Ability to attached files to a pay run and employees

Hello, there are many valid reasons and points raised below to put this function in. As Xero are making changes across the payroll function, would it not be feasible to add this function. Next stage would be to enable employees to complete required documentation via Xero such as TFN decs, employee personal details.

Hello Customer Service,
It's high time that product team priorities the employee document upload in Xero payroll.
This is strongly needed for compliance purpose and phase out the traditional paper-based employee record keeping system.Regards,

Surely it is not that difficult to add a simple attachment tab to the employee - more improved functionality can be in the pipeline later - and a simple fix could make a huge difference to everyone

Being able to upload completed forms by employees into Xero would enable complete records to be kept and no risk of misplacing with quick easy access

Attachments in Payroll for changes to employees would be great - such as tax variations or payroll increases etc so that info can be easily accessed based on date ranges as well esp for review for STP queries etc too

It's hard to understand why files can't be attached to an employee's record in xero payroll when attachments can be uploaded to so many other screens -you can even attach a file to this comment box!!

The ability to upload documents in a general employee info tab would be handy e.g TFN dec, Super form, employment contracts, general employee forms. As well as the ability to upload/attach documents to a leave request, such as leave request form, doctors certificate etc.
This would be very helpful for centralised record keeping as well as being able to attached documents to support applications within the employees profile.I also urge XERO to make this a priority please - it would be a VERY helpful upgrade.

Everywhere else in Xero you can go paperless except for Payroll/employees. Its a really important feature that should be added. To be able to store employee contracts and their information that you collate when a new employee starts, would be so helpful. Urge Xero to make this a priority please :)

I have couple of sick notes for employees and would be good to keep on file in their Payroll so i can upload the Form/PDF.

Would like to electronically store compulsory IR forms, medical certs, etc for employees within their Payroll information.

It would really useful if the Development Team could implement that when an employee request sick leave that they could upload a Doctors Certificate to that request.

I agree with Anna - The function to add files is already in place in multiple areas in Xero, why is it not possible to easily implement this into the Payroll section?

Thank you for the update Kelly - I appreciate that Xero has to look at workload and priorities
However as Xero has the function to add files in most of the accounts - surely it would be a very simple addition to Payroll - to add a folder option to keep all documents in one place? -

I agree with Roy regarding holiday. The system is not user friendly at all.

I Agree with Nicola why should we in the UK have reduced resource commitment from Xero because of work being done for Australia? We have moved a number of clients from QuickBooks to Xero who are extremely disappointed with how basic Xero’s payroll functionality is. Not only with not being able to upload documents to employees records but how Holiday Day entitlement accrual doesn’t work for their staff’s working patterns. Basically, QuickBooks payroll is vastly superior to Xero’s. It seems Xero most be happy with this, we are not.

This is a very disappointing decision Xero, we are trying to sell your software to a number of clients who also recognise this as a vital function to have available so its not helping us to promote Xero. Working in practice our aim is to transition all of our clients to Xero but your making this very hard. Isn't STP phase 2 a requirement in Australia, users in the UK shouldn't be impacted by other government requirements

It is very disappointing. The whole point of going from old desktop based software systems to the cloud based, like Xero, was a possibility to streamline the workflow due to the documents being kept together with the accounting records. Payroll is a part of business where having the documents kept together with the records is extremely important. Also, the competing products (MYOB, Quickbooks) had it for years, why not Xero? I understand the workload ATO caused with STP2, but this feature is so fundamental shouldn't be set side.

Allow attachments for employees (maybe under notes screen) so employee contracts and documentation can be stored in Xero. This would be very useful for a) approvers checking payroll for new employees and b) auditors (via read-only access).

Everything is going paperless now, so don't know why we keep having to print out medical certs. If docs can be added to a bill or invoice, why not an employee?

I don't understand how such a request has not been actioned upon - all other payroll providers allow you to store employee documents as standard. Please make this happen!
