    We want to thank everyone for the attention this idea has drawn. It’s clear from the many votes and detailed comments that having the ability to pay supplier bills with BPAY from Xero is a high-value feature for our Australian customers.

    We understand the desire in this and see how this functionality would enhance your use of Xero, and it is definitely on our radar.

  2. To have a column of back orders/negative items within the Sales Invoices.

    Purpose: Users can easily enter back ordered items rather than doing extra steps of adding 1 more item in their inventory.

    Thanks for the on-going support in this idea, everyone. We're pleased to share that work in inventory and purchase orders is moving along well.

    As noted in our last update, work for negative inventory is in progress, and our team are looking at how this flow works through to sales invoices for backorders. We'll share more as soon as there's news.

  3. We bulk upload invoices in advance with "Draft" invoice numbers as we don't know their ultimate sequence for issue. We then assign a chronological invoice number when the invoice is approved and/or saved. In "Classic" invoicing, if I delete the invoice number it automatically assigned the next number in sequence e.g. #INV-0089, however in "New" invoicing if I delete the invoice number is warns me that I need a number and reverts to the original "Draft" number" and not the next chronological number in sequence.     Hi team, we appreciate the added feedback from you on the behaviours from classic that you'd find useful in new invoicing. The invoice number assignment is still a feature that our teams are continuing to monitor closely. Right now, while we don’t have plans for changing the way invoice numbers are assigned, our product teams are considering future improvements - As part of this they are doing some discovery that we’d love to get your contribution to.

  4. Currently, the stock is not updated until the bill is entered. Many times the deliveries can be part-deliveries or billed on multiple bills. It is impossible to part bill and update the stock for the delivered items
    Also, we can get billed before any order is even processed by the supplier. To match the bill with the purchase order, it needs to be entered through the purchase order, which updates the stock before it has even arrived in store.
    We need the ability to update the stock record in Xero at the time of delivery, not on billing date.

    We're in the midst of developing a refreshed purchase orders experience, that gives us the basis for new features.

    As you may have seen in other recent updates, we have a keen eye on developing backorders, recording part amounts billed and allowing negative stock on hand in Xero.

    Hi all, appreciate the interest and rationale in wanting to be able to recognise revenue of a sale at a date different to that of the invoice or payment date.

    While this maybe a function we look to explore in the long-term we want to be upfront that this is not something we'll be developing in the near term. In the meantime it may be best to look into connected apps that can solve for revenue recognition. We'll be sure to let you know if there's any change around this, here.

  6. Petition for Xero Executives Regarding Alleged "Improvements"

    I encourage Xero Subscribers and other customers to start commenting and upvoting so we can show the Executives that these "improvements" are NOT improvements!

    • what’s available in new invoicing right now,
    • timelines for features and enhancements going live in new invoicing, as well as

    Hi community,

    I wanted to let you know that the product and tech team have been following this thread and have been listening to your interest in the functionality. We do understand the frustration it’s causing when dealing with a large number of invoices awaiting payment. Your time is valuable, and the challenges you’ve encountered are not reflective of the seamless experience we aim to provide.

    However, we are not able to build everything at once. And as a global business with many requests for our different regions and needs, when it comes to payments, we are prioritizing first improving the online invoicing experience to allow more payers to pay online. That is the most critical functionality as we know those using online payments, get paid faster. There are still some critical needs here.

    Thanks for your continued input and contribution to this idea. We've now released an improved send experience for new invoicing, where you have a side by side view to give you full visibility of what's being sent. Encompassed in this is also the ability to CC and BCC others in the email😊.

    For the time being this is limited to sending from the invoice itself and won't apply to Invoice Reminder emails. However, we are thinking ahead and will look to expand this capability in time. We'll keep you updated of any further progress of this here.

  10. On the Sales menu, I would like a sub-menu/fly-out to the right of Invoices with links to the Draft, Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Payment, Paid, and Repeating tabs on the Invoices page. This would enable me to go directly to the tab I want, saving a click or two, and reduce page load time instead of always landing on the default tab then having to click the one I actually want. Clicking Invoices should still go to the All tab. Same could be done on the Purchases menu for Bills.

    Understanding that sub menus or more levelled drop downs could be helpful in some places, this is an idea our product team have a close eye on.

  13. Delivery Address:

    To have the ability to add a delivery address when raising an invoice that can be printed onto the invoice. This would need to permanently save the delivery address to that invoice. When a new invoice to the same customer is raised then have the ability to enter another delivery address if required without effecting the previous invoice delivery address.

  14. Can the items per page be made an updateable default on all tabs? i.e. remember my setting until I change it again. So, on the contacts page I'd like to select 200 per page and have Xero remember that preference until I change it again.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate that as eInvoicing is adopted by more regions and businesses the appetite for supporting eInvoicing across more of Xero’s features is growing.

    Over the coming months our product team will be looking into updates to Xero’s repeat invoices templates and support for eInvoicing within these is something that's on our teams radar. When we get to picking this up and being able to explore this deeper, we’ll keep you updated and share if there are any opportunities to bring you into our discovery.

  16. When a person has more than 5 organizations in their portfolio the 'Change of Organization' drop down list only shows the most recent 5 used. It would be helpful if ALL your organizations showed on screen to choose from. Or of course, having the option to reduce to the 5 normal.

  17. It would be great to be able to group certain lines of an invoice together (for example by adding some spacing between groups), to make long invoices more readable and logically coherent.

    It used to be possible to add spacing on the Classic invoicing page by pressing Enter a few times on the description field, but this no longer works on the New invoicing.

    Hi team, thanks for sharing detail of the value in this idea in the ways you invoice.

    We've just released a new line item grid in invoicing which includes the ability to manually add blank rows and shift these to where you're like them placed in your invoice.

    That said, I want to be transparent in how this works - When you save your invoice any blank lines will be removed. So, if you'd like blank lines to help break your invoice into sections, you'll need to enter a character in the Description field of the blank line. Even a full stop '.' or dash '-' would suffice. 

  18. Re: Handling of Mutly-currency/translating foreign currency amounts into the functional currency

    Multy currency is currently not fully supported in xero.

    A foreign currency transaction should be recorded initially at the rate of exchange at the date of the transaction and then, at each subsequent balance sheet date, foreign currency monetary amounts should be reported using the closing rate.

    This is true in xero only for Bank accounts, accounts receivables and payables set in foreign currency but not for other account.
    As a result users are required to input periodical manual adjustments at each balance sheet date.

    Thanks for your interest and sharing how improvements to Xero Inventory could enhance your experience using Xero.

    Tracking of inventory for manufacturing isn't something we have direct plans of right now, however as you may have seen from my update on this idea we have started exploring development for bundling of inventory in Xero.

    At this point, our product team have some early concepts and they'd like to engage our community for feedback on these.

    Knowing your interests here, we'd like to invite you to share back on the teams work for bundling inventory. If you'd be able to give some of your time, please fill in this short form.
