Hi community, appreciate your feedback on the new GST return and detail of how the Publish feature is useful to you. While we don't have immediate plans for developing this in the new return, this is something we're monitoring and will consider as a future improvement. If there is any change around this we'll share this with you all through the idea here.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the possible solution we shared a few months ago. After careful consideration taking all feedback on board, we will not be moving forward with this solution.
We're still considering how we might solve for the issues presented here over the long term and there are other pieces of work the team are currently delving into such as duplicate bills detection that may also help solve some needs here.
That said, we'll move the idea back to Submitted and continue to keep you updated on any progression that can help the needs expressed through the idea here. Thanks
An error occurred while saving the comment Peter Miles commentedWell that clearly indicates that you have not taken the feedback on board. Not sure there is any point in this arena as so little gets taken on board, and similar points are diluted as they are not combined to show the real depth of feeling. There needs to be a better subdivisional structure so people can add to comments rather than add a new one because they can't see easily what is already there, sometimes multiple times !

Hi community, sometime on since my last post we wanted to provide an update for your all here and appreciate the continued attention this idea is receiving.
We want to be upfront that at this time focuses for the team are in other areas of bank reconciliation and we don't have any current plans for developing the ability to import and export bank rules from an organisation.
We understand and know this is important to everyone that has voted for the idea and will continue to review and pay close attention to the feedback and votes here. When there is more opportunity for the team to refocus efforts here we will keep you informed of any progress.
An error occurred while saving the comment Peter Miles commentedIt would also help if on the Rules listing page, if it had a bit more information, e.g. $ amount and GL Account code.
An error occurred while saving the comment Peter Miles commentedImport and export would be great.
Also, when you view you cannot see the value if it is a fixed amount, would be useful if when viewing you could see the value or the % ?Peter Miles supported this idea · -

Hi team, to export a list of all Tracking categories in your org, you may find the Tracking Summary report of use to you here. Alternatively, you could run the Account Transactions report and Summarise by the Tracking category.
The one caveat here for both reports is that they'll only show a list of the tracking options that have been used within the date range the report is run.

An error occurred while saving the comment Peter Miles commentedThe old Profit and Loss Report, will print all of our job activity for the full 12 months. And will also export it perfectly, for all 113 jobs.
The new format report will not produce a report, just a message in the bottom left corner "Sorry, something went wrong" not really much help !
I tried printing in steps, a selection of jobs at a time, much as advised by Xero Support above.
However, as the accounts used in each are not the same, the alignment is all over the place and crazily time consuming.
I would like to urgently request that the old P&L report is not abandoned at the end of the month, and kept until such time as the new report functions completely.
Thanks

Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting to hear from us on this idea and apologies for not commenting sooner. I can assure you this has not gone unnoticed and internally there have been reviews and discussions for how batch payments can be improved. We have the appetite, but as with all developments this must be weighed up and considered against many other important changes needed in product.
We want to be upfront that developing the ability to include Credit notes in Batch payments has not been planned at this stage.
As some may have seen, we do have work going on around being able to include Credit Notes as part of the reconciliation process. We understand for many on this idea the timing of including credit notes when you’re creating the batch payments is crucial, however we hope that when delivered at least being able to reconcile these more efficiently…

We appreciate wanting to see more rapid movement, everyone. Having done a lot of exploration into this area our team have a good handle on the needs to solve this, however we want to be honest that development will be some time away with the team currently focused on improving bills list views and updating add/edit bill pages. For the time being to keep you up to date we're going to move this idea back to Submitted until more active work takes place for this.
I can assure you this idea is the best place to be leaving feedback for this feature, and Xero Product Ideas as a whole is the best place to be sharing where you'd like to see change across Xero products. As a community team we're advocating on your behalf constantly to see where ideas can be worked on, and this site is where our product…

An error occurred while saving the comment Peter Miles commentedI am not interested in flagging sales invoices in dispute, this can easily be done in the comments/notes, and should be well known by the person/dept for Credit Control.
However, for bills it is critical to allow the costs to appear in the accounts, but there be no risk of paying the bill by mistake which would remove all leverage.
So i am fully in support of tis feature for Bills, and hope it gets put into the planned improvements.Peter Miles supported this idea · -

Hi community, we want to update you that we've recently released the ability to include Purchase Orders (PO) through Payable Invoice Summary report. If you expand the side panel on the left of the report and select the 'Outstanding purchase orders summary' report, this will automatically display all Bills, Credit Notes and Purchase Orders and group them by Contact for you. You can use the total row of each contact to infer the remaining balance.
We're aware this may not directly show the information that you’re asking for here, so we'll keep the status idea as it is and we’ll let you know if there’s any further updates.

Hi community, first off thank you for the continued interest and feedback surrounding this idea. We’re continuing to build on the bank reconciliation experience in Xero and recognise the ways this feature will help improve the efficiency, flexibility and transparency of transactions in your business. Our team have done a lot of exploration into being able to surface and match Credit Notes when reconciling your bank account in Xero, and this is now in development.
We’ll shift the idea here into ‘Working on it’ and continue to update as there’s more detail of this to share.

Hi everyone, while we don't have a direct report for this, some changes we've made to History & Notes in Xero will help in achieving what you're in need of here.
You can run the History & Notes, filtering by Type = Contact and typing 'Bank account number' in the Search to just view results for this action.
If needed you'll be able to export your results to PDF or Excel.
Though the contact name doesn't show on screen, you can right click on the Contact in the report to open the contact's record in a new browser tab, that allows you to inspect details without navigating away from your History & Notes results.

Hi community, in lieu of having a direct feature for this I wanted to highlight the option shared earlier on in this thread (Thanks Peter!) for those it may help.
As mentioned, currently you could enter a separate line on the invoice, with a negative amount for the retention value, and code this to a 'customer retentions' account in the Balance Sheet. You could also add a comment in the Description field, indicating the cumulative retention value.
The Account Transactions Report can then be used to manage the values being carried forward.
Being open, this isn't something we have planned for development at this time, however we'll continue to gather the interest here, and if there's any changes we'll let you know.
An error occurred while saving the comment Peter Miles commentedHi Anthea,
Yiu can do this by using a separate line on your invoices, a negative for the retention value, and code this to a customer retentions account in the Balance Sheet. You can run a transaction report to manage the values being carried forward. We also add a comment in the narrative, indicating the cumulative retention value, hope this helps. -

Why is it you continually remove functionality that was there when you "improve" new versions, i do not understand how that is a positive move !
