support so we can gauge community interest and better understand how many others would find this helpful in their workflow.

If this would make a meaningful difference for you, it would be great to hear more about which schedules or stages are the hardest to keep track of today.

  6. One of the key steps in preparing client financials is to ensure accounts, especially newly added ones, are assigned to the correct report code. I had the favourited on every client in the old navigation for quick access as it's something I need almost every time. It'd like that back.

Great to get your feedback here, Chris. It'll be good for us to get a sense of interest from others in community that also found this Favouriting of Advanced Account settings useful.

We're keeping a close eye on the interest and will share if there are any updates for you here.

  7. Please can advisers have a more in depth way to search for a particular change. The history & notes filters need an "edited date range" and a filter to search in a particular area e.g. "Bank", "Bills" Invoices"

    e.g. for context:
    Scenario:
Bank was fully reconciled after a conversion to Xero and remained so up to the end of November 2025 with reconciliation report printed. i.e. at the beginning of December 2025 the November 2025 bank reconciliation fully balanced and matched to the bank statement.

During January 2026, December 2025 processing was being finalised and it was discovered that the…

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea and outlining your use case. We understand you’re looking for an easier way to search through History & Notes when reviewing changes or investigating balance differences.

The suggestion is to add more advanced filtering options, such as date ranges or transaction types, to help narrow down specific changes without manually reviewing the full history.

For now, reports like the Bank Reconciliation Summary and Journal Report can help investigate adjustments and changes. We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand the value of improving History & Notes search.

  8. New Tracking Report has no summary option - the existing summary option will be retired in November meaning more work will be involved in manually working out the summary balance for each tracked item. Please give a summary option similar to "old" report that is being retired.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on the new Tracking Report. We appreciate you sharing how important summary and grouping functionality is for your workflows.

We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

  9. Please launch Xero in Sweden. I use Xero for a large UK company and find it far better than the Swedish accounting systems I use for several Swedish companies. The difference in usability, reporting and integrations is huge.

I know many Swedish businesses and accountants that would switch if Xero properly supported Sweden, including Swedish VAT, the BAS chart of accounts, bank feeds and local reporting requirements.

There is no need to localise the interface into Swedish. English is widely used in Swedish business, and many people actually prefer English for software.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Carl. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on having a Swedish version of Xero🙂.

This idea is now open for votes and comments. Feel free to share it with friends and colleagues who’d also like to see this, as their feedback can help us understand the level of interest from the community.

We’ll keep a pulse on the interest this idea receives and share if there are any updates here.

  10. The Section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006 statement ("the directors have chosen to not file a copy of the company’s profit and loss account under section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006")appears on the Balance Sheet in the full accounts. This statement should only be in the abridged accounts for Companies House, The only workaround is to manually edit the pdf, which requires pdf software and takes time. This needs to be amended.

Thanks for sharing your feedback, Keith. We appreciate how having the Section 444(5A) statement appear only where it's applicable could make reporting more accurate and reduce the need for manual adjustments.

We've updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community support and sharing your feedback with the team.

  11. The suggestion is to remove merged cells from the Activity Statement Excel export.

Currently, the Activity Statement export contains merged cells in the headings, which makes the spreadsheet more difficult to manipulate, analyse and work with in Excel. Users need to manually unmerge and reformat the cells before they can easily use the exported data.

Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to raise this idea ✨ We really appreciate you sharing how merged cells make Activity Statement Excel exports harder to work with.

Your idea is now open for community support through votes and comments. Other community members can add their vote and share how this would help them too. Their feedback will help us understand the level of community interest and the impact this has across customers, which helps inform future improvements. We’ll keep an eye on the conversation and review the feedback.

  12. When running the account transactions report, it would be nice to add a "reconciled" column when looking at bank accounts. This would make it much easier to identify which transaction is a duplicate or an error that has not already been matched. I know I could run the "Bank reconciliation" to view the unreconciled transactions, but with a client with high volume with integrations creating multiple invoices that are outstanding for a later deposit, this can be messy to review, and I would prefer just seeing everything in the account transaction report.

Thanks for your feedback here, Amanda. Being open this isn't something we have plans for at present but will begin to track interest from your idea.

