    Hi everyone, thank you for your engagement here in product ideas. While we appreciate wanting a direct option to be able to restart or restore an organisation at a point in time this isn't something we have intentions of developing for in Xero atm.

    Xero performs daily backups of customer data to protect against data corruption and hosting service failures. However, these backups are not available for users to restore their organisation to a previous state.

    Many actions in Xero are reversible (for example Remove & Redo on bank transactions) we have a help article on Xero Central that may help for some of the scenario's you're after, you may find the History & Notes is useful in determining what actions have been recently made so you can 'undo' these.

  2. We receive an email each month with a link to the invoice, which we can then print to a pdf to download & attach to another email to send to Hubdoc or Xero Bills.
    Many businesses have a 'do not click links' policy.
    Please attach the pdf invoice to the original email to save all your users those extra clicks.

  3. Hi,
    Something that would be very helpful as an accountant, is the ability to run a report for a given date which shows all the transactions where the VAT was claimed/paid on a later return. I know that the VAT reconciliation report doesn't work with MTD.

    Thanks for sharing and supporting here, everyone.

    For those that aren't already across, though manual at present you could run the Account Transactions report to manually reconcile against your filed VAT returns.

    We appreciate the process could be more automated. Though this isn't something we have immediate change planned around atm, we'll update you here if there's any news.

  4. Ability to change the order of the tasks from the list.

  8. For the new format of the Profit and loss report, only show the tracking categories that actually have a balance. Therefore do not show with nil balance.
    Currently have to adjust the report to remove the relevant columns which is time & $.

    The old version did this automatically!

    Hi everyone, right now the only way to edit a cover page in Xero is when you're publishing the report template. 

    Then you can change the Title, Date and Prepared by options. To further change the cover page, you can export the report template to a PDF file and customise it using a PDF editor. This would also be an option for editing the page numbers


    We made some changes in Report styles for our new reports in 2021, though this is only for practice users - They now have the option to choose from four font sizes, and can add a text watermark to exported draft and published reports. 


    We don't have plans to develop this functionality further in Xero atm, but we'll keep you updated if our plans change.

    Hi everyone, further to my recent update about our teams looking closer into the flows around attaching files to invoices, our product team have also started more research to get a better sense of our invoicing users for future improvements. We wanted to reach out to you all here to invite you to contribute through this survey. All your feedback will be deeply valuable to the team.

  11. New bills screen - bugs/design that need to be fixed:
    - when filtering the currency column disappears
    - the planned date font size is smaller than the due date font size meaning I can't zoom the screen
    - the from column isn't wide enough so most suppliers' names are wrapping, meaning each transaction takes up 2 lines and results in fewer transactions on one screen and more scrolling, whereas there is wasted space between the planned date, paid and due date columns which could be made narrower

  12. It would useful to be able to have an edit function that allows you to change a bill to an invoice and vice versa. As clients tend to confuse these and it takes a lot of steps to copy the information over and delete the mistake.

    Hi Lilly, with Xero expenses you can upload a copy of a receipt and have it auto capture the contents to create an expense through the app - See more on this here

    Is there a reason you'd prefer to email receipts to your org over the existing method? Will help when sharing back with the team.

  15. Please enable assigning manual journals to projects and for project reports to also include the account name / account code.

    The benefits from using tracking categories far outweigh that of Xero project if features like manual journal and account transactions report is not able to reflect or is not consistent with the use of Xero projects.

    Please also consider producing a warning if project name is being duplicated. Another thing that should be critically considered is to include projects under the Find & Recode feature.

    Hi everyone, a few different asks within the idea here and I'd like to confirm what is currently possible to help clarify. 

    We have recently released a new send modal with new invoicing - with this update you now have the ability to cc and Bcc emails when sending individual invoices from Xero with new invoicing. 

    While it's not possible to set default cc and Bcc email at the email template level at present this may be something we look into further down the line and we will keep you updated of any planned improvements through this idea. 

    For the time being, if there are other people for a contact that you'd like to ensure also receive emails you can add them as additional people to the Contact record and select to 'Include this person in emails sent to this contact'

  18. Xero currently lacks the capability to bulk pay multi-currency invoices. This creates a significant bottleneck for our clients with a default currency of USD who process hundreds of invoices in EUR each month. While it is possible to import invoices in EUR in bulk, marking each invoice as paid individually is extremely time-consuming and inefficient. Please consider implementing a feature that allows users to bulk pay invoices in the same foreign currency. This enhancement would streamline the workflow for businesses handling large volumes of international transactions, saving time and reducing manual effort.

  19. I can see multiple suggestions and several thread over a number of years regarding the need for an SMS feature for both customer communication and invoicing. When are you going to add this? The tech is readily available to you. Many other platforms offer this now. Please prioritize this enhancement! Thanks.

    Hi team, we've now extended sending invoices via SMS to customers in the US. This is a free feature for all paid plans in AU and US, and can be used in addition to, or as an alternative to sending an invoice via email.

    See detail on how sending invoices via SMS works on Xero Central.

    Again, at this time there is no way to automate SMS messaging via Invoice reminders. We'll update you if there is any word of this here.

  20. Include a new field in Payroll Employee data with employee number. Employees will have a unique identifier in Xero. For any new employees, Xero will generate a unique number.
