Thanks for sharing your idea! Currently, the Payment Summary Details report can only be set to a financial year. However, the Payroll Employee Summary report allows you to select any date range and provides similar information.

We’ve reviewed your suggestion, and it’s now open for community support! Be sure to share this idea with any colleagues who might benefit so they can add their vote.

Other members can also leave comments to share how this feature would improve their experience with Xero.

  3. Restore function where the previously viewed transaction is highlighted in a darker or different colour so you know where you are on a list of transactions. It used to be there but it has now gone :(

Thanks for sharing your idea, Diana. We understand that having a way to keep track of reviewed transactions would help when working through large reports.

The suggestion is to add a visual indicator for previously viewed items, making it easier to remember where you left off and avoid reopening the same transactions.

For now, opening transactions in separate browser tabs can help keep your place while reviewing multiple items. We’ll continue tracking this idea here so the community can share feedback and use cases.

  4. To have the option to remove the draft bill feature when lodging your BAS through Xero. At the moment, the system automatically creates the draft bill when lodging your BAS and we are manually going back and deleting the draft bills.
It would be great to have option to disable this feature

  7. I would like to request improvements to the Journal Report to make it more user-friendly for accountants and bookkeepers.
Currently, reversal journals and their original entries appear together, which makes the report difficult to read and slows down review during month-end and year-end close.
    Please consider adding these enhancements:
    1. Preferred enhancement: Reversal Filters
Please add filter options to control visibility of reversal-related journals:
    • Show or hide original journals
    • Show or hide reversal journals
    • View only normal (non-reversal) journals
This would keep the full audit trail intact, but make the report much cleaner and easier to analyze.…

Hi Wilianti, thanks for taking the time to share this idea. Your notes on reversal filtering and visual indicators help clarify how these enhancements could support your workflow.

We’ve moved your post into Gaining Support, which opens it up for community votes and comments. It is now up to the community to show their interest, and this gives us a clearer picture of how many users might benefit from changes like these.

We’ll update this thread when the idea gains traction and is reviewed further by the product team.

  8. Please make it possible to actually print or export a fixed asset registry to PDF or Excel. Not CSV. There is no use for the CSV at all? Except may if you import to another set of books.

But for reported and editing purposes you want it in either pdf or excel to sort quickly. No one has time to work through a CSV File!!! for quick reporting purposes.

Thanks for raising this suggestion, Annelie. Being able to export the Fixed Asset Register directly to PDF or Excel could make it easier to use the report for year-end reviews and client reporting.

In the meantime, opening the CSV export in Excel or utilizing the Asset Summary report remains the most practical workaround.

I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback. If you regularly export the register, let us know which format you’d use most and how you’d like it presented.

  9. It would be a time saver if I could use the resend signature request reminders in bulk from the Xero Tax [To Sign] tab rather than having to go through each client's overview window individually.

  10. Allow the Import from Tax function to be mapped at the master level to a Master Chart of Accounts, this would enable account mappings to be consistent and eliminate additional entry and review time in the first year, with only new accounts being addressed.

  11. The ATO are pushing hard to collect debt, and as Accountants we want to keep a finger on the pulse of amounts owing to the ATO for our clients.

At this point in time, i am not aware of a report we can generate through the ATO portal which tells us ALL the debt which is owed by our clients, across all their accounts, Tax, GST, Super etc.

Yes there is an integrated debt report we can run, but it only shows the ICA debt. By accident if someone has an ICA debt and a tax debt both will appear…

Hi Richard, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand how having a report that shows a client's total ATO debt in one place could make it easier for practices to monitor outstanding tax obligations and prepare for client conversations.

We'll keep on monitoring the interest on this idea. If this is something you'd like to see, please keep voting and let us know what information you'd like to be included in this report.

Thanks for sharing your idea, Kirsten. It's good to get this understanding from customers on the different flows they would find most useful. This isn't something we have direct plans of right now, but will start to get a sense of interest in setting a default screen here. I'l be sure to let you know if there is any movement around your idea.

