  2. Finalise Year End
Can we have an option (just like finalising the GST returns) where we can finalise the year, and then later on print a report with any changes made since? The lock dates are not the solution, because they can be unlocked and relocked and there is no detail of changes made.
If we could "finalise" a year when the client has signed off accounts or tax returns, then if anyone inadvertently edits or changes coding we can see that.

  3. When copying an invoice, we need to be able to copy and paste in the item code without it deleting all of the description, qty and cost.
You can do this in classic invoicing, but when you do it in the updated invoicing it removes all the data on the line.

Hi community, Our team have been doing some recent work in this space and they have released a change so you can now copy/duplicate existing items! The new item will still need a unique item code and you'll see the name is duplicated with the tag 'copy' at the end. 😊

Thanks for all your feedback and sharing with us for the idea here.

Hi community, there was a brief window in which users were able to unintentionally code line items to CIS codes. However, there is more complexity in calculations for CIS and work that's needed to reflect this appropriately.

Thanks for starting an idea in this, we'll begin to track the appetite as a possibility for future work.

  6. In the new format Bank Reconciliation report, can we please add a 'select' option for the bank account field, similar to the 'Account Transactions' report and how we can 'select' multiple CoA codes to look at at the same time?

I have a client that has 30+ bank accounts, and having to run the bank reconciliation report 30 times to check if they are reconciling/have errors is very painful.

Hey community, just following on from Kelly’s update a few weeks ago, you can now add multiple bank accounts to the Bank Reconciliation report 🎉

In the new Bank Reconciliation report pack, you can now click ‘Add report’ to add in a new Bank Rec Summary report for each of your accounts - removing the need to run the report again each time you change bank accounts.

Thanks again for all your feedback on this one 😊

  7. We often use the quick search feature in Xero, and it is often used just to get the client code for files. It would be incredibly helpful if the client code populated next to the client name in the quick search bar to make it easier to see

  8. It would be great if Xero could implement an automatic change/suggestion to change to category A after an H-category employee doesn't meet the criteria anymore.
One of our employees just had his birthday and I noticed the category doesn't automatically update and there's no flag to say they might now be ineligible for a certain code.
I imagine there are more companies with the same problem where it's gone unnoticed that the National Insurance Category hasn't automatically updated as nearly everything else does and it's easy to miss a birthday!

Hi community, we've rolled out a change to Xero Payroll (UK), and now Xero will automatically apply the new NI category to a pay run based on an employees birthdate, and if they are entering into a new NI category. Meaning you no longer have to manually track and updates these.

We appreciate all your contributions and letting us know how valuable this feature is for you. 😊

  9. It would be really helpful to be able to group bank accounts in a similar way to grouping Contacts. We have multiple currency accounts and base currency accounts as well as credit cards and to be able to group them in different ways would make checking them much easier. Eg group into GBP Current Accounts, Currency Accounts, Cash Currency Accounts, All Cards etc

  10. When a BAS payment is due it shows up in Analytics Plus on the due date. However when the bas or payg payment is paid early there is no way to remove it from the cashflow and it skews the cash flow workings. Can we create a way to remove these system populated entries when they are no longer correct.

Hi all, we've just released an update to Short term cashflow(STCF) so you can now exclude individual BAS/PAYGW amounts from your orgs projection breakdown, when the due date falls within the selected date range of the STCF.

You can always add back any excluded amounts to the projection at a later date. 🙂

  11. In the old quote version, when adding an item it would search just by the item code which was great.

Now it searches and displays even in the item description, so now end up with a big list to scroll through with description also showing, and especially as the font is bigger.

Any chance this can be looked into and item search just looks at item code/name, without searching and displaying description,?

    Thanks
    Sue

  12. Many are complaining about no VAT option on mileage claims through expenses. I can see why this would be timely to implicate as the fuel element changes and is different depending on fuel type and engine size.

But think for those that want to, we should at least have a VAT drop down. We could then create a new tax rate for each rate or even employee using expenses.

For example I have a director with a vehicle >2000cc Diesel I believe using the HMRC company car fuel rates this equates to 19p inclusive of VAT. Using the 45p for…

  13. I think the time has come to invest in AI, as a accounting software leader (Xero). Many people invest their money in AI software, like accountants, to do better / more accurate and faster budgets, forecasting (cash/accrual) mixed with different scenario's, transaction reconciliations and presentations of data/information and graphs. This usually in excel; outside the accounting software, where mistakes are likely to happen. I am not in IT, or software development/integrations, so I do not have an idea what this type of investment would cost, but my gut feeling is it would be worth it.

    Like your forward thinking, Johan.

As Freya mentioned there is some AI going on in Xero already with the way Xero makes suggestions to help you reconcile your bank account.

We recently shared some insights with our customers on our approach to generative AI with Xero and you can read more about this on our blog

Later this year you'll see Just ask Xero (JAX) be introduced and I'll round back to share once this is available.

Hi Claire, you can add an expected payment date from the Awaiting payments list in Sales. Appreciate it's not quite possible from the individual invoice itself atm so have slightly updated the title of your idea here. If there's any plans of adding this here we'll let you know.

  15. In UK hospitality, Tronc (tips) systems require a different PAYE to your normal payroll. It would be very useful if Xero could accommodate more than one Payroll, including PAYE reference and employees could have a job with each.

A pay run should be able to be created with each PAYE separately, and each would have its own coding to the balance sheet. e.g. Net Wages, and Net Wages Tronc are different numbers in COA.

As things stand I've had to create a second company, paying for a payroll which does not integrate into our main company in any way so…

  16. We have grant funding so wages as well as super needs to be applied with the tracking code to acquit grant correctly. Presently, there is no availability to apply tracking codes against the superannuation, as well it is only available through timesheets for the wages.
It would be very helpful if tracking codes could be applied directly with pay items in employee template (similarly like other software) so this can be applied when leave is taken also

  18. Currently you can only see new notifications when they pop up in the menu. As soon as you click x, they disappear and cannot be accessed any more. It is useful to be able to look at old notifications - particularly for tax codes so that changes to tax codes can be double checked

Appreciate you raising the idea here, Sally.

It'd be great to understand when you say "dismissing" notifications, would this be by clicking the "x" icon in the top right hand corner of the notifications pop-up, or within the notification feed? Thanks

  19. At the moment Zero Rated GST can only be applied to Revenue items on the Chart of Accounts. When we deal with a property sale between GST registsred parties, the sale is also zero rated for GST purposes. We need the option to apply the 0% GST rate to asset codes as well as revenue codes. At the moment, we have to do a manual workaround.

It’s interesting to hear the different ways our users invoice and we appreciate you sharing how we could improve the flow of entry for you here. Being open this isn’t something we have plans for right now, however as our team plan further developments within invoicing, we’d like to engage you all here. To help our product teams get a better understanding of our invoicing users for future improvements, we’ve put a survey together and would love to hear your feedback through this.
