  1. We need the ability to further customise User Permissions. For example, a company could have 3 bank accounts and one credit card, all of which need reconciling, but I want two employees to share responsibility. So, employee A can do two bank accounts, and Employee B can do 1 bank account, and one credit card, and each can only see what they are responsible for.   2. Payroll Overview Dashboard - Can you please make this editable so that it can be customised to what details we want to see at an easy glance? Also the Calendar populates all 'holidays/public holidays' regardless of what state/country you're in. This should be customisable so that you can opt to only have your relevant holidays shown.

  3. Xero uses 4 decimal places when calculating leave accruals. As it doesn't use the standard 5 decimal places, like most payroll software, the amount of leave entitlement that you record from this in the liability account in the balance sheet and P&L expense is more than it should be.

    But the bigger problem this is causing is the fact that it is actually giving the employee more accrued leave than they are entitled to.

  4. Currently leave requests must be approved before the relevant pay run is commenced.

    If we discover that leave needs to be added at any point after the pay run is commenced, the entire pay run must be deleted, along with any progress made.

    When processing payroll for businesses, I occasionally discover leave should be included only while I'm actually processing the pay run.

    I'd like to have a clone of the leave creation UI as an option while within the pay run process itself. This would show leave balances for the employee, and only have an option to Approve or…

  5. We are long term users of Xero and find many aspects of its functionality make our accounting functions easy! This is not the case in terms of Payroll entry….The Xero Me App does not come close to meeting the needs of a small business like ours….and I am sure we are not entirely unique!

    Our business is predominantly made up of casual employees who work different hours from day to day/week to week. Many of our employees also drive vehicles and require kilometre reimbursement.

    The biggest challenge we have is the accurate recording of employee hours…unfortunately, we have issues around…

  6. Have automatic superannuation payments be able to be paid via credit card, through xero. Currently there seems to only be the ability to make automatic payment via direct debit but it would be good if it could be made by a credit card.

  7. Ability to export pay items and update pay rates in a spreadsheet and then re-import when pay rates have been updated. Would save so much time each year when Fair Work increases pay rates.

  8. with the new functionality of adding start end times and notes, we are not able to print or download this data in any reporting. the only way we can SEE this info is in the individual timesheet by person.
    If you can update the report to include all information that would be useful as the current process is only half done.

  9. Please fix the Schedule 5 PAYG calculation to include YTD commissions and bonuses as well as ordinary earnings. This is causing issues with tax not calculating automatically because the employee's only form of income is from commissions (real estate industry) and they are forced to report it under commissions for STP Phase 2 yet the calculation things they have $0 YTD earnings.

  11. Pay items bulk upload

    can we please have a way of updating pay items in bulk
    when items are imported via a different pay system the W1 area is not updated
    and to do 100 items takes so much time as they have to be one indivually.
    other items can be exported, updated and then imported back

  12. Roster Board for Employee Shift Management.

    A scheduling /roster to show employee shifts. That then can be reconciled against the timesheets submitted. The ability to also send the weekly/fortnighly schedule roster to each employee - or have them be able to view it on the Xero Me app. Have a clock in clock out feature on the Xero Me App to record when a shift starts and ends.

    Hi everyone, we're doing some research on managing employees, particularly looking at our customer's experiences onboarding new hires and setting them up in payroll.

    We'd love to get input from our community here that we know have a vested interest, and we'd really appreciate your time.

Would like to see switch rules work in the notes to the financial accounts the same way they work on the balance sheet - allowing for reclassification of accounts with negative balances, for example negative current asset to current liability or negative non-current liability to move to non-current asset.

    These issues are particularly acute when an account goes from positive to negative and vice-versa between current year and prior year.

    On the basis the switch rule does not operate correctly in the notes to the financial accounts, means that in many cases the switch rule is rendered an unusable feature…

  15. We need to be able to account for annual leave transactions in the general ledger but Xero does not currently facilitate this. Is there any chance that an update will be done which will allow this? I know that this has already been raised but it is baffling as to why a basic payroll/GL integration is lacking.

  17. Currently when opening the TIMESHEETS page the order of the timesheets is very random (example attached).

    The most common reason for visiting this page is to view and approved/reject timesheets so It'd be very helpful for us when we do open this page that the most recent timesheets awaiting approval are at the top.
    Currently we have to click on the 'Last Edited' column header to get the most recent time sheets.
    Can we please have this page DEFAULT set up to accommodate most recent date at the top (example attached).

  18. This is not an idea; it is a requirement, Xero.
    At present, all pay types classified as commissions are being taxed as follows: "The method for Schedule 5 in Xero, calculates the PAYG withholding amount by averaging all additional payments made in the current financial year, over the number of pay periods in a financial year, and applying that to the average total earnings to date".

    If commissions are paid every month, they should not be taxed in this manner, as per this ATO web page which says "Do not use this schedule for payments for a single pay period".

    While it doesn't resolve the needs here right now, I wanted to share this idea that you may also like to join and stay updated in case there is any progress directly within Project reports.