  13. AU There was a discrepancy between GST ac balance at EOQ on the Balance Sheet & the GST refund for the end of quarter BAS. Using the GST Reconciliation report would be a lot more helpful if the Filed Amounts could actually be saved and continuously show the correct unfiled running balance amount and the section "GST Account Summary " for unfiled GST was actually correct as a cumulative balance. I just did 3.5 years worth of GST Reconciliations and nothing saved so all the running balances are wrong and don't flow correctly from one year to the next -…

Thank you for your candid feedback and engagement on this idea. The good news is we're actively working on a complete rebuild of this report on our new reporting platform ✨. This project is a top priority and is specifically designed to solve the issues you've raised. The new report will automatically pull in filed return amounts, allow you to drill down into transactions, and always show a correct, cumulative unfiled balance. We're in the development phase, and we’re also actively gathering feedback on the ability to make manual adjustments in the new report, which we know is a critical requirement. We are committed to delivering a report that makes this essential part of your workflow easier and more reliable. We'll be back with another update as we make progress 😊

Hi Arthur, is there a particular report you'd find this selection most useful for? It's unlikely we'd add this as a common date range across all reports at once - it'd be good to better understand the reports this would be most helpful for you on. Thanks

  15. The Find and Recode appears not to include Projects so where one wants to set the Project name in the invoice or bill field based on, say, the Tracking category (This is what we need to do) there is no option other than to go through every invoice and bill and set it manually.

Your proposal has been reviewed and is now open for community support. To help it progress, we encourage you to circulate this idea among colleagues who stand to benefit, asking them to vote.

  16. Credit cards are setup to enjoy the benefit of bank feeds. But under reporting standards they are treated as trade payables. So that means at year end a work around needs to be added. Is there any chance you could setup the report so as to exclude credit cards? For those that need it the work around is

At the core is Xero’s faulty treatment of credit cards.

If we take the approach credit cards are trade payables (as per accounting standards) and not akin to an overdraft, then the work around for the cash flow statement becomes as follows.…

Appreciate you raising this idea. We understand the request for more control over how accounts are classified in the Statement of Cash Flows, such as the ability to prevent credit card accounts from being included in Cash and Cash Equivalents.

I’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would help your reporting, add your vote and share when you’d find this most useful.

  17. When you use a date shortcut (eg +7) it DOES NOT WORK when using manual journals.

    Here's a video demonstrating the problem: https://www.loom.com/share/6f035e84ebce42cab95c67dbbe65a608

I posted this feedback a few days ago and the reply from Xero admin was the function does work as designed, and since the thread is now closed, I've reposted with a video of me using the date shortcuts and demonstrating how they don't work.

Hi TJ, thanks for sharing the short video - I can see what you mean here.

To clarify how date shortcuts work in Manual Journals, they’re based on the current date rather than any date already entered in the field. If Xero doesn’t recognise the shortcut you’ve entered, it defaults to today’s date.

If you want to enter a date from a previous month, the shortcut to use is “Date in a month”, as shown in our help table. For example, 8/Jun or 6/8 would enter 8 June 2026.

I understand the behaviour you’d prefer, so I’ve slightly amended the title of your idea. This isn’t something we have plans of developing for shortcuts at present but we’ll start tracking interest in this date shortcut behaviour from your post.

  18. Your Tax Notice support documents need to include information about updating the Changed Tab and updating the tax notices you wish to ignore as the client is not required to pay prov tax - the reason for this: the missed tax payments report that is run after the tax payment due date will not make sense and the data will be incorrect if these steps are not explained to users.

Thanks for sharing your idea here Miriam, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. As you may already know, currently the only way to achieve this is to click on Edit layout and arrange the order of the columns.

  20. Why does Xero not pre-fill the Private Health Insurance information of someone who is on their family's PHI?
i.e. a young adult/teenager who is still on their parents health insurance. (Code F on the tax return).

I am having to manually enter the information every time I create a return for one, which is frustrating given that the information is already on their ATO pre-fill report, and it prefills fine for their parents.

Hi Emily! We really appreciate your feedback on this. At this moment, the information we pull is directly from the ATO exclusively for one sole return, and so won't automatically fill into the young adult/teenagers return as you've found.

We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

We'll keep an eye on any traction this gets in the community and will keep you updated if there are any updates. Thanks.
