  1. Enhance the Duplicate Bill Review screen by enabling direct click-through access to individual bills.

When reviewing potential duplicate bills, it would be helpful to click on any listed bill to open and inspect it directly. This allows users to quickly identify and resolve issues—such as an incorrect reference number—without having to search via another screen. After making corrections, users should be able to refresh the Duplicate Bill Review screen to confirm whether the duplicate warning has been cleared.

    Benefits:

Speeds up the review and correction process

    Reduces back-and-forth navigation

    Improves user experience and efficiency

  2. Sometimes small buisnees is exactly that - a small business without the need for a robust accounting software, but with the requirement for annual online tax filing ability. Effective 2024 all Canadian corporations, with very few execptions, are required to file their corporate tax online.

My understanding is Xero offers this option to UK Accountants & Partners only - not to small businesses.

I suggest this option be made available to the small business that make up most of the country's enterprises. The Canadian government has decreed the online filing method is required from 2024. There are many accounitng programs,…

  3. ABILITY TO AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE ITEM PRICE ON A SPECIFIC DATE

Obviously item prices vary and when we give customers notice of a price change, sometimes this is months in advance. Now I know I could add a note to the item, but seriously, this would mean checking the notes for every item which would become very tiresome + time consuming.
I would like the ability to be able to go into a line item and be able to change the price of the item on a specific date, so that it when that date comes the item price has automatically…

  4. Allow submission of PDF expenses. We frequently see invoices paid on expenses in small businesses that come in by email as PDFs but need to be printed and photographed to upload the expense.

  5. We use the project and task options for all our projects.
Each of our tasks within individual project folders have fixed prices. These fixed prices are often of a substantial amount, with projects scheduled to run up to and at times over a year.
We invoice each task/project for time spent each month till the project is completed.
I would like to have the option to invoice against time spent at the end of each month on each fixed price tasks within each project.
This is currently proving to be a nightmare with options for invoicing time spent only being…

  6. Being able to attach files to a reconcile period. This would be useful to easily reference supporting documents like the statement the period has been reconciled off.

Hi Stephen, appreciate your feedback from this other idea on reconciling to a statement. I've turned this into a new idea that we can begin to track in the forums here and get a sense of the community support for.

Our product team are considering additional functionality including the ability to attach a PDF bank statement to a period however we want to be upfront that we don't have any immediate plans for it just yet. I'll keep you looped in if there are any updates.

  7. Ability to reconcile transactions to a bank statement at the end of a period, and closing it to prevent transactions being deleted or unreconciled in that period.

This feature is currently available to US and CA organizations(https://central.xero.com/s/article/Reconcile-a-period) - This idea is asking for this feature to be extended to all regions.

Hi community, with reconcile period being the most frequently requested feature by our Xero customers in the US and Canada, this feature was released to these regions as a primary. We know in these regions this workflow is more familiar than Xero’s existing bank reconciliation workflow where you categorize and match transactions as you go.

We're evaluating the need for the feature in other regions but at this stage no decision has been made. Our product teams will continue to track the support for this on the idea here, and I'll be sure to share if there are any updates on expanding this feature to other regions.

  8. Why is the next bill feature no longer available in bill preview?
The bill preview is a great feature in awaiting bills, allowing you to view the bill and xero transaction at the same time, before you schedule a bill for payment. There were up and down arrows allowing you to move through all the bill transactions & their respective invoice/s that were awaiting payment.

However, in the last week it is no longer available. You have to keep clicking in and out of each bill to preview. Its time consuming. Can we please have this feature back?

  9. Most people using accounting software are keyboard proficient. Having to use a mouse to see and click on drop down lists is inefficient. This is particularly bad when applying payments to the new invoicing system. I can see you've updated this so that you can tab across when you're creating a new invoice - please extend this functionality to the payment field. (All we really want is for you to #BringBackClassicInvoicing)

Hi Amanda, are there any particular fields you're having issues tabbing through in the payments window? We recently released a change so you can now type in dates rather than having to choose from the calendar.

