  1. Currently a client can upload a number of invoices and then create a batch payment for these invoices. When they make a payment for 1 of the invoices in the batch, you have to remove and redo the payment then match the separate invoice up, and then recreate the batch payment, excluding the amount which has now been paid. Would be easier if like with invoices, the batch payment could be split, saving the new to remove and then recreate the batch payment.

Hi everyone, thanks for the idea and support here. We appreciate all the valuable feedback and ideas shared regarding the ability to split batch payments when reconciling, and understand it currently takes extra steps to reconcile when a single invoice among a batch has been paid, or when there are multiple payments to the same entity for different invoices.
Being transparent, we don’t have direct plans for making this change within the foreseeable future but if anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

Appreciate you sharing ideas from your own clients, David. It'd be great to know more of how this could help their business or the reasons why they'd like to see the post code in this report specifically.

Atm, if needing a full list of contacts and their post codes perhaps an export from Contacts would be of use. Thanks

  4. It would be great if Xero could automatically attach the remittance advice to each invoice after making a batch payment?
This would save time when we get queries from suppliers as to the status of their payments, rather than searching for the batch remitttance and emailing it to the supplier again, it can be easily found as it will be attached to the paid invoice.

  6. Hi

On the repeating invoices tab, can we please have the total amount showing of repeating monthly invoices.. Just as it shows the awaiting invoices value on that tab.

This will help business keep an eye on their recurring value income.

  7. As an event company, we often receive bills months after the original project is "complete". I wish I could assign costs to "complete" projects the same way that I can assign invoices to "complete" projects.

Hi Leah, when you've closed/completed a project it is still possible to add Bills and new Expense tasks to it.

From the bill you'll be able to look up and assign lines of your Bill, or within the project you can simply add an expense. The only transactions you can no longer add once closed are Billable expenses, Spend monies and time entries.

Is there a specific reason you need to enter the expense as one of these type of items?

  9. In the new reports you can run a report, by supplier, of invoices that are due and planned to be paid, which is great. There is a differentiation between due and planned in both screen detail and reporting. The schuduled/planning option enables users or managers to plan which invoices they wish to pay either by viewing on Xero or running in a report. However, the reporting option puts the two together by adding in an invoice wiht the same due date, if a planned date has not been entered. This means that invoices not scheduled/planned to be paid are included…

  11. While performing a task of Bulk Income Reconciliation , I have to add Invoice one by one likewise 70123 , 70124, 70125 and so on. This is very time consuming task.
Could we have range over there so that we can directly select all and reconcile the same.

Hi there 👋, for the example you've provided here you could enter "701" into the search field which would search all unreconciled invoices that include this detail in the Invoice Number field.

While not a definitive range this'd enable you to focus on a group of invoices in a sequence - Would this suit for what you're after here?

  12. Does Xero have any plan to put the payment term feature showing on tax invoice in near future? Currently, we setup on each customer record. But the payment term is not printed automatically for each customer. Hope to see this feature soon on all printed invoice.

Hi Emily, there's no way or immediate plans for enabling differing payment terms per contact on invoicing atm.

Right now, if you have differing payment terms for different sets of customers, they way to represent these differences would be through the use of invoice templates.

You can then set a default branding/template to be applied to each of your contacts which'll be auto applied when you raise and send an invoice for them.

  13. This is not an idea; it is a requirement, Xero.
At present, all pay types classified as commissions are being taxed as follows: "The method for Schedule 5 in Xero, calculates the PAYG withholding amount by averaging all additional payments made in the current financial year, over the number of pay periods in a financial year, and applying that to the average total earnings to date".

If commissions are paid every month, they should not be taxed in this manner, as per this ATO web page which says "Do not use this schedule for payments for a single pay period".

  15. It would be useful to be able to reconcile a payment from one foreign bank account (eg USD) for another foreign currency.

We tend to have predominately USD customers and a lot of EUR suppliers, so we find that quite often we make a payment to our EUR supplier out of our USD bank account.

When reconciling this in the bank we have to post a payment to a manual clearing account to then be able to post the payment to the EUR Supplier account to clear the invoices.

It would be useful if the feature shown when reconciling (show…

  16. Currently bill costs are not posted to the accounts until it has been approved. It would be beneficial if once a bill was entered/submitted for approval in xero the costs were shown in the accounts. If the approver is not available to approve the bills it holds up finalising month end accounts.

  19. Back button from the New Batch Payment window should take you to the Awaiting Payment window with the purchase invoices still checked. This has been lost with the upgrade to the Purchases window.

Now, the "back" button from an open batch takes you to the Purchases Overview, so you lose everything you've done

  20. New bank rec reports are based on the start of the month to the current date as a default. The old bank rec report just had an end date. Would like a fast way to move end date field and not have to also alter the start date.

Hey community! As a few of you have rightly pointed out, the previously posted workaround isn’t suitable if your end date is prior to your start date. In this case, you will have to update both start and end fields.

Thank you to everyone that flagged that, and apologies for the confusion.

Because the the Bank Reconciliation summary lives in the Bank Reconciliation reporting pack, the date picker available is the same as the other bank reports (Bank Statement and Statement Exceptions).

Understand that some users would prefer an ‘as-at’ date instead, similar to the older report. In the meantime, you can select the same date in both fields to achieve this.

As that doesn't quite solve this for some users, we're leaving this idea open to continue to collect and share your feedback with our product team.
