  1. It would be incredibly helpful if 'Quantities' & ' Unit Price' were included as column options in the Account Transactions report.

    This way one can quickly review the quantity & price of each entry without having to drill down into each individual entry. It would also provide a total quantity and average unit price for the given period.

    The example that I am referring to is on a farm business where we would like to review the tonnes of crop sold and the price.

  2. Instead of using spreadsheets, it would be very handy for Xero to have prepayment & accruals schedules built-in that act similar to the Fixed Asset function.

    For example, when you allocated a new invoice to the prepayment nominal, Xero would detect that transaction and add it to the schedule. At the end of the month, you access the Prepayment & Accruals screen, go to drafts, and fill out a form giving it the period with su[plier, start date, end date and number of days/weeks/months it lasts (this would determine how often a journal is created when ran).     Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on prepayment and accrual schedules. We appreciate you explaining how important this is for your month-end processes and workflow efficiency.

    I’d like you to know your idea's been carefully reviewed by our product team. They appreciate and understand the need for tracking revenue and expenditure related to prepayments and accruals, however at this time with other initiatives in the roadmap such as improving the bill creation and payment processes there are currently no plans for this in the pipeline.

    We’re keeping a close account of the support in this here, and will continue to review this opportunity within future planning. If there’s any progress made I’ll be sure to share with you all, here.

  3. Would like a report showing a list of bank account number changes. This would show original bank account number, new bank account number, contact's name, date the bank account number was amended and who amended the bank account number and to be able to print this as a pdf. This would be of great benefit because of fraud and also our Auditor has asked if we can produce a list of bank account number changes for a selected period.

    Hi everyone, while we don't have a direct report for this, some changes we've made to History & Notes in Xero will help in achieving what you're in need of here. 

    You can run the History & Notes, filtering by Type = Contact and typing 'Bank account number' in the Search to just view results for this action. 

    If needed you'll be able to export your results to PDF or Excel. 

    Though the contact name doesn't show on screen, you can right click on the Contact in the report to open the contact's record in a new browser tab, that allows you to inspect details without navigating away from your History & Notes results. 

  4. Ability to delete invoices permanently in Xero.

    Purpose: To make the lists of invoices looks cleaner, as the voided invoices will not be listed there. Especially for the ones that’s created accidentally.

  6. Ability to have an alert in Xero when an invoice has been paid.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate your input and sharing detail of how you'd like to see this developed to help suit the needs of your business.
    We want to upfront that we don't have plans for developing this in the next year. However looking further out to the future, our teams will continue to review and consider how they might build inventory in Xero to cater for units of measure.
    If you're after an immediate solution, it might be worth exploring connected apps that can integrate with Xero and cater for your business needs. As soon as there's any change or news around this to share we'll be sure to update our community and all of your interested in this, here.

  10. Ability to edit a bank account without having to delete the transaction and then re-enter it in the correct account.

    Purpose: Save time from deleting the transactions and entering them from scratch in the correct account.

  11. When a selecting the new invoicing platform, you lose certain functions.
    The first function that has been lost is the ability to copy invoice data to a purchase order - this feature needs to added to the new platform as some business use this to purchase items that have been sold from a supplier and makes sure there are no errors.
    The second function is when invoicing from Project the time entered for that project is no longer being allocated to an invoice and showing in the project as not invoiced, this will cause doubling up on billing.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate your continued input and feedback on this feature here. Being able to copy to purchase orders and bills is something our team are monitoring feedback of closely and very much across the this idea, however there are a few other priority pieces of work that are currently of focus.

    Right now, it is still possible to copy an invoice to a purchase order or bill from the list views(Draft, Awaiting approval, Awaiting Payment or Paid tabs). You'll find you can select the invoice/s and click 'Copy to...' - You can find out more detail and ways of doing things within new invoicing through our guide on Xero Central.

    We'll keep you in the know here of any progress or updates for this feature.

  12. Ability to integrate budgets by tracking categories with the master overall budget.

    Thanks for your passion and the detailed feedback on this idea, community. We can see how much time is spent manually consolidating tracking category budgets, and why having this roll-up automatically would make a big difference.

    As noted by others in the thread, one option for now is to use a third-party app from the Xero App Store. Some in the community have mentioned tools like Spotlight Reporting or Budget Consolidator are great for this, and it’s a good way to get the insights you’re after.

    While we understand the value this feature would add, it isn't on our immediate roadmap to build right now. We know that's not the news you're hoping for, but we want to be transparent about what's in our current focus - You can get a view of some of the changes coming in the next quarter through our website, The Long and Short of

  13. Ability to reuse invoice number if voided, so the next invoice will use the number from the voided invoice.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your interests and sharing on the idea here. Being totally open, we don't have plans in the near term for any change that'd solve for the idea here. This may be something we consider down the line and will keep the idea here open to continue monitoring.

    For the time being, we wanted to share a way you can remove links from the customer statement using a custom branding theme that you'd apply when sending a statement.

    Once the new branding theme is created, you can select it when printing or sending the customer statement, and the invoice link will be removed.

  15. Dear Xero product team,

    Please could we have an option to Password protect Lock Dates.

    Where certain user can only unlok Lock dates i.e. Accountants or Subscriber

    At the moment anyone can unlock the Lock dates which defeats the purpose of the Lock Dates.

    Thank you for your engagement and feedback on this idea. We’ve seen some great suggestions in this thread on how a password-protected lock date could work. The current lock date feature prevents new transactions from being entered and can only be removed by Advisor level users, but we recognise that some users would benefit from introducing password protection.


    As part of our new Xero Product Idea process, we have recently reviewed the idea and shifted this to “Accepted”. This reflects that this is an idea we’d like to develop, but that this isn’t currently on the roadmap. We'll be back with another update as soon as we have more to share.


  16. in Recurring invoices, placeholders are essential to accurate and meaningful descriptions. Placeholders seem to currently only offer Week, Month & Year but not ‘Day’ or [DATE] or [TODAY]. (with the usual +/- feature). This would be hugely helpful for recurring daily or weekly invoices or for communicating a relevant billing period on a Monthly invoice (that differs from calendar months or calendar weeks) without having to manually update the date in description of every Repeated invoice. Currently more work is required and ALL repeating invoices need manual intervention before approval whereas if this could be automated Bills could be automatically…

    Hi everyone, we're grateful for your feedback on improving Find and Recode, and recognise how sorting by description could enhance your ability to review and recode transactions.

    While not a direct solution, you could filter by Contact and then in the browser Ctrl + F to search highlight keywords in descriptions and find the right transactions. We know it's not perfect, but might help narrow things down.

    To be transparent and provide some clarity here, there are no planned changes to change the functionality within Find & recode right now. We will share if our position around this changes and there are any updates for you all here.
