Contact defaults - Option to default to eInvoicing
would make sense to be able to tick a button for the specific client you know is registered and therefore it is sent an einvoice by default

Reporting- Contact Cash Activity Report to show all contacts
Contact Cash Activity Report that shows all contacts and can show both individual transactions or a summary (total).
It would be more efficient than having to select each contact individually

Bills - Ability to edit or reinstate voided bills
Reinstate "Voided" bills and invoices
We have had an invoice created accidentally with sensitive payroll info, it was then voided without thinking and now that info is permanently in the xero file - we need to at LEAST be able to edit voided invoices (as you can at any other stage - ie maybe a "reinstate" so we can edit to remove this sensitive data, then re-void??!!15 votes -
Organisation Settings - Display more than 5 organizations from change organisation drop down list
When a person has more than 5 organizations in their portfolio the 'Change of Organization' drop down list only shows the most recent 5 used. It would be helpful if ALL your organizations showed on screen to choose from. Or of course, having the option to reduce to the 5 normal.

Invoices: Automatically update issue date when draft invoices are approved
I frequently create draft invoices to keep track of work to be billed. When I send the invoice (at the completion of a production stage for example), XERO keeps the date of the first draft invoice, which can be weeks or even months old. I have a setting of 7 days as due date. Clients then receive an invoice with a long gone due date, which is extremely confusing, if I forget to update the issue date to today. It would make a lot of sense if XERO entered the date of the issue automatically! Apparently there is no default setting for this. Its would appear to me a minor change in software coding, which could save a lot of time for the user.

Invoicing | History - Show detail of action made
With the currect feature History and note report we are able to see which invoice for example has been edited - change name of invoice - reconciled etc. However we would like to have a more detailed view, for example if an invoice is booked in USD and someone will change the currency in EUR we are not able to see this change , we can see only that the invoice is edited by X person but we are not able to see the change. How can we have this feature?
26 votesHi everyone, while we still have more changes planned in this space I wanted to fill you in on the more recent changes in this space.
We have now added the ability to view the email an invoice was sent to in history, as well as adding timestamps for more insight into when an event was made.

Bills - Quick option to add a new Supplier Credit Note
When you enter a bill and save it as a draft or approve a bill up the top it gives you the option to enter a new bill but it doesn't give you the option to enter a credit note. Because I can click add a new bill I enter all my invoices first but if Xero gave me the option to enter a credit note I would use this very much. Right now I have 14 supplier credit notes to enter and that is not unusual and it is very time consuming having to go back to the bill summary screen each time to just beable to access the option to enter a new credit note. Please can access to credit note entry be made possible while viewing individual bills. The credit allocated box also needs the option to enter new bill or credit note. Screen shots attached.

BAS (AU) - Monthly PAYG Income tax instalment
Xero doesn't currently have the option for reporting PAYG Income Tax Instalment on a monthly basis. Could Xero look into providing this option in the monthly BAS Activity Statement reporting.
66 votesAppreciate your input here, everyone. Our team has looked into this idea to better understand the needs and complexities involved, however they don't have any concrete plans for it just yet.
Rest assured that our eyes are on the ground monitoring your feedback and votes here, so please keep adding them in this thread. For the time being, I’ll move this idea into ‘Under review’ status. And if there's any movement, we'll make sure to come back here and let you all know.

Custom payroll reports
It would be good if payroll reports could be customised, i.e. after making a change to an existing report, such as Gross To Net report, the new template could be saved as a Custom Report.
At the moment, it isn't possible to save the updated format, so I have to make the same changes to the standard report every month.

Xero Files - Attach files to Bank or Nominal Accounts
It would be a really useful to be able to attach files to a bank account within Xero, much as you can to a contact or transaction.
The use cases for this could be:
When a disorganised client send bank statements in as attachments for irregular payments it would be very handy to be able to store those attached to the account in Xero; as close to where I would want to use them as possible. There are supporting documents that relate to an account as a whole - such as an accruals or prepayment schedule that would be great to store attached to the account that they relate to.

Overpayments - Create Overpayments with Tax on for cash basis VAT
Ability for Xero to treat an overpayment with VAT on - I don't want to use a secondary debtors control account.
We have a client on the VAT cash accounting scheme and we have a number of overpayments which need to hit the debtors control account. When I run the VAT return, these amounts are not being captured for VAT purposes since there is no option to select a tax rate when using the overpayments option.
Should I treat these as prepayments, Xero will allow me to code these to a nominal account with VAT. However, the nominal code I need Xero to code to is the debtors control account, which you can only choose when selecting the overpayment option, (and as mentioned above this doesn't allow you to select a tax rate).
What I want to do is to treat this receipt as an overpayment which hits the debtors control account but also attracts VAT. The client is on the VAT cash scheme, so I believe the overpayments must be included for VAT purposes - I don't want to use the work around of using a second nominal for debtors and posting these receipts as prepayments.

Invoice - Default window size when viewing attachment
Enable Xero to remember the zoom and window size when viewing a document attached to an invoice, bill, purchase order etc.
I always find it annoying that the default size for viewing an attachment is too small and I need to increase the zoom and window size every time.

Contacts - Export and import all contact fields
Our contact cards are set up automatically through an API directly from our billing systems (we have multiple systems that are all coded differently). Fields like currency and branding are not updated with this link; therefore, the fields default to our Xero account settings. We want to export the contact card list with these fields to identify the clients with information that needs updating, to then fix and import in one step instead of updating each card.

User Role - Ability to share a published report with users
Every month I publish, export and share reports with certain individuals. I would like to do this within Xero. I set up users who can have "View published reports" access. When I publish a report I can then select that report and choose which of these users I wish to share it with. The user is notified, can login to Xero and is then presented with a list of published reports that have been shared with them. It keeps all the functionality native to Xero.

Sales report - By contact location
It's unfathomable to me that it is not possible to do something as simple as output sales by state or by province or by country or by city. These are discreet fields in Xero and we ought to be able to filter a sales or P&L report to just include sales for some regions or to summarize by state or country. Right now all I can do is export all transactions and run everything through excel, which is not the way this should work. Thanks.
32 votesHi team, while not a fully fledged report you may find Smart Lists within a contact useful at present.
From Contacts you can set up and get a list of customers that meet certain rules that you've set up - such as 'Location' is and setting this to one or more locations your customers are based.
