NZ Payroll - Filter Payroll Reports by Tracking Category
The problem:
Xero Payroll does not currently allow reporting by Tracking Categories (e.g. by location, cost centre, or department). While Tracking can be applied to invoices and expenses, payroll reports (Pay Runs, Pay History, Payroll Activity, etc.) cannot be grouped or filtered in the same way.
For businesses with multiple locations under a single entity, this means payroll costs cannot be easily allocated to the correct branch. At present, the only workaround is to export payroll reports to Excel and manually tag employees, or rely on journal postings into the P&L.

NZ Payroll - Option to remove Salary Hours on Payslips
Please update to have the option of removing salary hours on payslips.
We just need the Gross Salary for that line and not the hours.
When we have employees working accross different days of the week Xero Payroll round the hours and so in our example someone on 100 hours working 11 days per fortnight, Xero Payroll rounds the Salary Hours to 99.9999 on the payslip which is close but not correct. Expenses - Option to submit NIL mileage claim
Allow users to put in mileage claims at a nil rate per mile.
This would allow the invoicing team to pick up mileage to charge to clients that is not claimed by operational staff: for example, where operational staff have a vehicle provided by the company.8 votes -
Expenses - Restrict tracking category options
Currently, all our tracking categories are available to those entering expenses, however, the majority are not relevant to expenses (although they are required for invoicing so we cannot remove them from the list). We would like to be able to chose which items in the categories are available and which are not, just like we are able to with the GL accounts.

UK Payroll - Extend SSP without reverting pay runs
SSP EXTENSION; There needs to be a way of extending SSP
Most people who are off sick are not aware of when they will return, it is often necessary to be able to extend SSP. It is not acceptable to have a process that requires reverting payroll. I am still trying to get almost £5000 back from HMRC because Xero reported the variance in April as an additional payroll & the YTD figures have not corrected the issue. AU Payroll - Company logo to appear on payslip email
Can we please add a company logo on the payslip email?
At the moment it just has the 'Xero me' background saying "your payslip is attached" ect. It would be nice to be able to swap that image with our company logo thanks.

AU Payroll - Report to track uncompleted leave requests
leave tracking report for requests that have not been completed, it could fall in previous payroll periods or current or future. This could offer more functionalities for payroll officer to track leaves in a larger payroll.

AU Payroll - Support for prorated salary
I had a situation recently where we increased an employees salary but they wanted to reduce their working hours by 80%. The salary is based on 1 FTE. There is no way to actually do this in Xero Payroll. If I put the FTE salary in (to recognise the actual approved salary increase) and set working hours to 8 hours a day 4 days per week the 1 FTE salary is paid out in full over the year. But it should only be 80% of that. So I had to enter 80% of FTE and reduce the actual work hours…

NZ Payroll: Include other leave types in Leave Liability report
Payroll - Leave Liability Report to include Time in Lieu or Time Banked. For Companies that choose to offer Time in Lieu to their employees, this will be extremely helpful for reporting purposes. Also if it was available in Excel would be great. Thanks.

AU Payroll | Notification for employee turning 18 to request superfund
Can you implement a notification sent to payroll admin in advance of a team member turning 18, so we can prompt them to set up or choose a superfund to ensure compliance with payday super
7 votesThanks for sharing your idea to notify an employee asking for their superfund details when they turn 18. We can certainly see how this would streamline the process for you.
Whilst the system won't currently remind your employee, we can suggest a workaround as a reminder ask the employee for this info when they turn 18.
Here's how:
For under 18s, leave the superannuation line out of their pay template. When they hit 18, you'll receive an error when attempting to post a pay run stating that there's a missing super line with SGC contribution type from their payslip. This can serve as a reminder to set up or add a SGC line in their pay template.
Our product team will keep an eye on this idea's progress and we'll update along the way.

UK Payroll - Edit the layout of employees payslips
change the layout of the current payslip
a) Payment details - electronic transfer to move under the correct column at the moment it appears under YTD
b) YTD details to be moved to the bottom of the payslip within a separate table.
At the moment the payslip is messy and employees find it confusing

AU Payroll - Employee personal information - have editable field for information like Allergies, etc
More and more clients are collecting information on what allergies employees might have, it would be nice to have a field to keep this information on in Xero. It's is becoming a health and safety issue

Payroll AU: Timesheets: Toggle pay items which can be seen in timesheets.
There is a recent feature where all pay items in employees pay templates can now be seen in employee timesheets, however employees can only enter data in the format HH:MM (max 23:59) when doing timesheets via mobile app. Many pay items don't use HH:MM format (e.g. allowances for car, meals). I would like to see 2 things:
1. The data format changed so that you have have other data entered, especially numbers as many pay items need this format.
2. I would like a toggle on each pay item in employees pay templates, which allows you to turn on/off whether…7 votesThanks for sharing your idea about limiting which pay items from the Pay Template appear in timesheets.

AU Payroll - Search for staple superfunds
Would be great if Xero can do the search for employees staple fund especially when Payday super comes in
7 votesHi Kim, Thanks for sharing this idea. There are a number of changes coming to Xero as part of the Payday Super updates ahead of 1 July 2026, and we’re also aware the ATO is currently building a Member Verification Request (MVR) system as part of the broader industry changes.

UK Payroll - Working weeks in year default
I would like the facility to change the default number of working weeks in the year. We work to 52.14 weeks per year and as Xero works on 52 weeks as an unchangeable default, the minimum wage checks - a useful feature - become meaningless
