  1. Ability to upload changes to existing invoices via csv.

Currently - When uploading a list of invoices that already exist, Xero will not allow the upload to continue. This feature would mean, that for any invoice that exists already, Xero would prompt the user whether they would like to update changes for existing invoices or not.

Purpose example - For invoices that need to have changes applied, for example amending the due date to an agreed revised payment due date. This change would enable the user to bulk update instead of needing to open each invoice manually…

  2. Hi Community, we need to have the option to copy part of the invoice when we are doing it, and then, copy that on the same invoice we are working, many times we need to invoice the same things to the same client but separate it by levels or offices into the same invoice, we can save a lot of time with this function when we are writing a big invoice.
    Thanks

  3. Invoicing - Ability to insert a page break in long invoices

Some of our invoices have long narrations with multiple lines. At present if one of your line items goes over to a second page you have no ability to define where the page break should be. It would be a great feature to be able to place a page break at any point in the invoice.

  4. Thank you for delivering to keep the existing contact when copying an invoice. Now when you email the invoice the email address is not populated from the contact file. You have to go and look it up to send the copied invoice.

Please refer to the contact details and pre-populate their contact email addresses.

    Thanks

Sorry Lynne, It's a bit hard to troubleshoot and get the detail to understand why your contacts details like email aren't coming through to your copied invoice. I've just tested this with Draft and approved invoices being copied and the email of the contact was bought through each time as expected. I'd recommend raising this with our specialist through the Contact Xero Support option in Xero Central for closer inspection.

Thanks for also checking on this, Olga - that message on defaults application is related to the Sales defaults saved against inventory items or the contacts record but doesn't apply to the contacts personal details. These should be applied when copying an invoice.

To explain a little more - The reason defaults aren't automatically applied is because the line item fields will be prefilled with the information from the existing invoice that the new one is copied from.

    We understand…

  5. When an account is reconciled and the report is created for the period, it would be nice if there was a little summary alert for the end date of the most recent report on the dashboard tile (i.e. reconciled up to and including 28 Feb 2025). This would help to make VERY clear immediately which accounts are reconciled to which date and help to plan which accounts need work or need a report and which are done for the reporting period you are working on.

  6. Cancel a Draft Invoice from Invoice Screen (rather than delete which loses the invoice number). Another user made this same suggestion and the Xero response was to hit the delete button and they then closed down the comments/voting option. However, her point was that if you cancel out of the invoice then the invoice number you cancelled out of is still usable, whereas hitting delete means the invoice number is no longer usable. Why has the cancel button been completely removed and only the delete function is now there.

Appreciate you raising this again, Tom. While it's possible to Delete a draft invoice as new invoicing has autosave built in it's not possible to just cancel out without saving once a contact has been entered.

We'll keep track of the specific interest for this here, and I have merged the original idea that was created around this in with this one.

  7. Unscheduled pay run - most of my unscheduled pay runs are paid on the day of creation.
It would be good to be able to change the payment date to the actual date of payment instead of the date selected by the unscheduled pay run.

E.g. unscheduled pay run for the week ending 13th Aug has a payment date of 16th Aug yet payment may have been made on 18th Sep.

  8. Currently one can only post 50 lines in an invoice. It should be unlimited as some clients have at least 200 lines or more depending on their line of business.

  9. BETTER WORKFLOW FOR QUOTES/DELIVERIES/INVOICING:
If we could get the actual flow for how the paperwork per Job can be produced!

1.I always start with a QUOTATION: this doesn't always need to be sent to a customer at all as it could be raised by way of a telephone conversation, etc,et. This is logged as a Job manually in a Workbook.
2.If the customer agrees and some do use PO numbers then when we go to accept/confirm, this is when we need the ability to enter Their PO number or some other confirmation that can be proved, this may…

  10. Previously we were able to "Add billable expenses" to a "Copy to draft invoice". However, this feature is no longer available/showing up as an option when creating the draft invoice. Instead I have to save the invoice as a draft and re-open, then I'm able to add the billable expense.

Hi team, thank you for your feedback and sharing about this with us here. I can confirm our team recently released a change to fix the issue some users were experiencing like you've described here where the Add billable expenses option was not appearing.

