  1. Set Overpayment Allocation Date:
    Currently we are not allowed to change the date when an overpayment is applied to an invoice. It is allocated to the issue date of the invoice.
    The inability to change the date when allocating the overpayment to an invoice is causing problems where payments are now being applied to a closed sales tax period, which in turn causes the need for sales tax amendments and additional report filing.

  4. The "Details" tab lists the employee's age under the "Date of birth" field.

    Having "Employed for # Years & # Months" below the "Start date" field would be handy. It would give a quick, "at a glance" look at how long someone has been employed by a business for estimating notice periods and anticipating imminent entitlement to LSL.

    Attached is what the "Date of birth" currently looks like (I've used my own name and birth year) and a mock-up of what I'm suggesting might look like.

  5. Add the ability to navigate through payroll with keyboard shortcuts. Currently tab takes you out of the input fields rather than navigating to the next available field, which is illogical from a UX perspective. It would also be beneficial to have shortcuts for 'save' and 'save and next' rather than having to navigate down and click next.

  6. NZ Payroll - update minimum wage increases automatically

    There are other payroll system they do this, and with the minimum wage requirements changing every year, there should be an automatic update or prompt to change anyone who is affected by this, to avoid the error in not paying out correctly as per the legislation,

  7. The functionality to be able to raise and approve a Purchase Order which, at the point of approval, would create a double entry in the general ledger. Specifically:

    • Debit a Work in Progress (WIP) expenses account (to reflect anticipated expenditure),

    • Credit a creditors account (to reflect the anticipated liability).

    This would allow the PO to reflect a commitment in the accounts, enabling better management of Work In Progress and projected costs before the supplier invoice arrives.

    In an ideal world, to be able to allocate the PO to a Xero Project, so that WIP and anticipated costs appear…

  8. We tag documents for organisation in Hubdoc, but have no visibility of these in Xero, which makes no sense. These don't need to be editable, but it would make sense that it showed what tags were on an invoice. Even if this was detailed in the history of the invoice. This would be a massive time-saver!

  9. For Spend Money entry, I have two elements that would speed up entry:

    1. Prefill the last entry for that Contact. Most venders (e.g. "Uber") will be the same expense type over and over. Having the 1st item prefill from the last entry will save time.

    2. Right now "Save" is essentially "Save and Close" -- and then "Save & Add Another" creates a new blank item. I would like "Save" to stay on the same screen, so I can then use "Copy" from the "Options" menu to enter the same/similar item.

  10. Hi, on the mobile app, it would be really helpful, if when reconciling bank entries, when xero comes uip with its "suggestion", that is also displays the VAT line. Saves having to go into the suggeestion edit and check VAT is applied correclty

  13. Ability to add CC/BCC on every outgoing Statement Of Accounts to customers.
    Purpose: Internal colleagues or stakeholders allows for a clear record of who received the statement and the context of the communication.
    It enables easier response and ensures everyone involved is aware of the situation.

    Thanks for sharing in product ideas 🙏, as you may have noticed with invoices it is possible to cc and Bcc for sending individual invoices at present. As we continue to build out the Sales experience this may be something we look to expand to other areas of Xero, like Statements.

  14. Payroll - Auto calculate the leave entitlement on employee including the accrual from the current pay period to exhaust all leave before unpaid leave is applied.

  16. Currently the display name for payroll items doesn't extend to timesheets. So the employee sees the rate name. Really an employee should only see the display name and the rate name should be for/staff/admin/advisors. I would like to enter the default rate in the rate name as there is also no prompt in the employee file if you choose to use earnings rate to see what the rate is. You need to go back to payroll setting to check which is inefficient.

  17. When your quote involves different vendors, it would be nice to have the option to create POs with a click of a button for all the vendors but because you can't specify a vendor for each item then at least let us select the line items. Also very important, any additional information that was added to the description during the quote / invoice process should be carried over to the PO.

  18. Right now, checks must be written by going to the top of the page, choosing "Spend Money," choosing the bank account, and then checking the "Pay By Check" box on the page. I regularly enter transactions right on the back account page through the "Spend Money" and "Receive Money" button. It would be great if the "Spend Money" area on the account page could just include the "Pay By Check" box so we could avoid the extra steps.

  19. Currently when you create and apply a credit note to a sales invoice, as soon as you hit approve it'll take you back to the invoice, so I then have to click back into the credit note.
    I'd like to have a dropdown option to approve & email the credit note to the customer if possible.

    On cash coding screen, it would be great if there was an option to freeze the heading panels so you dont have to keep scrolling up if you have millions of lines to code. Eg: to uncheck all

    Thanks for sharing, Jenal. It's not something we have planned at present, but we'll get a sense of the overall interest for this here and keep you updated.

    In the meantime, appreciate it's not exactly what you're after here, however to save you scrolling perhaps you could use the Home and End keys on your keyboard to more easily navigate the page. 🙂
