Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on archived returns in jobs. We appreciate you sharing how important it is to keep archived returns visible within their original jobs for practice management.

Appreciate the feedback and hearing what information would be most useful for you on the new Xero Partner Hub homepage.
This is something our product team have eyes on for the longer term but there are a few other pieces of work lined up first.
For now we'll continue to track interest of this here and I'll share as soon as there are any updates.

Even when a job is closed and archived, unrelated entities are still showing in the archived job.
If you then click on one of these unrelated entities, it is automatically added to the job, despite having no connection to that client.
It looks like the system is now reading client types rather than client groups, which is causing entities to be pulled in incorrectly.
This needs to be fixed urgently.
At this point, there is no trust in XPH/XPM. We cannot tell what is feeding into what. There are duplicates everywhere, basic controls are missing, and functionality has gone backwards.
As an accounting practice, this is extremely concerning. We are worried about:
incorrect client information appearing where it shouldn’t
jobs including entities with no relationship to the client
the risk of information being incorrectly displayed or shared
This is not just frustrating — it is a practice risk!

Hi team, really good to hear your feedback on what could improve your experience with new Tax Manager which is currently in beta.
We're listening to the feedback we're receiving about this from our community and while not in the works just yet, the ability to save custom filters is a feature we plan to develop.
You can get more of a view of what's to come in Tax Manager through Xero Central, and I'll keep you updated here once this idea progresses with the team.

Hi everyone, we appreciate your feedback and would like to share an update on this idea.
Tax Manager is a new feature currently in beta and was released early to give users access to ready to start returns and the lodgment widget.
There are a number of additional features being worked on to enhance Tax Manager that you can read up about on Xero Central, and you'll also notice a 'Coming soon' button within Tax Manager to see what's in the pipeline.
Showing the count of returns based on their status is something we're currently working on and I'll share again here when this is released. Thanks for your contributions on product ideas.

Please reinstate totals (count) to Tax Manager subfolders. It is really helpful from a workflow perspective.

Hi everyone, we appreciate the feedback we've received on this change and while this was an intentional change this is something our product teams are monitoring feedback of very closely and considering improvements around in the new clients experience.

From an accounting and practice management perspective, it’s extremely disappointing to see a system that worked really well (and that we genuinely valued) now broken. It has moved beyond inconvenience and into practice risk. Check the issues with the 'new' Tax Manager!
While we’re being told to “stop beta”, the reality is that many of these changes are applying across all users regardless, so they can’t be avoided.
Hopefully Xero can lift the platform back to the standard it was previously operating at.

Contacts should have the same merge functionality as Clients, allowing consolidation of duplicate records. This feature previously existed in XPM (for Contacts) and should be reinstated.

Hi Rochelle, thanks for bringing this up. When you’re working across a large client list, having a clearer signal of what’s changing can make a big difference. A Client Activity Toolbar could give practices a quicker sense of where things are moving and where a nudge might be needed.
Rather than jumping in and out of individual part of XPH, this kind of view could help you prioritise what to focus on.

Hey Louis, thanks for bringing this up! Having client info in both the Partner Hub and your practice contacts gives you flexibility, but it would be even smoother if updates could flow automatically between them.
Right now, exporting your client list from the Hub and importing it into your practice contacts is a simple way to refresh records in bulk. It’s a handy way to keep everything up to date.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so the product team can see how helpful a more connected, unified experience would be for Partners.

Hi everyone, we understand interest and how bulk action in the new Tax Manager would improve efficiency when preparing tax for your clients.
Tax Manager is a new experience that is currently in beta in Xero Partner Hub. Bulk actions high on the list of what's coming soon as we build features into this experience.
We appreciate the importance of bulk actions to everyone here and will be sure to update you all as soon as this is rolled out.

Bulk update functionality is critical, particularly for filing. The Tax Agent is required to complete the “filing” step, as this action formally stamps the return as filed by the Tax Agent.
The bulk update option enables this process to be completed efficiently and accurately in minutes. Without it, we are expecting our Tax Agent, who has the highest charge-out rate, to spend up to an hour during peak periods completing repetitive administrative tasks that add no value and significantly reduce efficiency.

Thanks for feeding back on the Client search, Carey. The way that search works for the new client list experience is a little different to the older experience, and partial matching is not a feature with this new search.
While it's not in our roadmap atm, our team are keen to stay close the support this idea receives and will consider in future planning. I'll share if there are any updates here.

Hi there!
Thanks for sharing this detailed feedback about the GST workflow in XPM.
I can certainly see how the extra steps of clearing fields manually feel like a step backward from the previous experience, especially when you're managing multiple client updates.
Currently, the new XPM interface requires those fields to be emptied before the section can be fully "deactivated" from the client summary. If you find the information is still showing after you've unticked the box, it’s usually because those greyed-out fields still contain data that Xero is trying to preserve.
