  1. INVOICING - in the field 'Unit Price', it would be great to be able to have this default to the hourly rate we charge (and to override if necessary). We send our invoices to our clients at the end of each month, and therefore there are several entries for the daily activities charged throughout the month, hence having to input the hourly rate several times for each invoice.

    Thank you for sharing, Mike. While Xero Product Ideas is a place for requesting changes for features in Xero, the Xero Developer Community link that you’ve shared here is the best place to raise any API, Ecosystem, and Integration ideas.

  3. I have a client who is wanting to set up a vendor and queried about the ability to send a form to the potential vendor with information required directly from Xero
    Unfortunately this is not an option at this time but I am wondering if this is something other businesses would use and how helpful this would be

  4. This feature was included in the old user interface for Bank Rules, and with the new interface that was rolled out, this feature is no longer available. Instead, I'm forced to go to the COA screen to add a new COA code, then refresh my Bank Rules screen to then be able to choose that account. The time this adds, on top of the already manual process to add bank rules, really adds up. I'd love to see this ability again.

  5. Currently you are able to select the tax scale Horticultural/Shearers but there is no default tax rate attached. Apparently if employee falls under this scale you need to select for reporting to ATO which means you have to then manually calculate tax when you do the pays which is not possible if you have multiple employees knowing which employee wants what rate as they all do not use the default. This also leads to errors if not picked up it doesnt calculate automatically. May I suggest that we urgently attention to have the default ATO tax scale rate included…

  6. We use another software programme which exports all our customer details and invoices etc into Xero automatically. The other programme uses Google to create addresses. A lot of the addresses include te reo, so include macrons. When the text is imported into Xero the macrons cause non-recognition of the characters, so we end up with a mess.
    Surely in this modern world, Xero, an Aotearoa, New Zealand, developed programme, can be made to recognise our indigenous (Official) language, and allow correct te reo spellings.
    This is 2022 not 1922, please allow us to get this basic NZ requirement correct. Xero…

    Hi Karin, would it be possible to get a few more examples of names that you've tried to import and not have show with macrons? 

    One of our team have tested creating a contact via import with the name Whakatāne (/mækrn, me-/) and this created a contact in Xero as shown in this image. 

    It'd be great to better understand and see if we can look into this a bit more.

The Balance Sheet currently defaults to the last EOFY date, which as at today (posting this suggestion) is 9 months ago. this is frustrating as you usually look for the figures as at now, and not the end of the last financial year. This functionality changed in one of the recent product updates. I know we can change the date and re-run the report, however it seems silly to default back to the end of the last FY and is a waste of time to have to do this always.

  8. Aged Payables Report
    This new report defaults to todays date, and you cannot create a template that defaults to the end of the current month. I need this report to show the actual invoices owing, as if I use today's date it shows invoices owing that I have already sent to my bank for payment at the end of the month. The old report worked great and defaulted to the month, but it would be great if this was an option for the new report.

    Hey everyone - Just a quick update to let you know we’ve tweaked the default date picker on this report 😊

    Now, if you open the Aged Payables, the date will default to the end of the month, and not today’s date - replicating the behaviour of the old version.

  9. In the new reporting be able automatically group accounts by Account Code (either by "begins with" or "within range") This feature was available is old report layout and very useful for larger Chart of Accounts

    Only a few weeks after your post the team developed and released the ability to Group by Account code in the following reports;

    • Profit & Loss
    • Balance Sheet 
    • Cash Summary 
    • Statement of Cash Flow
    • Blank report 
    • Budget Variance 
  10. It would be great to be have the option of a "related account" or "split" in the Account Transactions Report, so that you can see the other half of the transaction (opposing debit or credit) without having to click on the transaction to view the full detail.

    You can select 'Related Account' from the Columns drop down in the Account Transactions report to include this information.

  11. I’d like to be able to use Google drive on the app and be able to share links to any given file.
    For example: Unit (apartment units) turnovers require multiple pictures (before and after).

  12. Some smb's and charities have individual credit cards for staff without going through one credit card account. It would be great when the bank makes a payment to clear each of the credit cards that the transfer can be divided up between all the respective credit cards.

  13. Currently if you create a bill, it credits the Accounts Payable liability account and there is no way to change this.

    Why isn't it possible to record payments due under different (more specific) liabilities?

    Hi team, looping back it'd be good to explain a little more of how Xero works to help in the understanding here. Xero handles a lot of the double entry bookkeeping for you. 

    Accounts Payable is a system account that Xero doesn't allow direct posting(manual journals) too. The only way to impact this account is through posting Bills, Supplier Credit notes and Payments to these transactions. This ensures the account is always in balance. 

    At an individual level, Xero keeps a record of supplier debts based on the Contact entered on the transaction, and you impact the expense account based on the account selected for each line of your transaction. 

    I do want to be upfront that we don't have intentions of changing the behaviour of how this works in Xero. However, it'd be good to hear more detail if there are specific reasons or other ways in which you'd…

  14. On the Income by Contact Report, it would be helpful to have a total of the customers so we do not have to add them manually. At the moment there is only a total of their spend.

  15. The ability to mark any/all invoices as sent - even if using the copy/share function to send invoices to clients.

    Not all invoices are sent via email. A tick/flick box to mark off any invoices that have actually been sent via the copy/share function would be handy. There could also be another box that would act as a reminder to follow up after 'X' amount of days if the invoice remained outstanding, in the same sort of format that follow-up emails are automatically sent for payment reminder.

  16. It would be great if when you use the search field to search for a name/description, if there was an option to 'select all' of the searched items. I often search for a description and then have 10-15 account codes I want to view, but i have to tick them all individually. A select all button would be amazing!
    There is already a select all / deselect all option but only when there is no description searched.

When you create an invoice the payment terms default to what is set for each customer (ie. 45 days from end of month, 60 days etc) however if you then change the issue date of the invoice, it defaults back to 30 days for every client regardless of their terms. We are looking for it to caclulate to each clients correct terms whenever the invoice date is changed

    Hi team, with some recent changes we made to the date picker in new invoicing you should find this is now working correctly for you. When creating a new invoice the default due date is triggered by the invoice settings, or where set for an individual contact this'll be the date used, also as noted in my update here - now if you update the issue date after a due dates entered, it does not automatically update the due date when you make issue date changes.

    If you're still finding any discrepancies in what you're expecting I'd recommend raising a case with our specialists at Xero Support so we can get more detail and confirm the behaviour you're getting.

  18. At present when editing a contact, the fields are in USA format with Zip code and State - it would be much better for the UK if we could see Postcode and County

  19. WorkflowMax has no understanding of foreign currencies. We now have WFM clients that are being invoiced in either Australian or US dollars as opposed to the standard NZ dollars.

    Before sending the invoice from WFM, we set up the contact in Xero to have the following information:
    Under Financial Details: Currency = US Dollar
    Under Sales Defaults: Sales GST = Zero Rated and Branding Theme - US Invoice

    Hi Amna, could you explain your idea a little more? Would this be to send bulk comms to multiple contacts from Xero, or something like being able to set different persons on a contacts record to receive different types of transactions or communications?
