  1. When amending the email which is sent when sending an invoice, I sometimes accidentally touch the screen, causing the screen to swipe down, losing the message. If you swipe down on the email, could this not be saved as a draft with the draft invoice, so I don’t have to start again?

  2. Is it possible to introduce a spending cap in the Xero based on the agreed/ set budget for each expense line to prevent incurring costs above the agreed/ authorised budget?

    If the functionality is in place, raising a purchase order that will take the cost over the authorise budget should not be possible. Better still, if this functionality can be introduced, can it also be implemented at the tracking category level.

    Hi Brice, to confirm this isn't something that exists at present. 

    Right now, there's the ability to set a credit Limit at a customer level but not on a supplier side of things. We have an idea for this here, but appreciate what you're asking based on the budget comparative is a little different and I'll leave this idea separate so we can track he interest in each. 

    Welcome to add your support to the other idea if that's something you'd like to see too.  

  3. Every now and again we have an issue in a client account with someone's User Role being altered without notification.
    I can't figure out if the client is in there making changes without really knowing what they are doing, or if Xero is having a weird glitch.
    (the latter seems unlikely)
    It would be nice if we could pin point who was doing it so we could explain the hassle they are creating!

  4. To be able to search the Tracking Categories on the set up page. Also to have a duplicate warning would be very helpful.

    This search function would stop a Tracking number/ name, being entered twice. The list for us is very long!

  5. Auto-check of an invoice amount and compare it to the customer's maximum ever invoice amount. To avoid a typo eg entered £7000 instead of £700.

    Thanks for the interest in the idea here. As noted in my last update Contact Credit Limits might help some situations but we appreciate may not suit all needs. We don't have any direct change planned for this feature atm, but we'll continue to monitor the interest around this and share if there's any progress with you all, here. 

  6. Small emerging creatives in the performing arts fields, such as bands and musicians, currently are unable to afford accounting software such as Xero, and as a result, often struggle with managing their finances effectively. Especially given the devastating impact of COVID-19, I feel it would be incredibly useful to provide a Xero subscription discount to eligible small and micro businesses, such as the one currently offered to Football Clubs.

  8. When a client opens an invoice or quote Xero shows the IP address of whom ever opened it and the time it was opened. This is especially helpful when multiple people have access to the invoices. It also shows that the client did in fact see the invoice especially when they claim they haven't. Handy tool for chasing payment

    We appreciate your feedback on how we could improve new invoicing, and the details that would help you track when a customers has viewed your invoice. While recording I.P. address of when a user opens an invoice or quote you’ve sent isn’t in the plans right now, we’re continuing development in this space and our product teams would like to engage you all here to get a deepened sense of our invoicing users, for future improvements.   9. I would like long service leave to accrue and update the balance each payrun like annual leave does, i.e. leave available to take in advance. rather than waiting for the accrued LSL to be applied on the anniversary date.

  10. It would be good if you did not have to enter the decimal place when entering dollar amounts. Just saves 1 extra key stroke but that adds up to a lot of keystrokes

Can a way be setup to do Invoicing for Drop-Ship items where we do not need to add inventory, but it is automatically calculated when invoiced to Track how many drop-shipments are being sent in a month and track the difference between the vendor price and customer price. Having to manually add to inventory is a lot of work.

  12. Recent changes to the report layouts when comparing categories means that categories without data no-longer show. It would be great for the user to have the ability to choose whether to include/exclude.
    This is particularly relevant when reporting is exported to Excel for customised reports that cannot be developed within Xero. The exported data out of Xero needs to have same column headings so that lookups in Excel continue to work.
    The recent change has meant that reports we have already developed within Excel that rely on Xero data no-longer work. And is time consuming to add back in columns…

    Appreciate the feedback, Julie. This has generally been to help keep the report clean.

    There aren't any direct plans for adding non used categories back into view but it'd be good to be able to share if there are any specific reports you're commonly using that you'd find this view useful in.

  13. I would like to suggest creating quotes in multiple currencies should be the same as setting the exchange rate. As currently when we choose another currency when creating a quote, while the exchange rate still appears as the custom rate, the exchange rate that appears on the PDF is the default rate. We should all be on the same page.

  14. WorkflowMax has no understanding of foreign currencies. We now have WFM clients that are being invoiced in either Australian or US dollars as opposed to the standard NZ dollars.

    Before sending the invoice from WFM, we set up the contact in Xero to have the following information:
    Under Financial Details: Currency = US Dollar
    Under Sales Defaults: Sales GST = Zero Rated and Branding Theme - US Invoice
    Please see two attachments showing the settings.

    When we send the invoice (Approved) from WFM to Xero, the GST and Branding Theme are correctly picked up but the Currency setting in Xero…

  15. We have requested Downloadable P11's to be made available so we can correct a mistake a previous Xero payroll provider made.
    This is not available in Xero which is causing considerable inconvenience and a lot more manual work.

    This would be a really good idea if this was brought into the payroll package.

    Thanks for raising this as an idea on the site, Rhyse. We don't currently have plans for extending auto sales tax to other regions atm but we're keen to stay close to the interest of this here. I'll let you know if there's anything changes for this, here. 

  17. create a remove and copy option (similar to remove and redo) which then copies all details from the transaction you are deleting to a new transaction to then recode rather than trying to remember all the details from the transaction you are deleting

    Interesting idea, Gary - will be good to get a sense of the interest in this. Can you share more detail of scenarios you're finding you encounter where you need to   copy a transaction to a new one when removing it? 

    Is there a reason editing is not an option?- Or would this commonly be with a payment transaction against an invoice/bill?  

  18. It would be great if Analytics Plus had the option to exclude individual bills.

    For example, our business pays our BAS and PAYG from a sub account.
    We are unable to exclude this from the projection.

  19. I want a negative Reimbursement line item in the Employee Template.
    This can be done in a Payrun, but cannot be done in the Employee Template screen.
    With STP 2 we have some payroll reimbursement entries that need to be processed every pay. They need to be positive and negative entries so that the Wages Payable account does not go out of balance. This can be done in a payrun - why not in the Employee Pay Template. Please see the screenshots.

    Hi team, while it isn't possible to make a negative reimbursement line in an employees pay template, you could set up a deduction pay item.

    A deduction item would function the same as the negative reimbursement line, as well as being able to be added into the employees pay template.

    It'd be good to understand more if there's a reason using a deduction wouldn't be adequate here.

  20. It would be good to be able pick from a pre-defined list of countries. This would enable clean data entry. Also we are syncing data with Hubspot and it is causing issues with matching to pre-defined lists with the CRM