Good to hear you're aware of the current option available. If there are any plans around expanding the Account Transactions report to surface this information we'll be sure to let you know here.

  13. Custom Reports Formatting & Formulas

1 - more options like spacers (not just page breaks), lines, section dividers
2 - text box more flexible = between lines, not just at the beggining and end of the whole reports
3 - allow formulas to display text results (if statements), not just numbers

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback here. We understand why having more flexibility in custom report layouts and formulas could help create more tailored reporting outputs.

The idea is to provide additional formatting options and expanded formula capabilities, allowing users to build reports that better align with their reporting needs.

We’ll continue tracking engagement and feedback from the community here.

  14. A report is needed that lists the customer activity with the ability to filter out customers with a zero balance. It takes 20 minutes to run an activity report (which is transactions in AR) then filter out all of the customers with a zero balance. This needs to be done monthly and it is ridiculous to not have that ability.

Thanks for bringing this idea to the community.

Being able to exclude customers with zero balances or no activity directly within accounts receivable reports could make it easier to review outstanding balances without needing to manually filter the results.

We've updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If this feature would help your workflow, add your vote and share which reports you'd like this filter to be included.

  15. I would like to suggest changing Effective Life (Yrs) from Year to Month.
From our side, we have several assets with a useful life results in an uneven number when expressed in years—for example, 16 months (i.e., 1.33 years).

Entering useful life in months would be more practical and would help avoid rounding issues when calculating depreciation.

Hi Van, thanks for submitting this idea. We understand why having the option to enter an asset’s effective life in months could be helpful, especially for assets with shorter or more specific depreciation periods.

The idea is to allow users to set asset effective life using months instead of converting them into years or decimal values, making fixed asset setup more straightforward and reducing manual calculations.

We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you'll find it useful.

  16. Budget manager currently only allows you to include actuals for 3m, 6m and 12m. Most businesses do quarterly forecasts and hence also need 9m....why isn't this included as a default option ?? It should be...please !

We’ve seen your feedback on Budget Manager—thanks for sharing it. A 9-month actuals option could support quarterly forecasting.

This idea has been moved to Gaining support, so the community can vote and comment. If this would help your team too, sharing how you’d use it can give the product team more context and help the idea gain traction.

We’ll let you know when this progressed.

  17. If I have a report and a column is a formula.

When I export that report to excel, the column has the underlying formula in each cell.

The column even has that formula in a cell that is in a total row. This is okay if the formula is a percentage, but never if the formula is an amount.

A total row with an amount should always be the total of the cells above it. Never any other formula.

Other column types (such as date), do not suffer this issue, they will correctly insert a formula that sums the cells…

Hi Sam, really appreciate you coming into our Xero Support team about this so we could get a closer look into the behaviour that you've mentioned.

I've re-opened this and slightly adjusted the title of your idea now that we have a clearer picture. Just to highlight for others coming across - currently when you export a report to Excel the formula in the column takes precedence over the total calculation.

There are no plans for changing this at this time, however we'd like to get a wider sense of thew interest through the idea here so that our product teams can consider this in future planning. Thank you

Hi Krizza, we understand how having a Business Use Percentage column available in the Fixed Asset Report would make it easier to review and present asset information, particularly for assets with both private and business use.

While Xero currently applies the business use calculation in the background, having the percentage visible directly in the report would help reduce the need to check individual asset records.

We’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share the feedback with our product team.

  19. We would like to request that the Sales Tax report for each invoice be shown as a single total amount in one bill, without itemizing the individual items in the Sales Tax report.

This format will help us track and reconcile invoices more easily. When the Sales Tax is itemized, it becomes difficult for us to monitor and match the invoices accurately.

We appreciate your support and look forward to your assistance on this matter. Please let us know if you need any further information from our side.

Hi community, appreciate raising this idea in the forums here and we'll start to get an understanding of the interest around this.

As tax can differ per line of an invoice this audit report provides a detailed account of the transactions lines that make up your tax and we want to be open that we don't have plans around changing this view right now.

In the meantime, for reconciliation purposes you may find running the Receivable Invoice Summary report useful.
