Billable Expenses - Show Bills that have and haven't been assigned as billable expenses
To have a list that shows bills that have and haven’t been assigned to billable expenses.
Purpose: Users can easily identify which bills that have and haven’t been assigned to billable expenses.
159 votesHi everyone, we appreciate the importance of being able to view and understand where billable expenses have and haven't been assigned. While we have keen eyes on the idea here, with other big pieces of work on the go we want to be open that this is not in the roadmap atm.
We want you to know we're taking on board all your feedback here, and will continue to stay across this, and keep you updated of any news or progress that'll improve visibility for your needs here. -

AU Payroll - Superannuation end of quarter reminder
Would be great if Xero could trigger an automated (email and/or text) reminder to the superannuation payment approver 10, 5 and one days out from the superannuation due date each quarter.
A similar reminder feature already exists in XPM for Activity Statement Lodgements - reminders can be turned on.
Xero also has the ability to automate reminders to Customers around bill payment.
Xero has the email and SMS of the superannaution approver already on file.
Advantage of these reminders:
Super gets paid on time - we're all human and life can take over and sometimes things get missed - a…
157 votesHey everyone! Thanks so much for your feedback and for sharing your thoughts on this. It’s clear from the support this idea has gained that automated reminders for superannuation payments could be a huge help for many of you. We hear you and can see how this could make managing your obligations smoother.
Our product team has taken a look at this and we’re exploring how we can build it in to help you stay on top of the proposed PayDay Super changes. It’s on our roadmap, and we’ll keep you posted as things move forward. 🙂

Reporting - Layout | Option to choose portrait or landscape
Ability to choose either portrait or landscape for aged payable/receivable report layout.
Purpose: To make the layout look more consistent between these two reports.
154 votesHi everyone, understand the confusion in some of the recent comments here. To explain how this works at present - A report will automatically default to portrait or landscape mode based on the width of the report. The more columns you add, Xero will automatically switch the layout from portrait to landscape mode.
The same report should not change from user to user, if you're finding this it may be worth checking your printer fit settings and if these differ.
We don't have plans for developing an option of whether a report prints in landscape or portrait mode atm, but our teams are across the interest of this, so if there's any change we'll share an update on this with you, here.

Lock dates - Ability to add password protection
Dear Xero product team,
Please could we have an option to Password protect Lock Dates.
Where certain user can only unlok Lock dates i.e. Accountants or Subscriber
At the moment anyone can unlock the Lock dates which defeats the purpose of the Lock Dates.
153 votesWe appreciate the interest gathered on this idea, everyone. At this time we don't have any immediate changes planned for lock dates, but as we continue to develop parts of Xero this is something we'll consider as a possible enhancement for lock dates. If there's any news I'll be sure to update you here.

Bank Reconciliation - Repeating spend & receive money transactions
The ability setup repeating spend and receive money transactions would be helpful.
Thank you
153 votesHi team, we appreciate your engagement in the idea here however we want to be open that we don't have any plans for developing repeat spend or receive money transactions atm.
If you have the suggest previous entries option turned on in your bank account, you may find that overtime Xero suggests create transactions based on your previous reconciliations.
Alternatively, you could look to create bank rules for these scenarios where Xero will pick up commonalities in your rules to your statement lines and help with reconciliations.

User Roles - Purchase order only access
We wish to let some of our users have access to purchase orders, raising & viewing etc.
Currently if we give them access to purchase orders it also lets them see supplier balances and also click into the supplier and therefore into the accounts i.e invoices etc.
We would like our staff to just see the purchase orders and raise purchase orders but not have access to anything else.

Bank Feed - Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)
For Xero to expand their bank feed connections to develop a feed that supports Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)
151 votesHi all, just updating the status of this idea to Accepted here, to align with our new statuses for Xero Product ideas. You can read more about this on our blog.
We're also pleased to see in your comments here that CAF have introduced QFX file types for downloading transactions - this'll make manually importing more streamlined until a bank feed is made available.
As per our last update, we appreciate all the interest a feed for CAF has gained and we want you to know this has definitely got attention from our product team, and something they hope to explore in the future however we can't provide any timeframes at this time. I'll be sure to keep you updated of any progress that moves this along. Thanks

Customer Statements - Option to remove links to invoices
Have the option to remove links to invoices on Customer Statements
148 votesHi everyone, thanks for your interests and sharing on the idea here. Being totally open, we don't have plans in the near term for any change that'd solve for the idea here. This may be something we consider down the line and will keep the idea here open to continue monitoring.
For the time being, we wanted to share a way you can remove links from the customer statement using a custom branding theme that you'd apply when sending a statement.
Once the new branding theme is created, you can select it when printing or sending the customer statement, and the invoice link will be removed.

