    Hi team, we appreciate the idea here is more surrounding the ability to create rules to help curate the automated entry of data in bills created via the email to bills process.

    However, I did just want to confirm the existing options that are available to help with the automatic entry of your bills as there are multiple paths you could explore.

    As per this idea, in it's current form email to bills will use the data of your emailed file to automatically create a bill and fill fields.

    There is also Hubdoc that you can connect to your organisation and use to publish bills to your organisation, and most recently we introduced Upload where you can upload multiple files to Xero at once to create multiple draft bills.

    We don't have any plans around expanding email to bills to add the ability to set rules. but we'll continue to…

  2. Love that the sales tax uses Avalara, please add that functionality to bills too, to look up consumer use tax. Thanks!

  3. To attach proof/evidence of multi receipts/payments when that batch is a mix of invoice and also pre/overpayment, credit. We can attach to a single type of action, but not mixed. Keeps things tidy and also much quicker to see what exactly was in a batch, than to go back to a physical document holder

  4. Xero subscription - Have a way to turn the e-invoice into a new repeating bill so that it can show up in the bills you need to pay widget. I know I could create a new repeating bill but I can not see an option that will let the Reference and the line description update to what is on the e-invoice.

  6. In Xero I’m able to use my purchase order templates that I created with docx.

    I was hoping to keep things consistent when generating POs from XIP. I don’t see that I can alter the templates.

  7. I propose an update to the formatting of the cheque stubs so that summarize the list of bills that are being paid by cheque on the stub, not the individual line items.

    I have a client that owns 12 franchise restaurants. Some of the bills that are received have to be split 12 ways. if multiple bills are received, we're looking at that many more lines on the stub. Can we please update the format of the stub to summarize the bills that are being paid to avoid confusion for vendors?

    The attached stub is a payment for 3 bills.

  8. New bills screen - bugs/design that need to be fixed:
    - when filtering the currency column disappears
    - the planned date font size is smaller than the due date font size meaning I can't zoom the screen
    - the from column isn't wide enough so most suppliers' names are wrapping, meaning each transaction takes up 2 lines and results in fewer transactions on one screen and more scrolling, whereas there is wasted space between the planned date, paid and due date columns which could be made narrower

  9. We are forwarding inbound invoice emails to the Xero processing address, but, many suppliers send multiple copies (up to 5 or 6) saying "Invoice", "Invoice due in x -7 days", "Invoice due today", "Invoice paid", each with the invoice.

    Going through the duplicates screen is time consuming.

    Please make this easier for bulk actions:

    1) a keep this and delete others (in a group)
    2) a delete all (in a group) - sometimes we get statements or similar sent and right now we can delete the duplicates but have to go back to the invoice list to delete the original.

  10. Hi there, I would like to be able to assign line items (that are the same) on a bill to multiple customers.

    i.e. 2 x oil filters, assign ONE of each to separate customers without having to enter them on separate lines on the bill to do so.

    Also, when creating an invoice and viewing "items to assign to a customer" I would like to be able to see the Supplier AND their invoice number in that list.

  11. I want to assign the customer to repeating invoices like software subscriptions that we pay for our clients. I have those bills in as repeating invoices but I have to assign the customer to them every month. It would be nice to be able to assign the customer on the repeating invoice and save that time each month.

  12. There is a new completely unnecessary and annoying column named "View" in the Bills reports. I can switch it off each time I open that report, but I would like to reset the default so it doesn't come up ever. To view a bill all I have to do is click into it, so the extra visual of the EYE is just very irritating. It isn't an issue with the Invoices.

    Sorry to hear you find the view option an irritancy, Adrienne. This was developed based on customers feedback who wanted to be able to view more intricate detail of bills on the fly without having to navigate away from the list view.

    I want to be open that we don't have any plans for removing this, but will continue to track and gauge interest around this through your idea here for now.

  14. Inventory - We are considering switching to Xero from Sage50, but have come across the issue of not being able to add an inventory item's "Bin Location" to the packing slip. We could include the bin location in the description of the item, but we don't want this to appear on the customer invoice. We only want the item's location to appear on the Packing Slip for the warehouse operatives to locate the items easily.

  15. The attached 'Supplier Statement' report has been 'retired'. Please consider reinstating this in Xero. We buy in euro and for financial audit purposes at every year end we need to issue this report. There is now nothing like this on Xero which makes no sense as we can't report without a mass of manual work to make a report outside of Xero.

  16. We have a client that has subscriptions that are paid monthly via card with a "debit order", can you create different payables folders and link it to each bank account so that normal operating expenses that are paid weekly can match with the business' current account and have a separate folder in payables that has all the subscription invoices to match in the bank recon screen

    Hi Marinus, thanks for the detail of your needs here. While there's no particular feature for this right now, one option could be to use a consistent prefix that you add to the reference field of these type of bills.

    When reconciling the payment in your bank account, you'd use Find & Match and could enter the prefix in the Search field to look up al the related bills for that period.

  17. In the list view of "bills awaiting approval" it would be really helpful to have an option to display a column with the account the bill has been assigned to, and the VAT; this is the two items I need to check before approving bills and being able to just tick and approve most would save so much time.

  18. Option to use supplier account number as Payee reference when making Open Banking payments by direct bank transfer.

    Currently the Supplier account number is not displayed anywhere.

    It defaults the Payee reference to the Bill reference which is fine when paying single bills to a supplier. However, if I want to make a single payment to the supplier for multiple bills (group by Payee option), we would want to enter our Supplier Account number as the Payee reference. See attached.

  19. Please provide bills allocation to purchase order option. converting purchase order to bills is not that useful as we received multiple invoice from different suppliers. sometime some supplier send us wrong invoice and without P.O allocations to bills we were unable to catch that kind of mistakes. which result in wrong payment.

    benefits of that option:

    it will be easy to see if trade/supplier invoiced more than our purchase order (agreed price). as right now there is no way we can see that information in xero.

    implementations way could be:

    Purchase order should be zero after allocating bill to it…

  20. When looking up product history Xero lists what invoices product was sold on. It would also be nice to be able to see the customer's name. This would make things much easier when trying to look up pricing assigned to specific customers.
