  1. Chart of Accounts - the ledger codes (a) Entertainment-100% business and (b) Entertainment-0%. Can you change these categories? We accountants all know that the descriptions are misleading.

    Almost all (unqualified) bookkeepers use (a) for client entertainment and claim VAT. Subsequently, accountants blindly treat this category as business expenses, reducing the taxable profit. (i.e. wrongly deduct it for corporation tax purposes) I cannot tell you how many cases I've seen in the past few years.

    Please change the default categories to (a) Staff-only entertainment and (b) Client entertainment?

    Thanks for your feedback, Sadie. We don't have any direct plans for a PDF / Print shortcut atm but we'll feel out the interest from your idea here and let you know if there's any progress.

  3. My EOM reports include PL, BS, Receivables AND payroll. Management report doesn't allow payroll reports to be added. Please allow this to be added to minimise time generating additional reports.

  4. When adding products from suppliers, it would be great to be able to add multiple suppliers details on one product (to save having the same item listed multiple times with each individual suppliers codes/costs etc). For example Supplier 1: Coca Cola Cans, Code: 1234 Cost: £12.99, Supplier 2: Coca Cola Cans, Code: A1244, Cost: £19.50. Rather have Coca Cola saved twice had sections within that product for multiple suppliers.

  5. Xero features a handy inbuilt calculator on its invoices. However, this feature is rather useless if one is populating the invoice with inventory items ("Products and Services") where the Cost Price and Sale Price have already been set, or migrating said items from Projects to a new invoice.

    Having the inbuilt calculator in the Sale Price text box when setting up or updating Inventory Items would eliminate the need to keep switching from Xero to a calculator app to apply the correct markup for each item. Better yet would be a dropdown menu feature like is found in Projects to…

  6. It would be great to be able to edit the detailed time report similar to how we can edit the P&L and balance sheet reports.

    We simply want to add a timesheet sign off area at the bottom of the report, which would be easy to add if that feature was available.

  7. In Singapore, deemed supplies include free samples given to customers at no charge. If input tax was claimed on the purchase of these sample items, businesses are required to account for output tax when giving out the samples. Currently, Xero does not allow sales invoices to be issued at a zero value. As a result, if a sample is given at no charge, the sales invoice does not register any tax code. The workaround is to input a sales value and create a negative line item to ensure the invoice registers the tax code.

    Hi Shae-lyn, when you say you'd like the total column to be editable - Can you share what you would want to edit this too? If you're using an advanced branding theme you may be able to make the changes you're seeking.

  9. When reconciling bank account, then publishing it should display the bank details as setup in chart of accounts - it just just says bank reconciliation. So makes it hard to know which report is which. Once reconciled it should default to the the next date so you don't have to change dates continuously.

  10. Currently the bill payments from Xero option does not support the Co-operative Bank (business). I would like this to be extended to the co-operative as soon as possible. The co-op bank tells me that they support token.io - can you consider supporting this?

  12. Payment processing - when we make a bulk payment on the bills screen they should be sent to a separate tab so that its easy to see when payments are being processed. This would remove the risk of duplication of accidentally processing bulk payments twice.

  13. Hi, Please can we have the ability to allocate past years overpayments to invoices outstanding after the accounts are closed. These accounts do not form part of the main ledgers, being personal accounts, therefore the allocations should be made possible, as they were in Microsoft MOA. This would tidy up much of the personal accounts for customers and suppliers.

    Hi Iris, it sounds like you're using Lock dates here and would like to allocate credit from an overpayment that was created in a locked period to an invoice after the lock date.

    Atm, if you'd like to allocate credit you could either remove the lock date to do this, or apply a refund to the original overpayment and recreate and apply the overpayment for a date post the lock date. We'll continue to track the interest of this here, however want to be open that we don't have plans to change the behaviour of lock dates currently.

  15. Please introduce the ability to connect a wider range of Virgin Money business accounts. At present this is limited to accounts with sort codes starting with 05 or 82. All other accounts, e.g. their high interest savings account that my business has, are forced to do manual uploads of statements.

    We pay Xero enough, and you are happy to shout about less useful changes you make to products so can we have some actual improvements that save small businesses admin time for once!

  16. Please expand the bank account options to include 'SumUp' so small business customers can connect their business accounts, instead of having to use the manual upload option.

    There is an old product idea, but I am starting a new one so it shows up in the new ideas feed.

  20. Our bookkeeper needs an audit file (IAF) to make our annual report. Currently downloading an IAF file is only possible for Singapore clients and not for Xero Global clients. Would be very useful if this would be available for everybody.
