  1. Under Customers Accounts, File Attachments - Move the View button for the attachment to the LEFT side and keep the Delete button on the RIGHT side of the attachment. NOT next to each other.

    Multiple times, we have accidentally deleted important files from the customer contact account.

    Hi Sherri, thanks for your feedback. I know you started your idea in the Navigation and Homepage forum however this appears to relate to the Contacts page where you attach files to a contacts record.

    I've slightly update the title of your idea and moved this across forums. We will start to get a sense of the interest in this from the community here.

  2. When running reports to review Staff costs & looking into account transactions, Payroll journals provide descriptions that don't give correct/clear context. For example, under Employers Pension Contributions, the description provided is "Benefits" rather than Employers Pension Contributions. Or under Employment Costs it just says Earnings rather than "Gross Earnings". A final example was when an employee took unpaid leave, however the only description provided was "Deductions". This does not reflect clear context. It would be helpful if Xero had the means to be able to customise these descriptions or maybe have the option to ask Payroll/Reports to mirror the descriptions…

  4. The new tabs are nominated as Purchases and Sales but some of their sub tabs go beyond that. I would prefer to label them Payments and Receipts

  5. Payroll Activity Summary to show per employee, not just as a total for all employees. Currently you have to select each employee to generate the totals for 1 employee and if you have 100 employees, that's 100 reports instead of just 1.
    Exactly like MYOB does it, sample MYOB report attached.

  6. I was wondering if it was possible to get surcharge not added into the total charge that stripe uses to get their processing fee. I always thought that the surcharge total would be like the money that they took their charge from which is why I added the surcharge anyway. It ends up being that stripe adds the surcharge in with the base charge on the customer invoice and then takes out their processing fee. I don't think that is right though. It should be a way for stripe to only charge their processing fee to the base cost of…

    Hi Matthew, we really appreciate you adding your thoughts and voting on this idea. It's clear that having more flexibility around how Stripe surcharges are handled would make a difference—especially when it comes to simplifying reconciliation.

    Not being able to exclude the surcharge amount from the Stripe fee calculation has come up from a few of you. It’s helpful to understand exactly where the pain points are and how they affect your day-to-day.

  8. The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) allows partners to fill out and submit a Partnership Tax Return (PTR) without being a registered tax agent or accountant. However, TPR is currently only available in Xero Tax, which is a professional tax preparation software package designed specifically (and only) for registered tax agents and accountants.

    Can I request that (like BAS and TPAR) the PTR report and lodgement features be made available in the base Xero software?

  10. Hi Xero Support,

    We've been generating individual e-invoice from Xero/Invoici for months, however, we could not find any report on e-invoice generated through Xero/Invoici.

    This report could help us in ensuring accuracy of the data exported to MyInvois portal. We would require a specific report on the generated individual e-invoices to make sure that they tally with the sales invoices report from Xero.

  11. The current “Add Payment” workflow in invoices is inefficient for keyboard users. While manual entry of payment dates has been improved, the account selection still forces users to use the mouse, which breaks the flow.
    We need a smoother, full keyboard-navigable process when adding a payment to an invoice:
    1.Enter date manually (already possible )
    2.Press Tab to move to the Account field
    3.Type the account number directly
    4. Press Tab or Enter to confirm selection without needing to click the search bar or manually select the account with a mouse

When we eventually have to submit quarterly IT reports to HMRC, it will be very very helpful to be able to select which income accounts, and which expense accounts are include in the submission. Similar to being able to produce a custom profit and loss report. The reason being that some income or expense categories might be something that only gets included in the year end tax return calculations. My particular scenario as a sole trader is operating only one bank account, into which goes all my income, but out of which comes not only 100% business expenses, but also…

  15. Suggestions to improve the reporting of GST Audit Beta

    1. Allow us to select which Tax Codes to display in report (default All)

    2. Show the tax code in each row rather than as a report subheader. Useful when there are lots of records for some tax codes

I noticed that we can select Reference field for the columns, but not Invoice No. If the entry's Ref field is blank, the report shows the Invoice No. So this is misrepresenting the report, and showing inaccurate results as no one analysing the report would know if they are seeing the Ref no or…

    Hey Steve, thanks for sharing this idea. We get that it’s an extra step having to create a job sheet in another tool after you’ve already prepared the quote in Xero, and how a more streamlined flow would save you time.

    One option for now is to use Xero Projects to track time and expenses against your work. While we know this doesn't give you that specific printable job sheet for your team on the go, it's the best way to manage the work in Xero right now. Another user has also helpfully highlighted how they use quote templates to create job sheets in Xero.

    Alternatively, as you’ve mentioned, there are options on the Xero App Store that may provide the solution you’re looking for here.

  18. Save and Next option for Timesheet approval.

    Rather than having to go back to the beginning for each and every timesheet approval you should be able to save and view next in the same way you can with bills.
