  1. Being able to click on the summary page to show what is entered in that field would be good or a drop down box on the BAS summary page. Having to scroll through sales to get to the expenses is time consuming.

  2. When generating an Activity Statement for the GST wouldn't it be great if the information is automatically added to the Bills you need to pay?

This way a person won't forget to pay their GST payment and can even easily include a default date that it has to be paid by

  3. Custom Reports: It would be great to be able to add a formula row in the custom reports that can display as a percentage. For example GP% and NP%
Or just have the ability to add a GP% and NP% row.

Hi all, thank you for staying tuned in with us through this idea. Wanting to keep you looped in on updates for this feature - our product team have now been able to pick the work they'd explored back up in this space and I'm pleased to share this is now in active development! I'll be back to share again when this starts rolling out. 😊

  4. Adding staff working on a project without giving them access to Xero.

There is absolutely not need for staff to have access to Xero for me to log that they have worked on a project for 8 hours at £xx rate per hour.

I don't want to add this information to the ledger as the staff are payrolled so I cannot enter this as an expense but I would like to diarise time against the project so profitability can be calculated.

  5. Projects is configured to only allow the reporting currency to be used in setting rates or quotes.
It would be great to allow the user to select the quote currency.

  7. Files is a great feature to use, to make it even more user-friendly it would be really useful to have a high level folder e.g. for the current FY, with the info sitting in sub-folders under it. that way you hold multiple years worth of info there, keeping it well-organised, easy to find and manageable.

Thank you for all sharing and adding your vote for the idea, here. We know our customers find great use in Xero Files and developing the ability to create sub folders in Xero Files is something the team are planning to take a deeper dive into in the coming months. For now, we'll move the idea to Under review and I'll come back with more news when this picks up. 😊

  8. Make the Customer Field AutoFill in new invoicing

In the old invoicing - which by the way was must better and more reliable, the customer field would autofill if it was setup to autofill within the customer set up. With the new invoicing this field no longer autofills. Please Fix

  9. The most important information in the statement line is usually at the end of it, the bit that is always hidden. I've been asking for this since 2019. Its a bit frustrating to see that the statement lines in the Reconciliation tab are now showing some kind of machine-generated guess about what the purchase is, when people have been asking for ages for the full statement line to be shown. Can anyone explain why Xero is so reluctant to do this simple thing?

  10. Suggest being able to turn a bill to pay directly into a prepayment or better yet a part prepayment.

The Bills to Pay function doesn't work well (at all?) for prepayments - if a draft bill is received there is no workflow to set it as a prepayment recognised by Xero (although you can set the account to debit as a prepayment). Suggest adding "Record as prepayment" to the bill options drop down.

Even better would be the functionality to record the bill as a part prepayment, many of our bills are for annual service delivery, therefore the bill will…

Hi Matthew and Anthony, appreciate perhaps not as streamlined as you'd like here there is the ability to apply a prepayment to a bill.

In Xero, you would enter the bill to recognise the expense, payment itself would generally be recognised through the bank account when reconciling which is where you can create a prepayment and then apply the credit to the bill.

Alternatively, if you'd like to do this from the bills screen, you could use the create icon (+) in the top blue navigation and select Spend Money when redirected you'll want to switch the 'Spent as' to Prepayment from Direct Payment.

  11. Ability to set default reporting options (default to show account numbers, specify no. of results per page, your own date preferences), along with favourited reports - but have it linked to your Xero user profile rather than the client's file.

I work on multiple files a day and don't want to change their file settings - but manually changing to my preferred reports every time the page refreshes is exhausting.

  12. I'd like an easy way to make a note on a transaction or other unique information without it having to be "found" in the notes and history at the bottom. I'm trying to give a bookkeeper/advisor a bunch of notes at once, and it would hugely helpful if somehow there was a way to send her something or have a "log" of some kind that showed my recent notes, with easy links to the transactions, so I don't have to do screen shots and send outside of Xero etc.

  13. In Account Transactions reports, you should be able to add a column for "modified date". This would be extremely helpful when reconciling between information submitted to HMRC and the information in the nominal. I am no QuickBooks fan, but this is one feature that they have that Xero does not.

  14. I'd like to request the integration of a WesBank loan feed, similar to the bank feed functionality. This addition would significantly improve efficiency in managing loan transactions within Xero.

  15. When raising an invoice, add the functionality to 'select all' lines, to add to assign to a Project.

When creating an invoice, even from within a Project each line has to be manually assigned to a project.
Even if an invoice is copied from a previous one from within the project, the project information is not copied over and each line has to be assigned individually.
This is very onerous, especially when there are numerous invoice lines.

When actions are taken from within a Project, Xero does not seem to carry this information through, which is very poor.

  16. Ability to change a bank account to a different account type. e.g. A bank account that should be an equity type was added as a bank. To resolve this requires adding a new equity account type, transfer the bank account balance and archiving the old account. These could be avoided if we are able to change the account type in the COA.

  17. An import template for importing bank spend and receive money transactions. Now that Datadear is longer available for Xero clients as an app there is no way to import bank transactions

Hi everyone, we appreciate the support we've received through this idea. Without beating around the bush we don't have any short term plans for enabling the import of spend and receive money transactions. This may be something we look into further down the track so we'll continue to track and review the idea here.

For Xero Partners you could look to use the Conversion toolbox to import bank transactions for your clients.

  18. After uploading or emailing files to Xero, have it perform some sort of OCR and create a transaction, or spend money or something. It's almost like opening a beer and not drinking it. Please Xero at least 'take a sip'. Just left MYOB ofter 10 years, this is automatic in MYOB! I think the idea here is to make the computers do more work and we do less......right?

Hi Scott, returning to your idea here I wanted to share a few different options depending on your needs that could help. As you may be aware we have Xero Expenses that has a capture element that will read your receipts that are uploaded to transcribe into the expense claim receipt, alternatively there is the ability to email to bills to capture and create a draft bill in your organisation, and we also have a new feature in bills that'll be rolled out to everyone soon where you can upload a file directly from your device to create a draft bill using the detail of your upload.

  19. Allow a default bank account to be set for Bill Pay or Spend Money transactions

  20. It would be great if there was a feature to display conversion details for invoices that are entered in the base currency. ie - your base currency is GDP and it shows the conversion rate in EUR
