AU Payroll - Set up second auto super authoriser
Having a 2nd person as a Super Authoriser would be helpful when the 1st person goes on leave.
Hey everyone, we appreciate a lot of recent activity and trend in this idea especially with Pay Day Super coming.
As mentioned in my last updated this is an idea our product teams are keeping a close pulse on and we want you to know this is high on our agenda, likely to be picked up later this year.
While we can't provide any commitments as yet, we'll share another update here as soon as there's progress.

Having one person leaves our business vulnerable if something was to happen to the one authoriser or if that person goes on leave. Please give us the option to have a second super authoriser.

We use two laptops and can't seem to pay super from the second device.

The Director who authorises our payroll and super is not always available due to travel requirements. Would be great to have our backup Director added to the super to cover these instances.

This is essential. If I get hit by a bus, my clients' employees still need to be paid and their super obligations dealt with. And where the subscriber and the approver are the same person, this gives a single point of failure (and Xero won't be paying the Superannuation Guarantee Charge if the super is late due to having that single point of failure)

It would be helpful to have the option to have two people as registered approvers for superannuation. That way if one person is unavailable, the other could approve the payments. As it stands, the only way to change an approver is by the approver themselves or the subscriber. We have an external accounting firm as our subscriber and if the approver is out of action, it can take considerable time to get the approver changed and the superannuation batch approved.
Looking forward, if super payments are required at time of payroll this will become a significant problem with approving super in a timely manner when approvers take leave or are indisposed. -

Critical we can’t just rely on one person to do this, it should be a choice in user settings. Xero is supposed to be about convenience and ease of use and not the case with this limitation

As super is a legal requirement a second Authoriser is a must in case of emergencies not for just leave what happens if they are sick or have an accident.

This has just become a problem for us, especially with the long delay between approval and hitting employee bank accounts, which is critical.

We have an office mobile, so that no approval codes for any of our clients are going to personal mobile phones without audit oversight. Having said that, sometimes the client should be allowed to send off their own super...

With COVID-19 affecting organisations everywhere, it is critical that we have business continuity plans. Having only one superannuation authoriser is bad management. Having more than one approver would make a big difference to us.

Ability to have more than one person as the approver for Superannuation Automation processing. This will allow contingencies when approvers take leave.
