  1. When creating a new invoice, the search scope includes every contact in the database, every vendor, evert coffee shop or gas station anyone ever used a credit card at. Xero knows which contacts are Customers (there's a Customer Invoice report), it should pull from Customers only. For the use case where someone is invoicing someone for the first time, they can open that Contact and then click New Invoice.

  2. Currently Quotes are not able to be sent directly for e-sign acceptance (i.e. clients will need to print physical copy of quote, sign and email back unless they have access to adobe sign). It would be an improvement if quote can be sent to Xero Sign for signing and audit trail. Alternatively, it would also be great if clients can accept/decline from the quote email.

  3. In an ideal world when a client pays us via Stripe 100% of the fee would be reconciled and XERO/Stripe would invoice us separately on a regular basis for the applicable Stripe fees.

    Hi Jo, thanks for sharing your idea on how Stripe fees could be handled.

    We understand your 'ideal world' scenario where the full invoice payment is deposited, and Stripe invoices you for the fees separately. We can definitely see how this approach would lead to a much cleaner and more direct bank reconciliation for every single payment.

  4. “Send via Xero Network” feature in your invoicing system, which have negatively impacted our workflow and client payment behavior.

    Since the update, this option now appears at the bottom of the invoice, while the sending process begins at the top. This disjointed placement is not intuitive and often leads to it being overlooked. More importantly, the system does not remember this selection, requiring us to manually enable it every time we send an invoice.

  6. Ability to cc and bcc when sending emails from xero.

  7. When your quote involves different vendors, it would be nice to have the option to create POs with a click of a button for all the vendors but because you can't specify a vendor for each item then at least let us select the line items. Also very important, any additional information that was added to the description during the quote / invoice process should be carried over to the PO.

  8. DISABLE EMAIL SUGGESTIONS FROM XERO

    I WANT TO REMOVE THE ABILITY FOR INVOICES TO BE SENT TO INCORRECT CLIENTS BY INADVERTANTLY SELECTING ONE OF THE (MOSTLY OUTDATED) SUGGESTIONS FROM XERO.

  9. Rows on invoices - On the new invoicing manually adding rows is cumbersome for a mechanic business suggest making more than 1 row on the invoice. I rarely have an invoice which is less than 6 rows.
    Font size- Font is very small and should be increased to at minimum 12pt.

    Hi Lynda, appreciate your feedback here. As you may have seen from updates on this idea we have now added the ability to add multiple rows to an invoice at a time in sets of 5, 10 or 20 like you could in classic invoicing.

    Earlier this year we also enhanced the invoice grid to optimise font size, padding and column widths. I want to be transparent that we don't have further plans for changing the font size in invoicing.

  10. Transaction "History and notes": show in the title how many notes exist. This will avoid having to click the drop down arrow head to check every time. e.g. "History and notes (3 entries)".

    Hi Peter, we get why being able to see the number of entries in the History and notes section at a glance would be helpful, especially when you're quickly checking for activity on an invoice.

    It might seem like a small change, but we can see how it would save time and make things just that bit easier when you're managing lots of transactions.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage, which means we’re keeping an eye on how much interest it gets. Feel free to add your vote or share how this would help you, the more context we have, the better. We’ll keep this thread updated with any news.

  11. After the customer accepts the quote, we need to book the work in. It doesn't get invoiced until the work is complete. It would be helpful if we could add an "Expected Start Date" to quotes after they've been accepted, or at least be able to mark it as "Booked".

    Hi Leonie, trying to better understand your idea here. When you say payment and credit allocations screen - is this when reconciling your bank account? Or somewhere a bit different.

    If you can share a bit more detail of where in Xero, and how this feature would help I can ensure it's shared back with the right product team. It'll help others in the community here understand if this is something they'd like to support, too.

  13. New Invoicing - Remove the edit button in the item list. It is inconvenient and makes completing an invoice with multiple items harder than the new invoicing already is.

    Appreciate customers use Xero in different ways, Meradene. Want to be open that we don't have any plans to remove this option, but we'll begin to get a sense of the interest of this from the idea here.

  15. Copying part of a sent invoice perhaps just invoice number and amount to my e-mail would avoid a problem I had.
    My e-mails were hacked and a monthly rent invoice I had sent was copied the next month with amended bank details.
    I no longer send copies to my e-mail although now I have to concentrate more so I know which ones I have sent.
    This type of fraud has happened to someone else I know - we are more careful with our e-mail security now.

    I'm sorry to hear that your email was hacked, Joanne. As you may have seen in other ideas on the site we are working to develop the History & Notes so you'll soon be able to see detail of the email an invoice has been sent too. Doesn't ideally solve for what you're asking here, so we'll continue to track this separately and update if there's any news of having more control of what you can send with the send to self option.

  16. When emailing a batch of invoices every month I need to click in every email field in turn to scroll along to view second & sometimes third email addresses for that client. Can the email field be widened please. It is so narrow sometimes just one email address can't be seen in full.

  17. New invoicing is missing the mark by getting rid of Classic Features. I can no longer do math when making a payment. I will often post a partial payment ie: 50% payment, I can add /2 or *.5 after the prefilled amount. I can no longer do this in New Invoicing. Why get rid of features? So frustrating now that Classic Invoicing is gone in less than 50 days. It was much more efficient to have add payment at the bottom of the invoice opposed to jumping to the top of the screen to add a payment, and now the…

  18. Please add option to show invoice values excl/incl tax in invoice list views

    Bulk invoice features. We would like to see more functionality added to the bulk editing in the sales overview/invoices:
    - Bulk editing of Due dates
    - Bulk editing of Expected date
    A more consistent 'Tally by checkbox' - this works really well in the invoices lists where a sum of all checked invoice values are shown but this feature is missing in invoice searches.

    Hi Jonas, it's best if we have each idea as a separate thread in the forums here so other members know exactly what they're adding their vote for and our product teams can gauge the interest in a specific feature.

    I see you've already found and voted for this idea on bulk editing expected date. I've also just added your vote to this idea on bulk date change, and I'll slightly amend the title of your idea here for the 'Tally by checkbox' when you have a search applied.

    While the current amount due shown on the list view will show as tax inclusive, if you'd like to view inclusive v exclusive you could run the Receivable Invoice Summary report where you have the option to add Gross, Net and Tax columns. Alternatively if there's a specific reason you'd like to view this from the list of invoices…

  20. Being able to access supplier invoices using the link in the email. Currently we can only access the invoice related to the email. When trying to view other outstanding invoices, I get the message that I don't have permission to view that page and to have my access upgraded even though I have full access (bar subscriber). It would be great to be able to, as a bookkeeper, access other outstanding invoices. A lot of clients will use the link, see that they can access the other invoices, and not see an issue.