  10. There are often periodic top up payments for accounts (e.g. Tolls) and a periodic statement provided after the fact.

It would be useful to be able to set up a bank rule to apply these and reconcile the prepayments as the statements come in.

  11. Copy COMPLETE invoice - all the details.
If you want to copy the complete invoice - contact, date, due date, etc - everything, this can be done . With an existing invoice open, click the contact name in the invoice, click the contact name again ( of course). The Activity Tab is active . To the right of each invoice line is a double box for copy. Click this to get a full copy of the invoice. This also works in Bills.

  12. I would like easier access for entering multiple spend money transactions with a preview screen

    I suggest either;

    1) a separate email to send spend money receipts to like bills have; or

    2) when entering spend money transaction, after clicking save and add another, allow the preview pane to be available after attaching a file so you can still see the details of the receipt when entering (just like the preview is there when you enter a spend money from the files section) otherwise you have to go out of spend money and back to files just so you have…

  13. When sending remittances from batch payments, all suppliers are automatically ticked whether they have an email address or not, but you cannot send any remittances to any suppliers if even one of the ticked ones is missing an email. This is a laborious process to go and untick the suppliers with no email addresses in order to send the rest.

It would be great if suppliers with no email address listed are either:
    1) already unticked, so you have to tick it to add an email and send the remittance to that supplier, but the suppliers with emails will work…

  14. Hi Xero team,

I’m reaching out from a regional local government in Western Australia. We want to use Xero and appreciate its simplicity and usability. However, we’ve found that Xero’s current design is limiting for local government requirements — particularly in terms of transaction volume, internal controls, audit reporting, governance, and integrated project accounting.

I believe there’s a compelling opportunity for Xero to consider developing a dedicated “Local Government” edition or expansion, especially tailored for smaller regional councils. There are over 500 local governments in Australia, many of which are seeking modern, cloud-based, ERP solutions that balance simplicity with the…

  15. It has been observed customers who are late with invoices shield themselves buy saying if your statement of account is not updated/accurate we don't or wont pay till it is. This can be overcome with enabling SOA reminders which collate ALL overdue invoices to one reminder. Even better if it can be stapled to new invoices still within terms.

  16. The ability to have a set lock date EACH month. For example, every month by the 5th the prior month is locked for users other than the advisers. Currently you can manually do this, IF you remember.

My issues is, if I do not remember the accounting clerk will go back multiple months creating entries and causing issues.

  17. Purchase Orders - ability for the suppliers that you send the Purchase Order, to view the document online and have the option to import the Purchase Order to Quotes and Sales Invoices.

The Purchase order area of Xero feels a bit underdeveloped at the moment. However, one strong step would be to allow Purchase orders sent by Company A from their Xero account to be transferred to Company B's Xero Sales area at the click of a button (giving an option of Quote or direct to sales invoice).

This is already set up on the Sale side, where Company A…

  18. Fixed Assets - Add tax depreciation for UK
At the moment, only the Australian version of Xero offers a tax depreciation function. We need this feature in the UK version too if Xero Tax is to be considered as a serious Tax software.

  19. There isn't anywhere in Xero where we can add brief feedback. This would be helpful to have in the help menu please.

For example there is a new issue after the new updates on invoicing - this feature would allow a quick notification to Xero that something needs fixed or we are super impressed with new changes! It takes too long to add something to product ideas (like now), to be ignored or gather a lot of voters before something is fixed. Same with raising a case, most of the time it wont be a fix, we get directed back…

  20. Re: New Invoicing - Reduce Number of steps and clicks (The original thread has had comments turned off, so I can't comment that it has made more steps, not less...)

What has happened here...it is now taking eight tab clicks to get from Reference Number to the first box to input the item code...last week it was six...so the number of click has increased, not decreased.

Also, when inputting an item code, I have multiple codes that have the same base code with different suffixes...is there are way to just get it to the shaded part that you select the…
