  1. It appears the design for new invoicing defaults the account code to the original account code if there are no changes to the quantity and value entered. This is an issue where clients copy an invoice format from one period to another but are not certain at that stage as to the volume and value of product to be sold. .

    Appreciate you sharing here, Bill. Just to make sure of your needs here, would you be asking for the ability for the account code to be left blank when copying an invoice to a new draft invoice?

  2. Currently, when you connect your Xero login to myIR, Xero automatically files the pay run with the IRD as soon as it is posted. Unfortunately, there is no option to opt out of this automatic filing without disconnecting from myIR entirely.

    It would be much more flexible if posting and filing could be done as separate steps. While it's possible to have another user who isn't connected to myIR handle this, small businesses often rely on a single person to manage the entire payroll process.

    We would prefer to post the pay run, send payslips, complete banking, and then submit…

  3. You should allow current subscription holders the ability to create reports on all of their data. At the moment if you stop employee staff and therefore downgrade your subscription, XERO removes all payroll reports. So when you need to print a report you cannot without changing your subscription to include payroll again, even they you don't need to pay employees. It costs you a 30 day subscription to print one report. This is a big fault and something I can do in MYOB. Please fix this madness.

  4. We need the ability to further customise User Permissions. For example, a company could have 3 bank accounts and one credit card, all of which need reconciling, but I want two employees to share responsibility. So, employee A can do two bank accounts, and Employee B can do 1 bank account, and one credit card, and each can only see what they are responsible for. Secondly, we should be able to set up a Finance Manager who has certain permissions again separate from all other options. For example we may have a Purchasing Officer with authority to purchase goods/services up…

  6. As someone who is colour blind, I find the Budget Variance Arrows are similar / same colour which makes viewing budget variance at a glance a challenge.

    It would be great to have an option to have lines highlighted a colour if above/below budget instead. Even better if this colour option was customisable.

  7. Ability to enter a PAID Break - This would be particularly helpful in Contruction industry, where most awards provide employees with a paid tea break on OT & Weekend work. This would mean employers will meet their obligations for Start/Finish Times as well as break times.

  8. Hi,

    I would like to suggest a small but valuable improvement to the Projects section in Xero. Currently, in the "Quotes & Invoices" tab within a project, only the invoice number is displayed, which is useful for tracking. However, for many businesses, including ours, it would be incredibly helpful if both the invoice number and the reference field could be shown simultaneously in the project’s invoice summary view.

    This improvement would enhance visibility and make it easier to track project-specific details without losing sight of important invoice numbers.

  9. It would be really useful to be able to tag users in the notes of documents, like to create a task or ticket so they are aware of whatever is needed to be changed/be aware of regarding a certain bill.
    Otherwise an internal communication/ ticket/email needs to be sent, this would simplify all the daily work and make the notes actually useful

Under classic invoicing I can share invoices across the Xero network between Xero entities from different countries (in my case, Australian company invoicing a USA company) Why can't this feature be available under the new invoice format (I don't see what eInvoicing actually has to do with it)

    First time I've seen Xero take a major step backwards (I now have to spend more time doing the same job... well done folks)

  11. I am looking for an alternative to Quickbooks. As a solo consultant, I thought Xero would be the most appropriate fit for my business. Unfortunately, the fact that I need to subscribe to the top pricing plan at $115 per month in order to be able to bill for time is totally unrealistic. I thought Xero promoted itself as being a good fit for small business???? I don't need to track projects, I just need to be able to bill by the hour and invoice my 2 clients on a monthly basis. I'm sure I wouldn't be alone in these…

  13. I'd like to be able to print statements showing "outstanding" and with a running balance but under balance column I only get individual invoice amounts! I'd also like it to show the customer payments as the total payment, not all the individual invoices matched to it.

  14. Financial reporting is a critical business need of any business using software. Its strange that Xero dont have this as a catagory under Small business ideas. Can we add "Reports" as a catagory. Xero is poor compared to quickbooks now so need to udnerstand if its ever going to change or whether we need to move. I will only be able to gauge this if there are lots or zero user ideas on reporting (perhaps its only me that thinks its "ok but not great"

    Thanks for submitting your idea here, Robert. Appreciate where you're coming from. Right now, the structure of product ideas categories is similar to the blue navigation within your Xero org so we typically have reporting ideas under Accounting features. Understand how it mightn't be the most intuitive design atm though and this is something that we're considering making updates to. I'll keep you looped in on any change for this here. 😊

  15. Reports - Quote Summary pulls incorrect column references. Xero dont accept this is an error and think its a product enhancement.
    Currently when you produce a quote report you cannot have a column titled Quote Ref or "Quote date". Xero has a bug which is using "Invoice Ref" and Invoice Date". Obviously for customers of our business they get annoyed that we are sending them reports implying a quote has been accepted and invoiced rather than purely pending. Such a basic error in Xero but they just dont accept the error

As a NFP receiving multiple donations from multiple donors, we require summary of donations/purchases made by the donor/client as a single receipt including each donation/payment's invoice number, date paid, individual amount paid, total amount paid. The summary will need to include the NFP's logo, ABN, etc.

  17. GST Return Export

    It is annoying that the new GST return layout does not export the essential fact that it is a GST return and the period. The new GST return now just exports the business name and the end of period date.

    It needs to have the words "GST Return" or similar.

  18. Add external certifications to Xero Payroll profiles:

    Hello again Karolin,
    My query was not about being certified with Xero, but that I have been certified for Safety Training and have it listed against my Xero Payroll Profile, this would keep all staff certifications in one place.

    (Providing the link for Xero Certification is off the mark from what my query was, however it would be quite a good idea to do Xero Certification and keep it in the same payroll profile once done, then I can have TWO by certifications in the one place....)

    Hi there 👋, appreciate you sharing your idea in community. Just to make sure I understand correctly when you say you'd like to add external certifications to the payroll profile - would this be that you'd like to attach a document of the certification to an employee that you process payroll for on Xero?

    If so, we have a larger idea that I'll merge you in with across here and if there is any progress surrounding this we'll update everyone about.

  19. It'd be great when switching projects if you could auto-fill the timer fields by clicking on an existing time entry in your list for today or a previous date as this would cut the admin time of filling out the timer form fields.