Reconciliation - Ability to reconcile clearing, control, and non-bank accounts in Xero
Ability to reconcile clearing, control and non-bank accounts in Xero.
Purpose: To save time rather than having to copy and paste into excel to reconcile the balance.
148 votesHello everyone, appreciate all your feedback here. To be upfront, we don’t have any plans to develop the ability to reconcile clearing, control and non-bank accounts in the near future.
Some of the technology improvements going on across Xero will create more opportunities for us to explore extending some of the more complex functionality from one part of Xero to another. However, we are some way off from this yet.
That being said, there is the Account transaction report that could be handy in providing a view of both sides of a transaction in Xero. You can include the related account as a column in the report - See more in our help article on this.
Alternatively, if you’re using an external system, you could look into the Xero App store.
Appreciate there are also lots of ways others are using Xero’s to fit their needs - If you…

AU Payroll - Set up second auto super authoriser
Having a 2nd person as a Super Authoriser would be helpful when the 1st person goes on leave.
144 votesHi team, thank you for engaging with us on your needs around auto super. I want to confirm that our product team are aware of your interest in this here.
Right now, there are a few other items that need their immediate attention, so while there are no immediate plans for developing this, it's something they'll continue to review as resource becomes available. If there is any change to share around this we'll update you all through this idea.

AU Payroll | Timesheet - Ability to add allowances of other unit types
When operating tracking income and expenses in two areas, payroll allows for the primary tracking category when setting up the employee and the time sheet allows the secondary tracking option to be selected.
Currently the timesheet option only allows for the 'hours worked' to be allocated to the secondary tracking option. Any allowance can only be added at the pay run which means it cannot be added to the secondary tracking category.
Can we have the ability to add allowances as an option in the timesheet?

Contacts - Auto generate Account Number for a New Contact
When adding a new contact if you use account numbers (which is important to use as a primary key for records) it would be really good if a autogenerated number was assigned as a default (like it does with an invoice number etc.). Currently you have to remember/check what the last account number you've used was.
144 votesHi all, we appreciate this idea has picked up a good amount of interest. This has all been shared with and considered by our product teams.
As the Contacts screen interacts with many other parts of Xero, this work can not commence until the modernisation of other, related systems is complete.
Due to this, we do not expect account numbers to be automatically generated for contacts to be delivered in the coming short-term.
In the meantime however, we're keen to continue collecting feedback and votes on this idea, and we will provide an update here when there's more details to share.

Contacts - Permanently delete if no records
Ability to delete contacts who have no related records/activity.
Purpose: Because some contact that has no record shouldn’t be visible in Xero and can just be deleted.

Repeating Invoices - Day/Date placeholder option
in Recurring invoices, placeholders are essential to accurate and meaningful descriptions. Placeholders seem to currently only offer Week, Month & Year but not ‘Day’ or [DATE] or [TODAY]. (with the usual +/- feature). This would be hugely helpful for recurring daily or weekly invoices or for communicating a relevant billing period on a Monthly invoice (that differs from calendar months or calendar weeks) without having to manually update the date in description of every Repeated invoice. Currently more work is required and ALL repeating invoices need manual intervention before approval whereas if this could be automated Bills could be automatically…

Contact - Notify all users or nominated users when supplier bank account changes.
Ability to have email notification to all users/nominated users when supplier bank account changes.
Purpose: So all people in Xero orgs will immediately know if there’s any unusual activity in supplier bank account detail.
139 votesAppreciate wanting an update from us here, everyone. We know that having more visibility of when a supplier’s bank account details change is important to you and understand that there are some security concerns around this. This is something our product teams are aware of the appetite for, however we want to be upfront that this feature is not planned in the near future.
While not a direct solution to what you’re asking here, it’s worth noting that the ability to change supplier’s bank account details is limited by the bank account admin permission. Advisors will have access to the Assurance dashboard where you’ll be able to get an easy view of any Contacts whose bank account details have been edited, and you can also view this information running the History and Notes report.
