  2. I would like the option to remove the 'set up online payments' box whenever I create a new invoice. For companies like ours who are never going to use this function, it's irrelevant and takes up unnecessary space (we use invoice finance and our clients don't pay us directly). Could there be a toggle button in the settings to be able to switch this off?

    Hi Kyle, the product team have been working on improving this area and have released a new invoice preview for the PDF. This will display any details you have included in the selected invoice template, so should display the customer's VAT/GST/Sales Tax number if you've included that. We hope this helps!

    Hi team, this is now possible in new invoicing. 🙂

    You'll find when you 'Preview' an invoice in new invoicing if you have applied an advanced branding theme template to the invoice your customised template will be visible.

    Alternatively, you can also Print PDF or use the 'Get link' to view the invoice, too.

Many of my clients are partnerships and trade using the partners initials e.g. J & J Doe but on their reports it displays as %26 and on emails that they are sending with sales invoices, it displays as "& amp;" meaning that when I save reports or they send their invoices, this has to be changed. Having worked in a software house previously, I know that this is a programming issue and one that should have a relatively simple fix so can you please look at this.

  7. URGENT!!!! The new invoicing is quiet frustrating. It doesn't remember past settings when emailing the invoices. So now I need to remember EVERYTIME I send an invoice to click 'send me a copy', which I know I'm going to forget especially if I'm in a rush.

    ANNOYING!!!! There's an added step now to attach a pdf. I now need to click add files then drag the pdf, instead of simply dragging it and clicking to send with invoice or not.

    It would be good if the Save & Close button had and 'Email for Approval'. I email invoices…

  8. Currently, when creating an invoice, the payment terms dropdown gives you the following options:
    - Today
    - 7 days
    - 14 days
    - EOM +1
    - EOM +20
    - end of next month
    I would like to customise this list; the Australian government has recently brought in payment standards of 5 days if sent by e-invoice and 20 days if not, for all invoices sent to all non-corporate Commonwealth entities (including Defence) and neither of those are amongst the standard options.   9. Not sure if this is a problem for others but I couldn't exactly find the same description but there's a similar one, See https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D51N0000554XuiSAE/the-word-attention-from-registered-address-line-at-bottom-of-invoice

    In the "To" section of the invoice, for some reason, After stating the client's company name, the next line with say "Attention: then it's the same company name, followed by the full address and then without starting a new line, then "Attn:" Name of the contact person.

    This looks very sloppy as the "Attention" is repeated in the wrong place, the client's company name is repeated, and then the contact person is not in…

    This can happen when the client's name has been entered in the 'Attention' field of the contact's record.  If you don't want the Attention line to appear on your invoices, you can edit the customers contact's record to remove it from the address field.  

    I've confirmed this works in the global demo organisation. As we can see in the attached screenshot, the 'attention' field has been removed from the address.

  10. Ability to add unique reference numbers to transactions so that user can search by the Xero reference number.

    Purpose: Will be helpful in identifying which transaction belongs to the paper copy of the invoice in a client's records

    Hi everyone, coming back across this idea we do want to confirm at present for Sales you have Invoice numbers that do need to be unique in Xero. You could ask you customer to reference this as a look up. If you'd like to change this, you can set the Prefix and starting number from within your invoice settings and you'll find you also have options to set this for Quotes and Purchase Orders - More on this here 


    The 'Reference' field of a transaction is slightly different and does not need to be unique, many businesses use this in slightly different ways and I want to be open that we don't have plans for changing this behaviour anytime soon. 


    Appreciate there are some that would like to see a numbering sequence for bills and I'd recommend adding support to this idea where this is represented.

  11. On the contacts page you can see the bills and the value, it will either appear with the value in the paid column or the due column unless it has been allocated against a credit. Any allocated credit notes and the invoices they have been allocated to appear as £0.00 in the paid and due column. Now as we have to allocate the credits in order to include them in a bulk payment (a completely pointless time consuming exercise still not addressed by XERO! but lets not get side tracked by another basic function missing) the fact the values…

  12. Ability to set reminders/notifications to raise next invoice in Xero Projects

    When raising the quote, which details the scheduled dates that the customer will be invoiced, it would be useful if you could set a reminder/notification on the project to tell you when to prepare and send the next invoice out.

  13. When sending a new invoice to a client with multiple contacts, I find the most recent invoice relevant to the current project and copy the email details from the History and Notes entry for the action Invoice Sent.
    If there is more than one email address, the old invoicing used to recognise that a comma separated the email addresses. I could paste that into the 'To' box without issue.
    BUT IN THE NEW INVOICING, I get an error message when pasting multiple emails into the 'To' box: "One or more email addresses are invalid."

  14. I've received multiple calls from customers who were confused when trying to find my bank account details on the online invoice. They couldn’t see the bank account details immediately on the view after clicking the "Review and Pay" or "View your bill online" link in the Xero email. Initially, the invoice shows only the Stripe payment option, and customers must click "View Invoice Details" to see my bank account information. This setup is confusing and not straightforward for customers!

  15. When creating a new Invoice and you want to add some billable expenses that you have assigned to the contact in the Bills section, I want to be able to give my clients an itemized bill, the new invoicing option is defaulted to add all items as one line.
    We default to all invoices as itemized, Yes I can select this as an option but would like the ability to select the other as the default option.
    Maybe Xero could create a custom option cookie that would allow customers to select some default settings that make there Xero work…

  17. It could be a glitch or just how the reports work, but Voided Invoices that were voided with a currency value in them, appear on the Receivable Invoice Summary with that value. So Invoice INV-45831 was for £123.00 but was voided. You can now no longer edit that invoice and in this report it eternally has the value of £123.00.

    This is an issue as the data is downloaded to extrapolate many different analysis for sales data.

    A bad fix after the data has been downloaded is to try filter and take out the ££ and change the data…

  18. We need to be able to send reminder letters through Xero but as and when, and to all customers, not just those that have fallen overdue since turning on the function. We have just migrated and have to go through each account and send an email outside of Xero to chase these so therefore no audit trail. This seems a key feature which is missing and easy to implement.

    Appreciate you raising the idea, Emma. To round back and confirm current functionality - If needing to send emails for invoices to multiple customers at once you could use the email feature from the contacts list view - See our Xero central article for detail on this. 

    If it's something you'd commonly do you may like this article in helping you set up email templates where you could create and save a custom template that you'd use when sending an overdue invoice. 

    It'd be good to hear if there is detail that this method doesn't help you resolve, that we can share back with our product team. 

  19. There is no reason to have a limit of 15 Custom DOCX Branding Themes (when those are needed to be used as RCTI). Organisations that issue RCTI do so for many clients so why limit it.

It would be great if a customer could pay more than one invoice on their account using stripe, perhaps when sending a statement there could be a link for Stripe to include all items in that statement, many of our customers have lots of small invoices that require payment at month end and it isn't practical to ask them to make individual payments
