  1. When Xero prompts for the authenticator code during login, the code input box doesn’t automatically take focus. I have to click into it every time before typing. Small issue, but it’s a constant friction point for frequent logins. Please auto-focus the field so users can paste or type the code immediately.

  2. Stop charging us more for thing we don't need or want. We just want simple accounting that we signed up for at a fair price. If you make improvements you want, grandfather people in.

  3. I can no longer comment on the original idea

    what I would like is a button on a support case which allows me to create a product idea linked to the support case, so i don't need to copy and paste the entire case history into the product idea

    Aah I see what you mean now, and appreciate you sharing more detail, Anna.

    In terms of the original idea, you can reply directly to the email update you received about the status if there is extra detail you'd like to share with the team - In this case I've merged your original idea with this one to keep the information all together.

    We don't have immediate plans for this, but will keep considering how we improve their efficiency when engaging and sharing feedback. We'll track the support here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

  4. When sending clients statements, clients cannot view their payments clearly. For example our client made a payment on 8th September however all he could see was the allocation rather then the actual payment.
    Is there a way for the statement to show the payment as well as/ instead of how it was allocated to make it easier for clients to understand

  5. I need to be able to leave a note (like postit note) somewhere in the product to my accountant. They would be notified and be able to go exactly to the view I have a question/comment about and respond right there.

  6. It's a huge problem for me that when billing fails for an entity, no notification is sent to the billing contact, only the subscriber (me) gets notified. If I'm on holiday, and something goes wrong with billing, people get locked out of the platform.

    There should at least be an option for the billing contact to receive these messages, if not the default setting. I can't think of any reason I wouldn't want my billing contact to know that the payment to Xero has failed. My book-keeper doesn't know something has gone wrong until she is locked out of Xero.

    Hi Alan, thanks for sharing this idea. This would be useful for situations when a payment fails, allowing a nominated user to be notified as well so action can be taken quickly and avoid being locked out.

    A simple workaround for now is setting up an email forwarding rule from noreply@post.xero.com

    or subscription.notifications@post.xero.com

    to your bookkeeper or Billing Contact. It’s not a permanent fix, but it can help make sure the right person sees the alert sooner.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would value more flexibility in who receives these notifications. If this would help your team, please add your vote or share your experience—it really helps us understand the impact.

  7. Cash Flow Manager is a great tool but please can it cover 52 weeks not just 26 weeks, as at present you can not see where your business will be in 12 months time?

  8. When speaking to Xero support on a chat can Xero show the date, time of each part of the chat please like most other providers do each time each party of the chat types something in. It's really handy to refer back to.

  9. In the Bills screen under column options can you please add Jobs/Tracking so that I don't have to open a bill to see what job it is for?

Create Demo as a sandbox of own company: We use other systems that allow us to create a 'Sandbox version of our data' that is valid for 2 weeks, and we can then use it as a Demo to test, train, work out issues in the system rather than impacting our live data. Admins have access to create or delete a Sandbox. This would be extremely useful in Xero.

  11. Small businesses increasingly want to understand the environmental and social impact of their spending — but ESG tools are complex, expensive, and built for large enterprises.

    Xero is uniquely placed to change that.

    Idea:
    Embed lightweight, real-time ESG context directly into Xero, so small businesses can understand the impact behind everyday transactions — without extra systems or reporting burden.

    What this could look like:
    • ESG indicators at transaction or supplier level (e.g. climate, labour, governance risk)
    • Simple, plain-English insights alongside payments and invoices
    • Optional summaries over time (e.g. “This quarter’s spend impact”)
    • No scores to manage…

  12. We would like our staff to be able to experiment with JAX outside of our clients accounts - to do this, we would like JAX to be available in the Demo Company and it is not currently.

  13. Ability to be able to subscribe (via email) to Status updates and incidents for all or selected options within Xero, via the Status page.

    A problem with Projects the other day, there was NO alert, no notification. I was entering data thinking it was being saved. Only by accident did I notice my whole day of adding time was gone, went to the discussions then to the status page to see the incident report.

    If I was aware of the issue, I could have done manual recording of time.

    Other brands like Webflow, Squarespace and many others do this.

  14. 24 HOUR LOCK WHEN CERTIFICATION TEST "FAILS" NEEDS REMOVED IMMEDIATELY.

    We have a trainee going through his Xero certification. He timed out the first test. He is now locked out for 24 hours.

    We can't have him spending weeks doing this.

    Hi team, we appreciate the feedback however want to be upfront here that we don't have any plans on removing the 24 hours lock off period - This 24 hour cooling off period is designed to give a user time to visit the learning needed to close any skills gap.

    Certifications is a test of a users ability to carry out tasks in Xero accurately.

    We generally recommend completing the full learning course first as it covers everything a user needs to know to pass.

    The direct assessment route is really for those that have been certified before. You use Xero daily and have all the skills, and are just needing to get certified.

  15. Could it be possible to create a video to explain about the particular features of the Xero function in their respective page? I am trying to better understand visually on how to navigate and use a particular feature within Xero.

    If not at the very least, link me back to the lesson where I can get on the feature in the Xero Advisor course? It would be helpful for me to revisit the topic.

    Hi Marc, thanks for your engagement and for this excellent suggestion on improving our Xero Central resources.

    We've reviewed your idea about making our support content more visual by adding demonstration videos or linking back to specific lessons from our help articles. We agree that for many people, seeing a feature in action is incredibly helpful.

    Your suggestion is now open to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share how more visual content like videos could improve their learning experience and help them better understand Xero's features.

  16. At the moment when you go to Organisation Settings > Subscription and billing (e.g. https://go.xero.com/Settings/ManageSubscription), it says "Change plan and update credit card details Managed by XXXX"

    If we are XXXX - we don't see either of those things, only a button to take us somewhere else to Manage the plan.
    If we are not XXXX - we don't see either of those things.

    How dumb?

    Just show the Xero subscription/plan so we know what it is.

    Hi Sam, appreciate you sharing this idea — we understand where you're coming from.

    Being able to quickly see your Xero subscription plan from within your organisation’s settings would definitely make things easier. Having to jump to a different section just to check your plan or see what features are included isn’t ideal, especially when you’re trying to make quick decisions.

    At the moment, this info isn’t shown in the Organisation Settings, but you can view your plan by going to My Xero from the main menu and clicking on the Subscriptions tab. That’s where you’ll find your current plan and any add-ons.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. If this change would make things simpler for you, feel free to vote or leave a comment — your feedback helps us understand what matters most and where we can improve.

  17. Within Xero, the current “Invoice Only” user access level could be enhanced to allow access to reports that are directly relevant to their role. This would include areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and customer and supplier reports, while still restricting access to broader financial reports like the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.

    Although users with this profile can enter, approve, and pay invoices, they are currently unable to generate key supporting reports such as receivables ageing to follow up overdue debtors or payables reports to monitor outstanding obligations. Introducing more tailored reporting access within this user level…

  18. We cannot download bills to a csv or excel as a list- (all bills, awaiting payments, paid etc). Theres just an option to download the bills which I dont want to , I just want to be able to get a list of the bills with supplier name , invoice reference, date and invoice price for example . Please develop this. I think its the same for sales invoices too.

  20. To help reduce fraud within a business, is it possible to have a report for changes to supplier bank account details, (especially the bank account number), or have a notification text/email sent to a manager/accountant so this can be confirmed against details on the suppliers invoice.
    Scenario could be Batch payment of supplier invoices uploaded to online banking for payment, but bank account number(s) have been changed. On the surface it appears supplier(s) was paid, when in fact money is being obtained fraudulently.
