  2. A default "Profit & Loss Detail" report is a standard option in pretty much every other bookkeeping system I've worked in and necessary for many companies.

    An additional option of running a standard P&L Report, but also being able to expand account sections to see the detail without opening a new report would be very useful for researching issues. It is tedious to continually run the report I need, only to click on one line item and then have to go back and run the original report again to continue researching.

  3. New Account transaction report - remove the totals when generating the report for a single account.
    The new report adds a report total at the end of the selected accounts which is a total of the debit or credit transactions for 'all' accounts selected.
    When only one account is selected it still shows a total - this is in addition to the total for the transactions on the account itself so it shows total of transactions, closing balance and then total of transactions of all accounts selected. It would improve the usability of this report to have the 'overall total…

    Sorry team, we'll need to take a step back from our previous update here. Though this is a feature our teams would like to pick up in the future, we're unable to focus resource on this atm. As soon as we can pick things up, I'll be back to share again.

  4. For now there's a option to block issuing invoice for customer which exceed a certain credit limit. Can we have more options to block a customer, like overdue invoices etc.?

    Appreciate there are more settings that you'd like to expand the use of the Credit Limit for, Joyce. 

    In lieu of change in the direct feature atm, one way to prevent further invoices from being raised for a contact could be to set their limit to the amount of the invoice due which would stop all future invoices for the contact being raised.

  7. Suggest being able to turn a bill to pay directly into a prepayment or better yet a part prepayment.

    The Bills to Pay function doesn't work well (at all?) for prepayments - if a draft bill is received there is no workflow to set it as a prepayment recognised by Xero (although you can set the account to debit as a prepayment). Suggest adding "Record as prepayment" to the bill options drop down.

    Even better would be the functionality to record the bill as a part prepayment, many of our bills are for annual service delivery, therefore the bill will…

    Hi Matthew and Anthony, appreciate perhaps not as streamlined as you'd like here there is the ability to apply a prepayment to a bill. 

    In Xero, you would enter the bill to recognise the expense, payment itself would generally be recognised through the bank account when reconciling which is where you can create a prepayment and then apply the credit to the bill.

    Alternatively, if you'd like to do this from the bills screen, you could use the create icon (+) in the top blue navigation and select Spend Money when redirected you'll want to switch the 'Spent as' to Prepayment from Direct Payment. 

  8. Requested that Xero pull the project names to put on invoices. The information is already entered, would be a big time saver to auto-populated to project name on an invoice rather than manually typing it in

  9. I often collect cash payments that I then create invoices for, rather than having to click on Approve then click on Add payment, it would be great to have the option to Approve and add payment in one click.

  10. I have 4000 archived contacts that I need to restore. Doing them one by one is ridiculous and will take an eternity. Adding check boxes on the side to select multiple to restore in bulk would be an easy feature to add and benefit greatly.

  11. Customer Name / Customer Account number - To import invoices the main criteria for the import file is the customer's name. We work with properties where the owner details change on a regular basis and we use the account number (which is also the erf number) to process invoices. Can a it be changed to give users the option to either use the account number or name as the main criteria for the import file instead of just using the account name.

  13. Case CX0013378184 - Aged Receivables / Payables Reports have changed - Please re-insert "0.00" balance Current Column

    We urgently request that the “0.00” balance “Current" column be put back into the Aged Receivables / Payables Reports

    XERO has just changed the format of the Aged Receivables / Payables Report to NOT show the "Current" column on the Reports if there is a "0.00" balance.

    This is a huge Problem to us as a company with the way in which we do our reporting as we need that column to show. I cannot see the benefit of why this was changed…

    Hey team, appreciate the support in this idea. We understand that you'd like to have a current column to to be able to view customers with a nil balance.

    Being transparent, this isn't in our plans for the immediate future, but we'll continue to keep our eyes on the support for this idea here. Thanks

  14. The ability to flag a customer as "purchase order required". We have a growing number of customers who won't pay us unless we put a purchase order reference on the invoice. It would be good if we can have a flag in the customer that says they require a PO and therefore when we raise an invoice to them it pops up a reminder message.

    Appreciate the feedback here, everyone. As noted in my last update - we released a notes feature in the contact record that enables you to add editable notes (up to 4000 characters) that are visible when viewing the contacts record.

    At this stage, we don't have any plans around pop up notes similar to what's being asked on this idea, however understand this is really what's needed to help solve for your idea here.

    For now, we'll shift the idea back to submitted and continue to track the interest. If there are any other developments that could help achieve what you're asking we'll share this with you all, here.

  15. In project records the ability to select multiple or all expenses entries (by using the existing select tick box) and bulk update 'mark as invoiced' status.

  16. Sometimes clients pays an invoice but then if a refund is issued from that invoice to the same client, in Xero there is no option to add a refund on an invoice, you can only add a payment.
    You can only add a refund on a CN but no always there is a CN available.
    When a company has multiple clients and there is a large movement of funds, refunds and payments it is very difficult to keep track of these and a suspense account has to be used and therefore be reconciled at the end of the year. Is…

    Hi Sara, along with Credit Notes, there is also facilities for Overpayment and Prepayments. Would these commonly fit the scenarios in which you're describing here where large amounts of funds are transferred and perhaps a business overpays their invoices to the business through which a refund is then issued? 

    Bein quite a tied in feature to the payments model I want to be open that we don't have any immediate plans for changing this or adding a new type of transactions that would directly add refunds to an invoice. 

  17. There should be a way we can change the email address that the files inbox accepts to make it more tailored to clients?

    For example for a client, their inbox files email could be: xero.inbox.owerthsgm56785.49n6356@xerofiles.com which is crazy!

    It would be so much better if it could be something like xero.inbox.clientname@xerofiles.com

  19. New bank rec reports are based on the start of the month to the current date as a default. The old bank rec report just had an end date. Would like a fast way to move end date field and not have to also alter the start date.

    Hey community! As a few of you have rightly pointed out, the previously posted workaround isn’t suitable if your end date is prior to your start date. In this case, you will have to update both start and end fields. 

    Thank you to everyone that flagged that, and apologies for the confusion.

    Because the the Bank Reconciliation summary lives in the Bank Reconciliation reporting pack, the date picker available is the same as the other bank reports (Bank Statement and Statement Exceptions).

    Understand that some users would prefer an ‘as-at’ date instead, similar to the older report. In the meantime, you can select the same date in both fields to achieve this.

    As that doesn't quite solve this for some users, we're leaving this idea open to continue to collect and share your feedback with our product team. 

  20. Currently, when creating an invoice, the payment terms dropdown gives you the following options:
    - Today
    - 7 days
    - 14 days
    - EOM +1
    - EOM +20
    - end of next month
    I would like to customise this list; the Australian government has recently brought in payment standards of 5 days if sent by e-invoice and 20 days if not, for all invoices sent to all non-corporate Commonwealth entities (including Defence) and neither of those are amongst the standard options.
