Chart of Accounts - Duplicate existing account
Being new to the business, new to finance and bookkeeping and even newer to Xero we are starting from scratch with our "Chart of Accounts". As we grow and want to create sub accounts for clearer reporting - having to manually 'add account' each time, and reselecting all the appropriate account settings is very time consuming, especially for a novice like me. Being able to right click and choose to duplicate an existing account and then be prompted to rename/renumber it would be so much quicker.
My work around is currently to open up the existing account - take a…

Email templates - Remove the organisation name
As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to only show the organisations logo or to remove the organisation name from the email. This would help in customizing what is shown to recipients/clients.
The best way to get your voice heard is by adding your thoughts to our Xero Product Ideas. Xero Product Ideas is a Xero website where our customers can share and support ideas for change.
I’ve included a link to the Xero Product Ideas page where you can view and support current ideas or create a new one to share your thoughts.
8 votesHi team, the organisation name and logo shown on the invoice email is taken from the organisations details page. You can add your organisations logo on this page which will appear on emails sent from your organisation.

Xero central case - Add year to Case detail in My Cases
Xero Central - please add the year that a case is lodged and each response. At the moment it just has day and month but no year. I have found one of mine from Nov 2022 that the last response is that I would be updated when it is resolved but the case is closed and the only reason I knew it was Nov 2022 is that the attachment I uploaded had the date of the screenshot.

Projects - Add "Invoiced" to Categories.
The 3 Project categories at present are Draft/In Progress/Closed. I would like another category called "Invoiced" so I could see which projects have been invoiced and are waiting for payment before we close them.

Profit & Loss Report - Compare > 200 tracking categories, and bulk select
Thanks for adding the new "compare tracking categories" in the new Profit & Loss Report.
However, even with this additional development the new version of Profit & Loss Report requires you to manually add each tracking category one by one. Having the feature of "select all" reinstated as the old version did would be really helpful.
Having limited tracking categories to 200 isn’t helpful, previously Xero was able to search across an unlimited number of tracking categories, but only report on the active ones.
I’m sure there are many users that have more than 200 tracking categories (not always active…

Invoicing - Approve and view next in sequential order
In the classic invoicing, when I am approving my invoices draft then I click "Approve and view next", it goes in the next invoice subsequent number.
In the new invoicing version, when I click on "Approve and view next", it goes directly to the last invoice number instead of the next one. I have a lot of drafts to approve and it has to be in the right order.
For this reason, I stay with the classing invoicing. I might consider switching back to new invoicing if this issue can be resolve in the future.
74 votesAppreciate your feedback on how you use invoicing and the benefit you find in being able to approve and view the next invoice in sequential invoice number order. As we continue to plan further developments within this space, our product teams would like to engage you all here to get a better sense of our invoicing users for future improvements. We’d find your feedback invaluable and if you’d be interested in sharing with us, please fill in our survey here.

Fixed Assets - Add accumulated depreciation to new assets
When a revalued asset is created (e.g. roads in a local government authority), it is essential that a revalued accumulated depreciation is also able to be added at the same time. This is a basic accounting requirement for councils when they revalue their various infrastructure assets.

Bills List View - Remove 'View' column from the default layout
There is a new completely unnecessary and annoying column named "View" in the Bills reports. I can switch it off each time I open that report, but I would like to reset the default so it doesn't come up ever. To view a bill all I have to do is click into it, so the extra visual of the EYE is just very irritating. It isn't an issue with the Invoices.
2 votesSorry to hear you find the view option an irritancy, Adrienne. This was developed based on customers feedback who wanted to be able to view more intricate detail of bills on the fly without having to navigate away from the list view.
I want to be open that we don't have any plans for removing this, but will continue to track and gauge interest around this through your idea here for now.

Reporting - A more detailed Purchase Order report
Purchase Order Reporting
The current work around of using the Outstanding Purchase Orders Summary report lacks a lot of the vital info that's needed to manage Purchase Orders and create accruals at month end. A report that shows all the - coding, tracking codes, dates, who created and who approved, Description, etc and ability to run reports on only those that are not Billed and both with and without detailed lines would be more helpful.27 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback here. We appreciate there are more details some in the idea here would like to see around reporting of Purchase orders in Xero.
We wanted to highlight for those in the conversation that it may help - There are Purchase order common formats in the Payable Invoice Detail report that you could use.
For example, in the All purchase orders detail report, you can add a column to show the account, tracking and any other line item info you need.
We want to be open that we don't have any plans right now for additional Purchase order reporting, however we'll continue to keep an eye on the idea here and share if there is any news.

New Invoicing | Send - Copy & paste formatting
When pasting content from a Word document that has bullet points and other basic formatting, this formatting is lost and you end up with one large block of unformatted text.
All our invoices have terms and conditions pasted in depending on the application of our products. We have to switch to Classic Invoicing where the formatting functionality still works, before sending the email to the customer, .
Please resolve this urgently before phasing out Classic Invoicing.
An example image is attached with a short portion of our terms and conditions to show the non-existent formatting.

NZ Payroll - Separate "Post" and "Submit to IRD" actions
Currently, when you connect your Xero login to myIR, Xero automatically files the pay run with the IRD as soon as it is posted. Unfortunately, there is no option to opt out of this automatic filing without disconnecting from myIR entirely.
It would be much more flexible if posting and filing could be done as separate steps. While it's possible to have another user who isn't connected to myIR handle this, small businesses often rely on a single person to manage the entire payroll process.
We would prefer to post the pay run, send payslips, complete banking, and then submit…

Invoices - Add invoice number when invoice is Approved
Recently found out that draft invoices are assigned a number once created, even if they are eventually not approved and deleted.
For accounting reasons in Spain, the numbering on all invoices presented has to be consecutive and the fact that draft invoices are assigned a number from the same sequence causes a problem. So basically if a draft invoice ends up being deleted, then when presenting the invoice list to the tax authorities, there is a number missing, which could cause a problem.
My suggestion would be that the sequence number is not assigned until the invoice has been approved…39 votes -
