  1. I work with 2 screens - when entering a bill it would be really useful to be able to view the xero transaction on one screen and view the attachment on the second screen. Currently the bills sometimes have such small print you have to really zoom in and move around the screen to be able to read it. I am aware you can open it as a separate document, but this wastes as much time trying to zoom etc. Many people now work with 2 screens so I think this would be a really useful function.

  2. I would like to be able to use JAX prompts to search bills to pay or to ask general questions about previously paid bills.

    For example:

    • Show me all the bills paid to supplier X before/after invoice date [insert date]
    • Show me all the bills for this amount [insert amount]
    • Find all the bills that were created with Tax Inclusive (or Tax Exclusive or No Tax).
    • Start a new bill for supplier [insert supplier name] with the following item codes [insert list of item codes]

    Currently, JAX doesn't seem to have any knowledge about bills.

  3. Have also the change payee option, From copying the Purchase order to Invoice, so the customer from PO will remain in supplier contact lists only.

    Hi team, appreciate why you'd like to be able to identify the Contact that the invoice should be created for when copying a PO to an invoice.

    This isn't something we have planned changes of right now but will continue to track interest through this idea.

    In the meantime, as soon as the invoice is created you should be able to click the 'x' next to the contact name to quickly remove and search the contact you'd like this entered for.

  4. I've always felt like your software was created by people who have never used the software themselves because some of the pathways and defaults just don't make sense. Note: I access Xero using the Chrome browser.
    Here are some changes that could be made that would really improve the user experience with Xero:

    1. When I'm entering bills, some date fields want me to enter the date like this: date/month/year and other times it wants me to enter it like this: month/date/year.  It's very frustrating having to switch back and forth randomly.

    Hi Jenna, we appreciate your feedback and the detail you've given is great. However, it's best that strange behaviour or performance issues are shared with our specialists at Xero Support who have tools to be able to investigate and escalated with our team if something isn't working as it should.

    There are a couple of your points I wanted to confirm here;

    • Bills to pay - you are able to set a default page for this. It sounds like it may currently be set to Paid bills in your org. You can set the default by clicking the 3 dots in the top right of the page where you'll see 'Default bill page' to select your preference
    • Default for bills due date - From the same place you can go to for invoice (Invoice settings) you can set a default Due date for your bills.

    I'd recommend raising a case…

  5. Bills: unapprove option

    Have the option to unapprove a bill so it can revert back to draft/awaiting approval rather than having to void a bill and re-enter it.

    Hi team, thanks for staying engaged with us here. From your feedback our product teams clearly understand there are legitimate use cases and scenarios in which you’d like to be able to simply unapprove a bill.

    While seemingly simple there is a bit of underlying work that needs to be done within Bills to enable us to build this functionality - As you’ll have experienced within the Bills list view - we’re in the process of uplifting the pages in Bills with updated technology that’ll unlock our ability to develop features like unapprove.

    So, while it’s not in our roadmap atm, we’re tuned in here and will continue to assess how we may solve this as we plan our future roadmap. I’ll make sure to share any progress with everyone here.

  6. When looking up product history Xero lists what invoices product was sold on. It would also be nice to be able to see the customer's name. This would make things much easier when trying to look up pricing assigned to specific customers.

  7. I would appreciate the Search engine to be reverted back to how it was. The new "upgraded" search is close to useless. When I search for clients, I expect all relevant clients to come up. I don't want to type in the whole client name, just to get their details to show up. Previously I could type in a few letters and the search would come up with an amazing list of relevance....
    1. Contact listed first
    2. Invoices listed next
    3. Bills listed thereafter
    4. then lastly bank transactions

    These searches used to come up with appropriate information and…

  8. At the moment you can't directly Upload bills from the files inbox we are having to download the files then upload them. Seems like an obvious feature.

    Hi team, we don't have any direct plans on providing the ability to customise the Purchases overview page at this time. For the time being, we'll continue to get a sense of the interest from the community in this here.

  11. Under the Bills and Invoices sections, could separate categories be introduced for overpayments and older bills from prior quarters? This would help declutter the Awaiting Payment section, especially for businesses with long credit terms, where bills may remain unpaid for several months.

    Have you heard of Find and recode, Wade? This could possibly assist with what you're asking here. As the changes made using this tools aren't reversible it is restricted to users with the Adviser role, and we highly recommend trying it out in the demo company before using in your own.

    Alternatively the best way to make changes to the bill would be to remove the payment, Edit, then reapply.

  13. There is no reason to override a cogs associated account to a purchase account in the inventory item summary.

    The suggestion is to allow the inventory item summary report to report on items as they are actually tracked on the P&L meaning material purchases are a cogs and should show in the cogs on this report.

Hi, I would love the ability to select one of our bank accounts or credit cards on the awaiting payments screen for each bill. i can select the planned date however this only tells me when it is going to be paid and it would be useful for planning if i was able to select for example the credit card it is DD from or bank account to aid in budgeting and cashflow.

  15. It would be great to be able to copy lines when processing spend money and bill transactions. I need to split costs from a single bill or credit card transaction to locations. Being able to copy data entered to a new line and then change the value if needed and apply the location would save time and limit tedium. Thank you

  16. Show that vendor's previous bills on the screen when entering a new bill. This helps to see prior amounts and dates to make sure month-to-month expenses are in line.

  17. Option to link bill due dates to a calendar, ie iCal, Google, Outlook etc. We use a scheduling program called Flight Schedule Pro for bookings and it has this useful feature.

    Hi team, we appreciate the support for being able to link bills to an external calendar and while this isn't something we have immediate plans of will continue to keep a watchful eye on the interest in this idea. I'll share if there is any progress around this to update you on.

  18. The ability to see the history of an item's selling pricing within the Invoicing screen would be extremely helpful. Sales staff would be able to quickly access the selling price history of items within the Invoice screen to ensure that the latest price is used on invoices.

    The ability to see this history within the invoice screen will also remove the need to access a separate report in Xero to view the history of inventory item sales price, which will save a lot of time.

    This would also be particularly beneficial for businesses who have frequent changes in their selling…

  19. Hi,
    We would like draft bills to be sortable by order inputted.
    We are using AutoEntry to post invoices but Xero changes the order that the invoices are being entered.

  20. It would be great to be able change the e-mail address where files or bills are sent to Xero to simplify it?

    Currently the e-mail address is long and without context and cannot be linked to a specific client outside of Xero in for example Outlook or Gmail.

    An "alias" e-mail address would be helpful.
