Contact - Field for Business Registered Name
When creating a new contact, I need a space for the Business registered Name as well as Trading name.
24 votesAppreciate the interest shown on the idea here, everyone. Atm, we don't have any plans for adding a specific field for a Contact / Business Registered name.
While not a perfect solution as another user has shared, perhaps adding the name to the contact's address field could help surface this detail where required at present.
We'll continue to gauge interest in this, and share if there are any updates.

Please INCLUDE GOOGLE SHEETS for ALL downloadable reports in Xero. Some reports are downloadable only in Excel. SUPER FRUSTRATING!!!!!!

Organisation Settings - Set default date format to DDMMYYYY for South African orgs
The date format for South Africa is incorrect. We use a day month year format, not the American month day year format. Surely Xero can change this so its adaptable for each country and preference? Its not asking a lot of work to have that additional option. But can cause a huge issue when its not what we work with.

Report - Contacts not used within a time period e.g 12 months
A report to run to identify suppliers and customers that have not used in the last 12 months, so we can archive some contacts.
10 votesNot a capture all but maybe a step in the right direction for now that could help, Maureen - Smart Lists could help you get a view of the customers that you've not sold items to recently.
You could run a New Smart List to view Any customers who have Not Purchased Any items In the last year - Find out more on Smart lists here.

Invoices | Export to include customer number and VAT number
can you please add columns for customer account number and VAT number to invoice export data sheet? this should be a simple add as so much of the customer data already is there. it makes business analysis much better. it is far too cumbersome to track customer profitability otherwise.

AU Payroll - Ability to pay an overseas foreign resident employee
we will have an overseas employee (from NZ) joining our australian company. In payroll I can put under Taxes the status Foreign Resident but not his address in NZ. I find this very restrictive to only be able to choose a State in Aus and no overseas addresses. Anybody an idea how to circumnavigate this without having to find some additional app to connect with Xero as was suggested by Xero Support.

NZ Payroll | Kiwisaver - Show deduction rate on payslips
A client has asked for the functionality to show the Kiwisaver deduction rate for employees on their payslip?
It would be really helpful for all staff to know what this is, and also check they are on the correct rate?

User roles - Reports access with no payroll (including accounts)
We want to give access to reporting to one of our managers however we don't want them to be able to view all payroll information. Therefore I am looking for a function that can give access to all of Xero except anything to do with payroll so all nominal codes to do with wages would need to be invisible etc. Journals would another thing that needs to be hidden.

Projects List - View balance owed per project
I'd like to be able to see how much our projects owe on the 'All Projects' page rather than having to click into each project individually.

Batch Payment | Create individual remittance advice for a single bill within a batch
There’s no functionality in Xero to produce an individual remittance advice for a single bill included in a batch payment, it would be great if this could be done.

Fixed Assets - Search by Serial Number
It should be possible to search Fixed Assets by serial number using the existing search box.
Otherwise the Fixed Assets registration feature is not that useful, because if you have i.e. 50 of the same asset you have to manually open all 50 assets to find out which one actually matches the SN of the asset you are disposing.
If you can't search based on the serial number, what is even the point of entering it?
23 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback and detail of why searching b y serial # would be of use. We understand how this'd be beneficial when you have multiple of the same asset being registered.
At this time, as with a few parts of Xero our product team in the Fixed Assets space are focused on updating some core Fixed Assets technology to provide future capability and a consistent look and feel to what you've begun seeing in other parts of Xero like reports, and invoicing.
We'll keep watching the support for ideas closely and share any updates with you all.

Email templates - Increase limit
We require more than 10 email templates for our organisation, due to running multiple events and each needing a different message to go out with the Sales Invoice in the email body.
Please Xero can you review this, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to change!

This isn't something we have immediate plans for atm but good to know when sharing your feedback with product.
For the time being, you'll need to apply a base template and can adjust as needed when sending individual items from Xero.

Account Transactions report - Filter Description by multiple terms
I need to search Invoice descriptions to find Invoices that have certain quote references.
I've found a workaround for this using an Account Transaction report and filtering on description. However I can't find a way to use an OR operator.
For example I can create a report that finds all quote references with "A0", and I can modify that to display a report that finds all quotes with a reference that contains "L0".
However, I can't find a way to create a single report that contains all quote references with "A0" OR "L0" (or "A0" OR "A1" OR "A2")
8 votesThanks for the detail in your idea here, Paul. I had a bit of a test of this myself and have checked in with our reporting team.
It doesn't quite appear in the modal once the report's run - this is something that we'll look to improve.
However, it's possible to enter multiple terms which will each be searched and return results for (like OR as an operator) - All you need to do is enter a comma(,) and space between each condition.
For example A0, L0 or A0, A1, A2, 🙂

Tracking - Link options within categories
It would be helpful to link our 2 tracking categories together. As it stands, we've got departments within our business as tracking category 1, and divisions as category 2. It would be so helpful if we could put default links in place, as each department links directly to a specific division in the business. That way, when we go to post sales & purchase invoices to the ledger, once a division is added to the tracking category field, the division is automatically populated.