You should now see this appear when creating an invoice for a contact that a billable expense has been assigned to. If you do continue to experience any issues with this, please do raise a case with our Xero Support team who have tools to be able to investigate and escalate with our product team if needed. Thanks

  11. I have wasted HOURS of my time trying to figure out how to get repeating bills to show up. Would be extremely helpful if instead of "Next Bill Date" you say "create bill date" or "generate bill date" which is what I finally figured out it actually IS. "Next bill date" in this instance is very confusing; it's natural to put in the bill date for the following month.

  12. Bills - Highlight the “Planned date” (in red or bold) as you select the date.
This would assist greatly when batching weekly and monthly payment batches and working alphabetically.
The Bills screen is very busy.
    Thank you

  13. Please keep the current feature of adding item codes to billable expenses so that the preset charge out rate and account pulls through. In the new system adding an item code wipes out the billable expense.

Hi community, thanks for sharing back with us on the flow through of information for Billable expenses.

Our product team have implemented a change, and you should now find that when you add a billable expense related to an inventory item, and select to add the items to your invoice the item code will be shown.

If you're finding this is not the case for you it would be best for our Xero Support specialists to take a closer look at things with you 1-1 - you can touch base with them through Xero Central.

  14. When viewing reports ( e.g. transactions reports) if you change the date range of the report after you have looked at the transactions for a particular date range , the report comes up with "nothing to show" so you have to close it and reopen the report with the different dates - it's annoying and time consuming.

Hi Shelley, is this something you've approached our Support team about ? It'd be good to have them dive deeper into this if not already to confirm behaviours.

If you have transactions entered in your org for the dates the report is being run this should be reflected in your report results.

  15. Addition option of show customer statement "actual" outstanding instead "as at" date.
Eg, Our customer ABC need us to furnish a Outstanding statement that as at 30 June 2023, and there is 4 invoice unpaid. Happen that 15 July 2023the customer pay the 3 invoices only. Customer request us to send the statement show the 1 unpaid invoice dated 30 June 2023 but it still shows 4 outstanding, how can we show the the one unpaid invoice in the statement.

Ideal additional option of show date 30.6.23 and show the one 1 unpaid invoice only. Kindly advice.

  16. Sometimes an entity will de-register for GST because they are no longer required to file, then circumstances change and they re-register. Currently in Xero when you re-register Xero creates all the prior period GST returns for when the client was deregistered. You then have to manually delete all the prior draft returns.

Would be great if you could have an option to choose the new start date for GST.

    thanks!

  17. When I prepare Financial Statements, I copy and edit a published set of Financial Statements from the previous year. But it is annoying that in the now draft Financial Statements, the date in the Compilation Report does not refresh to current date. So I either manually edit the date or add a Comp Report from My Xero. Either way is a pain. Any better ideas?

  18. The new feature sets the discount column to numeric value by standard. My business uses % and it's incredibly tedious having to type % each time. We can do 10-20 quotes a day with an average of 30 products per quote. So a feature that would allow us to click a button to default to percentage, so when you type a number the % appears (like in old Xero).

Hi everyone, we appreciate the interest his idea has received. Introducing the ability to add a discount amount was highly requested by our community. We recognise for customers that discount by % this means you'll need to enter a % symbol where y ou wouldn't have done so before.

With quite a few items drawing our teams attention at present we want to be upfront that developing a default option for discounts isn't in the pipeline atm. This is something we'll keep reviewing and consider as a future improvement in this space. If there is any change or progress around this I'll let you know on the idea, here.

  19. Invoicing - increase the number of invoices that can be sent on the Ignite Plan or have another plan between the ignite and grow plans that allows more invoices to be sent and bills to be entered without the current extras in the grow plan. The jump up in cost between these plans is too much.

Hi everyone, we appreciate your feedback.

A lot of consideration went into the development of our plans and bundled features in order to align with the needs of different small businesses of all sizes and complexities.

To be transparent we'll no longer accept ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures and cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature. While we will move this idea to Feedback, please be assured comments have all been shared with our team internally.

  20. Under the 'New Invoice' creation page, it would be great to add a contact's VAT number as you are creating the contact, on the invoice page.

Just add one line under the address.

Then one would not have to navigate to the Contacts page to add the VAT number
