Tax Manager - Remove 'Ready to Start' tax returns from existing jobs
"Ready to Start" tax returns should not show up in existing jobs. We have all these tax returns that are showing up in Job that are not related to the client, Individual Tax Return showing up under an Activity Statement Job for a company that is completely unrelated. If they tax returns placeholder is going be added it should only appear under the client tax return tab, not in an existing Job. And there should be away to turn it off.
Hi team, as we continue to progress with improvements for 'Ready to start' our product team would love to engage with users that have voted for this here; to get more understanding of your setup, and give input on early designs.
If you'd be interested in meeting with the team you can book a time that works best for you through this link 🗓️ Thanks!

This so called feature is a DISGRACE, get rid of it - I've been forced over onto the Partner HUB. I have almost 2000 of these nonsense ready to start returns all listed in multiple groups and jobs. They should not be visible, you are not saving my team time - you are costing time, because now staff are making incorrect forms in incorrect jobs in incorrect years- they are billling the incorrect job and the incorrect year, its a total disaster.
Get rid of this or make it opt in for "ready to start"
This could be the final straw for us to look at an alternative software and practice management system.

Can we have a toggle to remove the "ready to start" returns from our system. For our practice is adds nothing to our processes or targets. We are removing the widgets as they are clutter but the fact that these "ready to start" returns are jumping up to be included in jobs **** west and crooked is causing problems already with our workflow.

Voting to also remove this feature because it creates confusion. Jobs display with a specific practice 'job state', while unrelated” recommended returns appear as “Ready to Start” with all tax returns for the related entities against whatever tax or AS jobs are under the client.
The feature of having all the returns just under 'Tax Manager' as an audit tool is a good feature but the adding to jobs is something we would vote to remove. -

@Kelly, could you please give us feedback as to how long this is going to take to remove this feature

This feature is causing more problems than it solves. It is confusing, creates clutter, and results in tax returns appearing in unrelated jobs. We do not need the system automatically creating return placeholders. We know what returns need to be set up and what job they should attach to. Please remove the functionality or provide a setting to turn it off.

Unnecessary feature and confusing as it creates a tax form under the incorrect job/entity.
The 'period end' is also incorrect as showing 01-Jan-0001. -

This is not an improvement and creates confusion. We ensure all forms are setup in the relevant jobs and XERO suggesting a tax form be set up in different jobs is unhelpful. Please remove it asap.

Agree, please remove "ready to start" from other entities in jobs. Also it shows for every job. We have jobs that are not compliance jobs and they show there too. Very confusing and also unnecessary, moreso as we can also see ALL "ready to start" in the Tax Manager tab.

Agree with everyone's comments. This is super confusing to have these returns added to any job it wants also to say they are "ready to start" which may not be entirely true either. No way to turn it off apart from unticking that we prepare the form via each client which is inaccurate as well, because we do prepare the form, we just don't want it added to any job.

Kelly, Please read the feedback and remove the function altogether, the whole concept is flawed and unnecessary.

Super frustrating feature. Especially how we cannot remove/delete these returns.

Not an improvement at all and certainly does not help in managing workflow.

Agreed - not a great idea at all.. as others have said, at least scope it so that it only gives options relating to the job (BAS in BAS jobs for example) and give us the option to turn it off...

Appears in every job across a group and sits there, the potential for errors is magnified. At the very least give us an opt out function.

I totally agree. This is a very confusing update and I wish we could switch it off.

How about using "ready to Start for items that are in Drafts?

The ready to start returns is a good idea but they should not be attached to a job, just to the individual client under the tax tab.
