  1. It would be really helpful when merging suppliers if there was an option to keep all contact and financial details with the updated contact. When an existing supplier joins Xero and starts sending Xero generated invoices that you can upload to Xero if the name is even slightly different it creates a new supplier. This could be as basic as Ltd vs Limited. When these contacts are merged all the existing information is deleted and needs to be re-entered. An option to keep all existing contact information would be great.

  5. Option to generate a Notice of Electronic Funds document to send to suppliers requiring immediate proof of payment. Said Notice to include:

    remittance date
    name/contact details of remitting party
    amount
    reference / description for payment being made
    the bank details of both the remitting and beneficiary banks

    Not an original idea but I received a notice from a customer. Today I was asked to submit one to a supplier as proof of payment so they could ship out an urgent delivery but I could not provide one. See sample document attached for reference.

    Hi Nina, this is something I'd recommend engaging your financial institution or bank about. While you can set up and create a payment in Xero, the confirmation of funds transfer would come at the point the money is paid from your actual bank account to the suppliers bank account. 


    If your suggestion however is from the Sales side where you'd like to request your own customers provide proof of payment for invoices you send to them perhaps this could be worked into your organisations branding as part of the payment terms

  12. As is frequently reported in the news, cybercrimes are prevalent and increasing. In light of a security incident experienced by one of our own clients - additional security measures to avoid cyber security issues need to be addressed.
    Being able to safely send invoices electronically that have some type of protection on them is of utmost importance.

    One small step that can easily be made within Xero is to remove the word 'Invoice' from the subject line of the email which basically can lead hackers to where the dollars are.

  13. Can you please add balances to the edit layout function so we can see what we are mapping or where things have automapped? I often need to open the financials in a separate tab while editing the layout because I can't see the balances and it would be nice if I didn't have to do that.

  15. Ability to switch between payroll calendars for an employee with multiple roles eg Jane is on the weekly payroll for her role as studio manager. She is also paid monthly super only for her roles as a sub-contractor yoga teacher.

    So far we have managed this by posting Jane's weekly pay, and then switching the payroll calender to process the super and then switching it back again. The problem is that if Jane is already in a draft weekly payrun the calendar can't be switched until the draft payrun is processed. This makes the process fiddly.

The chart of accounts should really have opening stock, closing stock and dividends as these are items that are usually needed, or perhaps some codes should be blank and we can amend them to our clients needs. The Chart of accounts are currently very basic and when adding a new code it should give you the available codes under each section i.e. for direct costs give an indication of which 300 code is available and where it should be rather than us having to guess.

  18. The New Bills report answers our need for original currency in an awaiting payment report, as a large firm of Accountants we need this for our multinational clients. However we need the Export button to be able to produce a report to approve payments from the client. Please can this be added asap. Thanks

  19. We have had a number of issues relating to modified invoices / documents within Xero. It would be great if there is a way we can setup alerts or email notifications each time certain documents are modified such as invoices or figures on forms etc. This would allow our Financial Controller to oversee all changes made on a global level.

It will be good idea if Xero got facility to have a share holder register (like fixed asset register) with the control account in Equity area or facility to upload share holder details, address, number shares issued, dividends due and paid. currently we maintain this register in excel which is an additional thing to maintain.
