Reports | VAT201 - Add Google Sheet format for download
Please INCLUDE GOOGLE SHEETS for ALL downloadable reports in Xero. Some reports are downloadable only in Excel. SUPER FRUSTRATING!!!!!!

AU Payroll - Adding the USI to the Add Employee Superannuation Membership
When adding a new employee's super fund, being able to add the fund by entering the USI number.
If that can't be done, at least show the USI next to the super fund name so we can make sure we are selecting the correct super fund.
Currently to make sure I am selecting the correct super fund in Xero when adding a new employee, to confirm the USI I need to go to my organisation, settings, payroll settings, superannuation and then, because I can't sort alphabetically or search for a fund name or USI, I basically have to add a new super fund to enter the USI and that will then tell me if I already have that fund in my Xero and what it is called, to go back into adding a new employee and selecting the right fund name.

Organisation Settings - Set default date format to DDMMYYYY for South African orgs
The date format for South Africa is incorrect. We use a day month year format, not the American month day year format. Surely Xero can change this so its adaptable for each country and preference? Its not asking a lot of work to have that additional option. But can cause a huge issue when its not what we work with.

Invoice template - Ability to add Invoice Balance Forward
When printing an invoice I would like to go to the customer's account and bring forward the balance that is on their account.
And have this balance on a line above the net amount for this invoice, which would then add the gross amount to the brought forward value and have aline below the gross amount of the invoice, showing the total amount that they owe to date including this invoice.26 votes -

Invoices | Export to include customer number and VAT number
can you please add columns for customer account number and VAT number to invoice export data sheet? this should be a simple add as so much of the customer data already is there. it makes business analysis much better. it is far too cumbersome to track customer profitability otherwise.

Supplier Activity Report - Description column includes description
When I run a supplier bill activity report it would be HELPFUL if the description column actually contained the description of the invoices, or at least the start of it. For example, say a supplier is for office rent then I put in the description what period or month the rent is for. Then, if I run a supplier activity report I would expect the ******** description column to show me the helpful description I entered. Instead I get INV Ref: xxxxxx which repeats the xxxxxx from the reference column next to it. Noe useful at all, and the info I want to see is not there. Pointless. Do any of you people ever try and use your own software?????????????????? For invoices, can the description column on this report please be the actual description. Thanks

There is an option to include 'Description' as a column. Let us know if this helps provide the view you're after.

NZ Payroll | Kiwisaver - Show deduction rate on payslips
A client has asked for the functionality to show the Kiwisaver deduction rate for employees on their payslip?
It would be really helpful for all staff to know what this is, and also check they are on the correct rate?

User roles - Reports access with no payroll (including accounts)
We want to give access to reporting to one of our managers however we don't want them to be able to view all payroll information. Therefore I am looking for a function that can give access to all of Xero except anything to do with payroll so all nominal codes to do with wages would need to be invisible etc. Journals would another thing that needs to be hidden.

I'd like to be able to see how much our projects owe on the 'All Projects' page rather than having to click into each project individually.

Expenses: Automatic mileage tracking
Quickbooks has "motion tracking" mileage, meaning the user doesn't have spent time entering their starting and final postcodes, they literally just turn the feature on and it auto records their mileage via GPS. I have clients (using Xero) who are on the road everyday for business purposes and this feature would be so useful for them to save time.

While our team have a keen eye on the idea and interest in exploring this in the future we want to be open that resources are across other important work atm and there are no plans to develop this, this year.
We'll continue to track the interest and keep you updated of any change for this through the idea, here.

AU Payroll | Timesheet - Update time in lieu balance
The current option available for updating the time in lieu of XERO is to previously inform the fixed number of hours that will be added to the leave balance in the leave register. However, the number of hours varies each week, so I cannot predict in advance how many hours each employee will work.
My suggestion includes an automatic update from the time in lieu of using a timesheet. Thus reducing the probability of errors by entering the balance manually.

Invoice reminders - Ability to change invoice reminder to different email address
Some larger companies with automated systems do not want reminders going to the same email address that the invoices go to. Doing this results in a duplicate invoice going into their system, which stops the payment going through as they then need to manually sort out what's going on. They have one email address for the invoice and another for reminders, to avoid that duplication.
Currently, we need to leave the email address on the contact, then turn off invoice reminders and make a note to manually send reminders.52 votes -

73 votesHi team, appreciate the feedback here and it appears there are 2 differing ideas being bought up here. This idea was originally started relating to the invoice branding theme. Being open, while we will look at improvements to invoice templates down the line this isn't planned just yet.
More recent conversation appears to be related to the new invoicing send modal and formatting of emails sent from Xero. We have a slightly different idea those who are interested in this can join and you'll see I recently updated - While the tool bar has been removed from the send window, you can still use html tags to format and preview how these look in your email.

Email templates - Increase limit
We require more than 10 email templates for our organisation, due to running multiple events and each needing a different message to go out with the Sales Invoice in the email body.
Please Xero can you review this, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to change!

This isn't something we have immediate plans for atm but good to know when sharing your feedback with product.
For the time being, you'll need to apply a base template and can adjust as needed when sending individual items from Xero.

Account Transactions report - Filter Description by multiple terms
I need to search Invoice descriptions to find Invoices that have certain quote references.
I've found a workaround for this using an Account Transaction report and filtering on description. However I can't find a way to use an OR operator.
For example I can create a report that finds all quote references with "A0", and I can modify that to display a report that finds all quotes with a reference that contains "L0".
However, I can't find a way to create a single report that contains all quote references with "A0" OR "L0" (or "A0" OR "A1" OR "A2")
8 votesThanks for the detail in your idea here, Paul. I had a bit of a test of this myself and have checked in with our reporting team.
It doesn't quite appear in the modal once the report's run - this is something that we'll look to improve.
However, it's possible to enter multiple terms which will each be searched and return results for (like OR as an operator) - All you need to do is enter a comma(,) and space between each condition.
For example A0, L0 or A0, A1, A2, 🙂

Find and Recode - Increase range of items to show per page from 200
In Find and Recode allow Advisor only to tick the range of items to show ... 1,000 or 5,000 etc. 200 only is a pain.
