  1. With the rollout of the NDIA’s new PACE system, NDIS participant plans now include funding periods (e.g. monthly or quarterly). Providers and plan managers must track and claim within these timeframes, but Xero currently doesn’t support this.

    Adding a Funding Period Tracking feature would let users:

    Set funding period start/end dates per participant or support category

    Track and report spend per period

    Receive alerts for overspend or expiring funds

    Validate invoices against active funding periods

    This would help thousands of NDIS providers maintain compliance, reduce manual tracking, and strengthen Xero’s value in the disability sector.

  2. Provide an option to allow standard users to publish bank reconciliation reports, but not all reports.

    As a Xero Advisor, I don't always perform all of the accounting functions for my clients. For some clients we mutually prefer to have them perform the bank reconciliation process each month. This is a standard internal control that isn't always outsourced. Requiring publishing bank reconciliation reports at the Advisor level user seems overkill and limits how advisors can manage levels of service assumed by the advisor and their clients.

  3. We pay contractors based on sales reports for each contractor. Getting this report is easy. In fact, Xero does that well. However, to get that same report and deduct a % value or any other value to work out what the contractor payment will be. Then being able to save & print & Email that report. Currently, we export to Excel, and whilst that works great, it is fiddly and time consuming. Probably not for everyone, but handy for some.

    THi Steven 👋, thanks for raising this idea. We appreciate its not straightforward calculating the percentage of invoices paid to contractors, which we know creates extra manual work. Although this is not on our current roadmap, we will monitor this idea for votes and other comments. However, for now, a workaround would continue to be to export the report and use a spreadsheet application to calculate the percentages. 📈

  4. Ability to add report styling to the PDF export so you can show logo. Like you can do with other reports.

    Hi all, we appreciate this feedback raised through a broader idea and would like to better understand the direct interest in this through this idea.

    While not in our roadmap atm, this is something we understand the needs in and will keep you updated if there is news to share, here.

  5. Trial balance with a column for Tracking Category. Currently I need to download each TB individually if I want it by tracking category, which is very time consuming and inefficient.

  6. The "GST on expenses" and "no GST" sections of the GST report have contradicting signage - e.g.: expenses are a positive when there is GST but a negative when its under the "no GST" section. Can we keep it consistent in the report as its confusing to read/review.

  7. Please can you consider offering a accounts transaction report that allows you to see transaction by unique customer account number - otherwise what is the point of having a unique customer account number?

  8. It isn't possible to add a quantity column to a report, nor is it possible to pull through Qty data entered in Xero or create a cell the Qty can be manually typed into.

    You can add a note column but this would be to link to a section of the report pack, not a quantity loaded into Xero or a box we could manually type the quantity into. Further the notes section functionality is unable to be renamed and can only be linked to other reports in the report pack. It does not work to bring through Qty data.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your engagement and support for adding a quantity column to reports in Xero. We understand there are differing reasons around wanting to add quantity to a report, like being able to track fuel for tax credits, livestock numbers, or hours worked for carbon reporting.

    There's a specific idea for Livestock reporting that we'd recommend anyone interested in this joins.

    To highlight, quantity can be added within the following reports within Xero right now;

  9. When we send a W9 request to a vendor via Xero the only way we have to know if they have completed the W9 request is by logging back into Xero and manually navigating to that vendor to check in on it.

    It would be great if admins/bookkeepers could receive a notification when the vendor completes the W9 request.

    Having that email notification of a vendor completing a w9 request would also enable us to trigger other automations.

  10. I would like to be able to assign the 210 CIS labour account to a service for CIS labour. At the moment, I have a couple of services for CIS labour and some for non CIS labour.
    For the Non CIS labour, I can creat a service called 'labour' and add the account code to it.
    This can't be done with CIS labour at the moment as Xero won't allow it. This means that for each line item of CIS labour in an invoice I have to manually add the 210 CIS account.

  11. Please add a VAT Reconciliation Report for South African Xero Orgs.
    There is currently no report that allows users to determine which transactions in the VAT Control Account have been posted to which VAT periods and which returns they fall under. Late claims are not indicated anywhere except in the transaction detail within each VAT201, so the Control Account needs to be reconciled externally in excel.
    This is particularly an issue when a conversion from another accounting software has taken place and there are opening balances to reconcile. Or if conversion took place mid VAT period.

  12. The PDF preview pane is fantastic... except a page can be lengthy and it doesn't let you scroll on it.
    If I hover my cursor on the PDF preview and scroll (using the scroll wheel of my mouse), it zooms. I almost never need to zoom on it. If I needed to Zoom I would hold control and scroll, like I would on any other browser page.
    I have to move my cursor to this skinny panel either side of the page to be able to scroll, or grab the skinny scroll bar (to the right, not the left).

    Appreciate your feedback, Sam. We don't have any immediate changes planned to the zoom and scroll behaviour of the reporting preview. For now we'll track interest your idea receives here and update if there's any progress around this.

  13. I would like to be able to see sales totals on a simple table on the Xero app. I simply wish to see monthly sales totals as well as year totals per selected year. This helps me to get a quick snapshot of how my sales are increasing or decreasing, and also to view sales trends by month.

    Thanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Idea's, Domenico. As you may have seen there is the Total Cash In and Out graph on the dashboard of the app. The dark blue bars show the total amount of cash that’s come into your bank account per month, and the light blue bars show the cash that’s gone out. 

    Appreciate there's no way to show this only based on invoices, or for a year view atm.

    We'll monitor and track support your idea receives from the community.

  15. It would be really useful to see the contact name on the History and Notes report.
    We use this report to track bank account changes but we also check newly added supplier bank account details. Seeing which contact each line relates to would help us group them and know if an 'Edited - Bank.....' relates to the same contact as a 'Created' so we don't need to go into each line

    Hi everyone, we've created this idea based on feedback received here.

    With careful design and research around the placement of action buttons, there are no planned changes for moving the the 'File with IR' button.

    However, we'd still like to get a sense of the interest from community in this, here.

  17. Ability to export the GST return with the layout as customised on the screen. For example if columns have been hidden these are not shown in the exported file.

    Hi everyone, this idea has been created from feedback on this initial idea. We understand why you'd like your exported return to appear with the same columns hidden and would like to get a better view of the overall community interest in this from the idea here.

    While we don't have immediate plans, we will keep an eye on this here and share if there are any updates.

  18. Essential for cash flow and projections, an annual report divided by month that includes source and base currencies.

    The "Account Transactions" report currently enables us to overview all accounts (Balance Sheet and P&L) in both currencies (source and base) but lacks a feature to display 12 months alongside each other.

    This isn't something we have direct plans of right now, however we'll continue to gather community interest in this and share if there are any updates.

    In terms of cashflow projections, if not already you may want to check out Short term cashflows with Xero Analytics.

  19. Would love that within money out/in and repeating the transaction that 'quarterly option' was included.

  20. When exporting the profit and loss transactions it would be amazing for one of the columns to show the Contact in isolation rather than merging the contact and description into one field. This would allow much easier spreadsheet analysis by contact.

    Hi everyone, thanks for being a part of the conversation on filtering Profit and Loss reports by contact. We understand how this could make digging into profitability a bit easier.

    There is currently the Income & Expenses by Contact report that’ll show where you’ve incurred expenses or received income or funds for each contact. You could also Group or Filter this report by contact with the ability to drill down to the transactions related to each amount.

    Alternatively, some people in the discussion have also kindly shared their method which may help others.

    Our product team has reviewed this idea, and while this may be a development we consider in the longer term it isn’t roadmapped at this stage. We’ll continue to keep an ear on the ground here and share if there are any updates.
