Profit & Loss - Use Average currency value when reporting in an alternative currency
When presenting the Profit & Loss in a different currency from the file currency the exchange rate is as the last date of the Profit & Loss Statement (P&L). While this is appropriate for the Balance Sheet it is not so for the P&L. I would like to be able to extract a P&L report knowing the figures are based on an average exchange rate for the period as opposed to a single date rate.

In the way Xero works at present the exchange rate is based on the end date of a report or the set exchange rate that was used.

User Role - Access to specific feature only
"Business and accounting" role needs ability to more narrowly define. I want an employee to access invoices (receivables) but that then gives them access to ALL financial reporting, e.g. P&L, which I don't want them to see.

Spreadsheet-style navigation in bills & invoices
Data entry would be much faster if Xero worked like a spreadsheet:
• Enter = down to next row • Tab = across columns
Most users are already used to this behaviour from Excel/Sheets, so it feels natural. It would save time and reduce errors when entering bills and invoices.

Subtotal feature within invoice
Function to have sub total line in the invoice.
Often I have multiple separate jobs on a single invoice that I need to separate out the cost.It could be a selection you could make in the item dropdown column.
Once selected it would be great if you could choose an auto feature or selection feature.
Auto Add: Adds the lines above it until is reaches another "subtotal section"

Profit & Loss - Ability to delete line items when creating custom Profit and Loss reports
Hi, it would be amazing to have the ability to delete certain line items to create custom reports (eg - Profit and Loss). I currently need to export the full report into excel and manually delete the lines, but would be nice to have the option to do this in Xero custom reports

Changing leave type - keep existing information entered
When you go to enter a leave request manually (not employee entered), if you select the dates first, and then realise 'oh I meant this to be sick leave, not annual leave' and change the leave type, the dates 'reset' to current date, and don't retain the information you've already entered.
This means you can accidentally enter an incorrectly dated leave request, having done all the hard work of calculating the hours and dates, then realised at the last second that the 'type' of leave is wrong - everything resets!

The ability to filter Analytics dashboards (ideally the whole dashboard, or individual widgets) by tracking category.
Purpose:
• View performance of each category through the same set of graphs

Bank Reconciliation - Suggestion for color-coding spent and received items.
Our clients would like and update to the bank reconciliation screen, color coding spent items and receive items so that they can tell at a quick glance if it was money that has come in and money that has gone out of the bank account.

AU Payroll - HH:MM entry format for timesheets
It would be wonderful to have the option to use HH:MM format for timesheet entries, instead of only decimal time. Hard to convince employees to do timesheets as it is, but to also ask them to convert two weeks of project works over numerous jobs into decimal format is a big ask! Not many people are used to entering 4.6667 hrs instead of 4hrs 40min. If this is a feature of Xero Practice Manager, can it not be easily made available to the rest of us?

New invoicing - Keep the send button
On the classic invoicing there is a send button at the top by email, print pdf etc that you can use to send to another xero customer. This feature is no longer on the new invoicing version. It would be good to have the send button back

UK Payroll - Add filters to all reports, i.e. leave overview and Auto enrollment.
It will be great to have meaningful payroll reports. E.g., the leave overview is a blunt tool, as it shows all employees, including those who have left. The same applies to the Auto Enrolment Summary Report - it is a basic on-screen report with no filters, etc. And, yes, includes historical employees. Where there are filters, these overlook some choices which should be present. E.g., wage type, which payroll runs are they- monthly, quarterly, weekly, etc

Invoicing – Enable full keyboard entry (date + account number) without mouse clicks
The current “Add Payment” workflow in invoices is inefficient for keyboard users. While manual entry of payment dates has been improved, the account selection still forces users to use the mouse, which breaks the flow.
We need a smoother, full keyboard-navigable process when adding a payment to an invoice:
1.Enter date manually (already possible )
2.Press Tab to move to the Account field
3.Type the account number directly
4. Press Tab or Enter to confirm selection without needing to click the search bar or manually select the account with a mouse

Lock date - Separate lock dates for sales Tax and accounting period
Separation between Sales Tax/VAT/GST lock date and accounting period lock date.
It would save a significant amount of time if VAT periods in Xero could have a separate lock date than the accounting period lock date. For instance, an invoice/bank transaction is still outstanding when filing a VAT return, and the VAT return date could be locked so once this outstanding transaction is completed at a later date, it would automatically appear on the next VAT return. Navigation - Ability to customise menus
New Xero ribbon - can it be amended?
Too much! There are things I don't use or need day to day. "Dashboard" became "home". Ok not great, but okay.
The the "+" icon on the ribbon gives me the shortcut to anything.
Xero has just gone and cluttered it up with stuff I don't need day to day. Like "Payroll" and "Reporting". Anyone else agree/disagree? I want to assure you we did a lot of user research and testing of the new navigation to ensure it would suit the needs of majority of businesses.
We'd like to continue to get a sense of the interest from your idea but want to be upfront that this isn't something we have plans of enabling any time in the near future.

New Invoicing | Send - Copy & paste multiple emails into the To field
When sending a new invoice to a client with multiple contacts, I find the most recent invoice relevant to the current project and copy the email details from the History and Notes entry for the action Invoice Sent.
If there is more than one email address, the old invoicing used to recognise that a comma separated the email addresses. I could paste that into the 'To' box without issue.
BUT IN THE NEW INVOICING, I get an error message when pasting multiple emails into the 'To' box: "One or more email addresses are invalid."

Sales | Batch Deposit in Foreign Currency
Xero currently lacks the capability to bulk pay multi-currency invoices. This creates a significant bottleneck for our clients with a default currency of USD who process hundreds of invoices in EUR each month. While it is possible to import invoices in EUR in bulk, marking each invoice as paid individually is extremely time-consuming and inefficient. Please consider implementing a feature that allows users to bulk pay invoices in the same foreign currency. This enhancement would streamline the workflow for businesses handling large volumes of international transactions, saving time and reducing manual effort.

Online/Offline synching, to enter data when no internet connection.
Offline/Online Syncing Xero Accounting Desktop Program which allows for Backup?
When you dont have internet connection and you need to keep the staff working, obviously the file is not distributed to the cloud, but when the computer gets internet access it Syncs all of its data with the cloud. Xero, when internet connection is lost, you could still use all the same functionality, then once it gets online then it Syncs all the information with the cloud.

If we were to work on a change like this, we'd have to consider the implications this could have if multiple people worked on the same items while they were offline, and how this data would sync when they reconnected to the internet.

Donation receipts
As a charity funded entirely by donation we receive the majority of funds via online bank receipts. Because the bank receipt is standard, I currently manually create a receipt for our donors in word which I can attach to the bank receipt transaction and email to the donor. This is very time-consuming and I think it would be a very easy fix to allow customisation as with invoices

AU Payroll - Report showing historic changes in remuneration
Historical Payroll reporting for analysis.
Reports to show what remuneration each employee was on at a certain period / FY. Comparison reports for same.
Leave balances reports with updated rates, when carrying leave accruals for leave liabilities, rate changes in employee remuneration is commonly the reason for increases in accruals monthly, although not obvious from a reporting summary.
