  1. An option to get rid of the message across the top of the Home page telling us that we can switch back to the old Homepage for a short time. All it does is take up valuable realestate.

  2. I like the new look. Can the Business overview heading be removed and the customise button be moved up to where it is in the old homepage, next to last login? Screen real estate is very precious, especially when the client has a lot of bank accounts/credit cards that fall off the bottom of the screen and can get easily missed.

  3. Why don't I have the same Time period options in the 'Net Profit and Loss' widget as I do on the actual report page?
    I want to be able to see CURRENT month, quarter, etc on my home page and not just previous.
    Inconvenient to have to click on the report and then change the time period manually every time I want to see how the month is tracking instead of just having the option directly on the homepage.

    Appreciate the feedback, Andreas. Good to hear the different sections that would be handy to you from the homepage.

    This isn't somethign we have plans for right now, but will start to gather interest in from the community here.

  4. The fonts for the balances are too thin, i feel like they need to be a bit smaller and at least a little bold, this is a very thin line and hard to read.

  5. How do I remove the ads from the Homepage? If I wanted extra widgets I would go looking.

    If the product is missing features then Xero should be implementing them as part of the base package if I am paying a subscription.

    We appreciate your feedback, Scott. This is something we'll start to get a sense of the feeling around from community here, however I want to be upfront that this isn't something we have plans to remove atm. Thanks

  6. Next Payroll Wiget for Homepage
    When the new homepage was launched, I was hoping for a widget that had the link to the next scheduled payroll, the draft amount, the due date, leave to approve, timesheets to approve, last payroll (perhaps), super payments, etc. Layout could be like the 'Bills to pay' widget without the chart. Given that in Australia, SGC will need to be paid each payroll, that draft amount could also be added in the widget, linking to the Super payments module.

    Thanks for your idea and feedback here in the forums, Michael. Our product teams are still working on enhancements to the homepage and we'll keep a watchful eye on the interest in a payroll widget like you've described here.

    I'll let you know if there are any updates to share around this.

  7. A widget or chatbox where you can leave comments for accountant or business owner?

    Ability to strikeoff and clear the comments/tasks. Ability to add attachments like screenshots or even videos will be a great feature for this widget.

    This widget can sit on dashboard.

  8. It would be great to be able to place the widgets wherever you want (like before). I would prefer to have all my bank accounts in a column, as opposed to having to have them horizontal

    Hi everyone, it's easy to see why you’d want more flexibility on the dashboard. When you log in, you want the most important info right there—without having to scroll past everything else.

    For now, Edit dashboard lets you reorder widgets and hide the ones you don’t use often.

    However, we understand that greater layout flexibility could take dashboard customisation to another level, making it feel genuinely personalised to how you prefer to work.

    We’ve moved this to Gaining Support to see how many others are looking for more control over dashboard layout.

  9. Have a widget for custom reports.

    Be able to access your customised reports from the home screen or at least from a button on the drop-down menu.

    Hi team, just make sure we understand the request here - would this be to purely access custom reports, or is there something you'd also want to be seeing from a visual POV on the Homepage?

  10. I would like to customise the columns that appear in the chart of accounts watchlist. I would like have yesterday's closing balance, last month's closing balance, and the change.

    I use the watchlist to monitor clearing accounts, such as daily takings clearing accounts, and being able to spot when a balance has gone awry would be very helpful not only for me but for our team who reconcile these clearing accounts.

    Would be even better if we could add more than one instance of the watchlist then we could have one for clearing accounts with the columns described above, and…

  11. Can we be allowed to change the time selection on the cash in and out view (eg to 12/13 or even 18 months?) seems to be stuck on 6 months for me. I think to see trends you really need to see at least a year

    You're right that the current 'Total Cash In and Out' widget is fixed to a 6-month view.


    While you can see longer periods by running a Cash Summary report, I understand that having that 12 or 18-month trend visible immediately on your dashboard would be much more powerful for spotting seasonal patterns.


    I’ve classified this as 'Gaining Support' to see how many others would like more flexibility with this widget's timeframe

  13. Horrible! Stop forcing these "improvements" on us and listen to people who use it day to day. We just get used to a layout and you change it to make it far harder to work and far slower. New invoicing - awful, takes 3 times as long to copy and create an invoice.
    New homepage - ugly and unintuitive, takes ten times as long to find the functions you need on a regular basis.
    Inability to reconcile accounts - My biggest reason for not recommending Xero to clients. Your so called "reconciliation" is not real reconciliation. You lie to users…

We have various users from accounts administrator to operations managers and the new home screen will automatically show them extra information they don't necessarily need, as in, the operations managers should ideally have the bills and invoices front and centre and not really each other's credit cards. Also, the profit and loss widget is extremely annoying being there as our management is presented with monthly accrual basis accounts and use a custom P+L that require a large number of journals done so the profit and loss widget is wrong until the journals get done.     Hi Debbie, thanks for sharing this idea! Giving a Subscriber control over the team’s homepage layout would be really useful—helping everyone focus on the right tasks while keeping sensitive information private.

    Right now, each user customises their own dashboard, so it can be tricky for admins to know exactly what’s visible. For now, User Roles can limit access to certain data, or you can share a simple SOP with a screenshot of your preferred layout for staff to match.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would find this helpful. Your feedback really helps guide what we look at next.

  15. Add a widget for tracking categories with current and prior month expenses against each or even the top 5 of each category.

    make the hope page printable to pdf and also for the user to be able to present it to a client or board.

  16. We use cash basis for reporting, but utilize the COA watchlist in the accrual basis.

    Having the ability to choose your accounting basis on the Chart of Account watchlist would allow users to take full advantage of the COA watchlist without having to change their reporting basis to one basis to utilize the watchlist and back to the other for reporting.

    Thanks for sharing this idea!


    I can see how frustrating it is to have to jump back and forth into your Advanced Settings just to get the view you need on your dashboard.


    The Account Watchlist is meant to give you a quick "at-a-glance" look at your numbers, and having to change your global reporting basis to make it useful definitely adds extra steps to your day.


    I’ve assessed this and moved it to Gaining Support. This will allow our product team to see how many other users are running their operations on a different basis than their compliance reporting.


    I’ve also updated your title to: Dashboard - Independent accounting basis toggle for Account Watchlist to make it easier for others to find and vote on.

  17. When customising the homepage view, it would be helpful to have the option to set that customised layout as the default view for all users.

    This would make sure everyone logging into the file sees the same key information and widgets to keep everyone aligned

    Thanks for sharing this here. Currently the reason for this functionality to not exist is because the home page for all users may not appear the same. In particular, the users with the same permission roles will get the same view.


    We've moved this idea to gain more support from the community. You can share this with your peers and colleagues so they can add their vote onto it as well!

  18. At a glance, a running total of VAT and Corporation tax due. As a small business, this would be very helpful for planning. Crunch Accounting had this on their homepage and it is the only thing i miss about their very clunky system!

  19. Viewing the page could be easily made simpler by adding a border or shadow to the widgets to help visually separate the bank accounts and etc.

  20. Permanently give the option to stay on the old set-up homepge.
    New one is horrendous! Can't select multiple invoices? And if I can then its impossible to workout how.
