    Hi there, as part of our ongoing review process, we’re in the process of updating our idea statuses to better track Xero Product Ideas.

    We’ve taken another look at this idea. Whilst we can see the value for payroll administrators to be able to view the payslip in PDF from within the Employee’s record, this update doesn’t currently fit into our product team’s road map. We’ll move this idea to a status of Accepted and will continue to review this in future planning.

  2. A report that provides details of employees leave to be able to see the leave accruals and leave taken for the pay period.
    This would help as an audit trail and when preparing a salary budget or during a salary review.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on this idea. We appreciate you sharing how important granular leave reporting is for your payroll processing. We understand many of you are tracking Leave outside of Xero as a workaround.

    We hear you’re also interested in a Leave Balances Report. UK Payroll - Leave Balances Report is a separate Product Idea, so we’d love to see your votes and ideas on this topic too.

    Whilst a Leave Transactions Report is not currently set in our roadmap, our product team is reviewing the viability of developing more comprehensive reporting solutions.

    We are changing the status of this idea to Accepted. Keep an eye on this idea and we’ll update you when there are further developments.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on how important having a comprehensive employee report is for your payroll processes, especially for pay decisions, managing large teams, and accurate employee identification.

    Our product team is currently working on adding additional fields to the Employee Contact Details report. We’ll keep you updated on when this report is ready to go!

    In the meantime, to get a consolidated view you could download existing reports and combine them outside of Xero.

  4. The choice of payroll reports is so limited on Xero. Can the suite of reports be expanded so that they can give us the information we need to do analysis on?

    Thank you for your engagement and sharing through product ideas, everyone. While we appreciate wanting more flexibility and detail in payroll reports, with payroll development quite separated for each region, and to help our product teams best understand the data that would be most useful for our customers we're going to close this idea and recommend starting ideas for the specific fields that would be helpful in reports and why you'd find this useful.

    Taking a closer look at ideas for what's been mentioned in this thread we have a couple of ideas users in this idea may want to vote on;

  5. Xero Expenses - In multicurrency expenses there is currently no ability to add more than one image/PDF to an expenses claim.
    We have many employees who travel for long periods of time or for certain jobs and need to be able to submit one large expense claim with multiple line items and also provide a photo/PDF of receipts for each of these items. But currently you can only upload one image per expense claim.

    On top of this there is no ability to set a different currency as the default currency for specifics employees which would be a helpful feature…

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback. We appreciate you explaining how important access to reports on draft pay runs is for your workflows, especially for client approvals and pre-submission checks.

    Our product team is currently looking into payroll reporting improvements as part of a wider review, however adding additional reports to draft pay runs is not something that’s on their foreseeable roadmap.

    Currently you can download payslips, P32 and Payroll Activity Details/Summary reports from draft pay runs. These provide a breakdown of employee earnings and employer liabilities, which can be used for pre-checks before submitting your pay run to HMRC.

    Please continue to support other ideas, as this helps our product teams know what's important to you.

  7. The witholding variation should be on top of the existing PAYG calculation not overrides it, as it currently does. If an employee completes a MyGov employee Tax Form and notes they want an additional % amount variation withheld - it should be on top of their existing PAYG tax, not instead of it. There is no other option to put in a percentage amount in XERO.

    Or allow the upward variation amount to be a percentage amount - not just a fixed amount.

    The screenshot attached shows this employee should be paying tax on the full amount (no threshold claimed)…

  8. Have the ability to set the relevant Award Rates and applicable grade so the pay rates gets automatically updated each year when the award rate changes, rather than having to manually make the changes.

  9. Streamlining " Multiple of Employee's Ordinary Earnings Rate" .
    I have a client who has 14 employees and 4 Ordinary Earnings Rate for each employee as their business trades 7 days a week. Each Employee is on a different Ordinary Earnings Rate. The current system on Xero requires you to create and select Multiple of employees ordinary earnings rate in the payroll settings and calculate and enter the multiplier % for each earnings rate for each employee in order for the ordinary earnings rate to be calculated and for the annual leave and carers/personal leave to be calculated.   10. Hi, It would be great if payslips line items match the 'pay template' pay items or alternatively, for pay items that have a YTD amount to be shown on all payslips (with the Nil or $amount for the current pay period as applicable with the YTD) to breakdown 'Other Previous Earnings'.
    This will also assist tracking multiple pay items where it can vary each pay cycle, coding and tracking STP rates and categories, YE finalisation and review. Many thanks.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your suggestions regarding consolidating the information provided in the current leave reports and the suggestion to include a running leave balance.

    We appreciate that the current leave reports in Xero require exporting out of Xero and manual work to track running balances. We hear that this can add time to your workflows.

    After reviewing this idea, we're updating this idea to Not in Pipeline. Whilst we can see the value to you for this particular report configuration, this isn’t an idea that’s on our product teams foreseeable roadmap.

    We know this isn't the outcome you hoped for, and we value your input as it helps us understand what matters to the community. The idea remains open for votes so we can continue gauging interest. We’re constantly reviewing the level of support for your ideas, so will keep you updated if the status changes in the future.

  12. It would be great for those Approving Leave, to also be able to View the Leave Calendar that is currently available to Payroll Admin users in the Overview Window. Those approving leave need to know who else is on leave for the requested period, which we currently replicate in our Email Calendars, however it would be great to take this step out, it will reduce time and eliminate errors.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on the needs for leave approvers to view upcoming leave for their team. We appreciate you highlighting how important it is to have better oversight of team leave without needing full payroll access.

    Our product team is looking into how this idea may fit into a wider review of team management in AU payroll. This is in the early stages of review so not currently on the team’s roadmap, but we'll keep you updated as we learn more.

    Thanks for the detail and support shared for this idea, everyone. We understand how recurring expenses would enable efficiencies when you frequently have expenses of a similar nature (like subscriptions). Currently there is work needed within expenses to enable us to develop future capabilities. We're keen to continue tracking the interest in this through the idea here, and as soon as we're in a better position to be able to dive deeper this work we'll share any progress with you all here. So, while not in the plans at present, please keep sharing detail of your needs and supporting in the idea here.

  14. Currently when opening the TIMESHEETS page the order of the timesheets is very random (example attached).

    The most common reason for visiting this page is to view and approved/reject timesheets so It'd be very helpful for us when we do open this page that the most recent timesheets awaiting approval are at the top.
    Currently we have to click on the 'Last Edited' column header to get the most recent time sheets.
    Can we please have this page DEFAULT set up to accommodate most recent date at the top (example attached).

  15. I would like the payroll reports to be able to be sorted by first name or last name. I sue them for a number of reporting requirements with third parties and it would make it so much easier if I was able to do this.

  18. Could Xero please introduce the ability to report child support deductions and garnishees via STP reporting to the ATO.

    Xero currently does not support reporting of child support deductions through STP Phase 2 with Xero Payroll.

  19. Payroll Department Coding - to be able to put a department code on all payroll categories and report to show employee name/gross wages/department coding assigned to payroll. The only way in Xero at the moment is through timesheets but this does not allow for all payroll categories to have a department code allocated. And when producing a timesheet report it does not show the $ gross wages for each employee only the hours. Need to include coding on allowances, leave and super.
