Hi Joanne, thanks so much for all your feedback and comments on this idea. We totally get how handy it’d be to have a report in Xero UK Payroll that includes employee bank details.

Not having something like this can definitely add extra work and hassle—especially when you need to send bank info to a third party or double-check payments.

Right now, the idea’s in the ‘Gaining support’ stage, which means we’re keeping a close eye on how many people are voting and sharing their thoughts. The more input we get, the easier it is for us to understand how important this is and where it might sit in our list of priorities.

I agree, the reports from Xero should be able to be formatted or, at the very least, have it built in that totals are in bold or something so they stand out. Distinction between columns needs to be looked at too.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for sharing all your ideas and detailed suggestions for a comprehensive Audit Trail Report.

Through some of the comments in this discussion we wanted to highlight the Journal Report that may help with visibility of detail some are after. We've taken on board your thoughts on how this could be enhanced, like including an 'edited date' column and improving the export to Excel, however this is not in the roadmap right now.

Being open, providing a complete audit trail of every single event and change within an organisation is not in our plans.

That said, it’d help to gather interest in specific items you'd like to see added within the history and notes and I've shared links to a few ideas that have already been started on the platform. We welcome you to add your vote, or start a new idea for those that'd be…

Still no change to automatic payroll journals being able to be switched off!!

I can't understand why there isn't an option to have automatic journal posting on or off...........................

Absolutely critical!! I reverse the automatic posting and then post my own journal as Xero is not flexible at all in being able to apply nominal codes to different parts of the payroll.

Why is the Payroll Journal not able to be customised before it is posted? We have employees in different departments so things like ER Pension & NI needs to be coded to different nominal codes. Expenses can also require different nominal codes or have VAT split out

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback and support regarding automated payslip emails. We appreciate you sharing how this feature would improve your workflows.

The product team has reviewed this idea and confirmed that this is something they’d like to work toward in the future. Although it isn't on the roadmap yet, we've moved the status to Accepted. We'll keep you updated as things progress.

In the meantime, payslips can be emailed manually after processing each pay run. This means if you post pay runs in advance, you may still need to log back into Xero on payday to email them.

Hi everyone, we’ve been tracking this conversation and appreciate the insights you’ve shared around budgeting. We get how being able to sort budgets by General Ledger account number could streamline your workflow and help reflect the structure of your reports.

Currently, as you may know you can export budgets to a spreadsheet, and sort them outside Xero. But, we understand you'd prefer a solution directly in Xero.

We want to be transparent; this isn't currently in our roadmap. As we continue to monitor this space, we’ll update you here if anything changes.

Thank you all for your engagement with this idea to enable export options for the Short-Term Cash Flow projection in Xero Analytics Plus. We recognise that the STCF report is a useful tool for many of you and that exporting would allow you to share this report which is important in a number of different scenarios.

It is worth noting that for users accessing Xero Analytics powered by Syft, the cash flow report can be exported in a variety of formats. If you haven’t checked this out yet, you can find more information here - Xero Analytics powered by Syft

After carefully reviewing the current development roadmap, we have determined that this request will not be addressed in the immediate future. Therefore, we are changing the status of this idea to Not in the pipeline. However, the idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to monitor community…

Appreciate your feedback on how you use invoicing and the benefit you find in being able to approve and view the next invoice in sequential invoice number order. As we continue to plan further developments within this space, our product teams would like to engage you all here to get a better sense of our invoicing users for future improvements. We’d find your feedback invaluable and if you’d be interested in sharing with us, please fill in our survey here.

I wholeheartedly agree. It would only be logical to view the next invoice in numerical order not jump around especially as most people file in numerical order. You can re-order the list of draft invoices but it doesn't make any difference to what is displayed when you hit approve and view next........!!

Hey everyone, thanks for all your valuable feedback and support on this idea here.

It's nice to see tips being shared throughout this thread to help others managing multiple assets. The suggestion to group similar items (like office chairs or laptops) into a single asset with a quantity can be an efficient way to handle things. When you need to dispose of some, you can then perform a partial disposal by updating the quantity, which helps save a few steps.

Wanting to share an update for you all, although I appreciate it will not be the news hoped for - Developing the capability to bulk dispose assets isn't on our current roadmap. We will keep an active eye on the support this continue to build here and be sure to let you know if anything changes here.

Heya team, thanks for all your input here. We hear you, and understand that being able to assign multiple tracking categories to pay items would improve your reporting capabilities, and simplify tracking costs for various projects, locations, or departments.

For now, we’d suggest using manual journals to split and reallocate payroll costs after a pay run. Alternatively as some have shared, you could create specific pay items for each tracking category combination, although we recognise this may not be suitable for all.

While this isn’t in our plans at this stage we understand the rationale here and will consider how tracking works within payroll closely as we continue to develop our roadmap.

If there are any changes or news for tracking in payroll we’ll be sure to update you of this here.

As we already have two tracking categories used for our accounts, we are not able to set up Employee Groups for payroll!!!
Employee groups should be in Payroll as Standard.
Be better if Payroll was a standalone package.

Thanks everyone for your feedback on the invoice print option. We know how much our customers value efficient workflows, and appreciate you sharing your thoughts on how the current "Print PDF" button works.

For those of you looking for a smoother printing experience, a helpful workaround is to set your browser to automatically open PDFs in your preferred viewer after downloading. This can save you a few clicks in the process.

In the interest of transparency, a direct print PDF functionality that go through the download step isn't in our development plans.

You can continue to vote on this idea so if our position changes in the future we will update you all, here.

Hi everyone, our product teams are continuously reviewing and reprioritising their roadmaps for future work and although we don’t have any plans to change the credit application process this year, this is something we will investigate more closely in 2026.

As we begin to explore work for enabling credit notes in the bill payments flow, we’ll reach out for input to help us shape the design and approach so we cater for the widest possible requirements. Thank you all, and we’ll be back to share when exploration starts.

Hi community, we appreciate the continued traction this idea's received, and do want to provide clarity and set expectation.

Your feedback has been valuable in understanding the needs of using description only lines to; add subheadings, provide context for grouped charges, and ensure your invoices are easy for your clients to read and understand.

To reconfirm, atm - You can add one-off description only lines as you enter an invoice. However, if you add detail to any other field the line will be treated as a 'financial' line and you'll need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax rate.

    • We know some users have set up and saved inventory items for description only lines they commonly use, however as the item code field is used for inventory items the line of the invoice is treated as 'financial' meaning you'll then need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax…
