  1. I am a Xero user (not Practice Hub/XeroHQ) with user access to 33 Xero files. Each day I need to go into each individual Xero file if I want to check what Bills are coming due or outstanding sales invoices. Would it be possible to improve the My Xero screen which shows all the Xero files I have access to to be more like a dashboard showing what is outstanding/due and what tasks are needed across all Xero files. Thanks :)

    Hi Jessica, thanks for bringing this idea to our attention. We understand that a single view showing key items like outstanding invoices, upcoming bills, and unreconciled transactions across all your organisations could make it easier to prioritise work and keep on top of daily tasks without switching organisations.

  2. It would be helpful to us if we could enter a bill into Xero, submit it, and then have the option to copy all the line details of that bill to an invoice, using the Sell Price in Products and Services (if they exist as items in the catalogue).

    Some of our customer transactions are literal 'we buy in, add mark-up, and sell on' and we currently have to enter both a bill and a separate invoice to achieve this. Being able to take a bill and copy it to a draft invoice, ready for adjustments, would be very useful…

  3. The Organisation settings page should have collapsible headings, similar to the Reports page, for clear, concise, and faster access to settings.

    Currently, the new look of the organisation settings page is a large step backwards. It is difficult to quickly find and select a setting area that is not part of the shortcut menu options in the new look homepage/menu rollout.

    The current organisation settings page is an exercise in excessive scrolling abilities to find the setting you need to access quickly.

  4. Please remove the latest update on Xero: when you copy an invoice it automatically opens a new tab on my laptop. I have more than 20 invoices to post everyday, I do not wish to have 20 tabs on my screen in the end. Not every update is a good update. When you don't have a better update, it's better to just maintain it.

    Totally get it's still round about to the direct ask you have here, however did you know it's now possible to add a new tracking option as you enter an invoice?

    Maybe this could dave you from having to go to the Tracing Settings before entering your invoice?

    Either way we'll start to track the interest from others in having a quick access link for this, here.

  6. The current signup process, while being advertised for bookkeepers actually requires a registration with the TPB as a tax or BAS agent, however pure bookkeepers categorising transactions and doing account reconciliations have no need to lodge BAS' and hence no reason to obtain a BAS agent number.

    This oversight prohibits bookkeepers from signing up to the partner program and growing the platform.

    A simple "do you intend to make lodgements for your clients - yes/no" button before the "BAS agent number" input field would suffice.

    Appreciate you sharing the idea here Hamish. bookkeepers can’t sign up for the Xero partner programme without BAS/TPB registration at the moment. We understand this may not be useful for people who do not want to register for Tax. We'll open this idea up to the community so we can gain some support on it. In the meantime,make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

  7. I love the way the various areas have been split now (Home Sales Purchases Payroll etc)

    I would prefer that reports relating to each of those sections, be stored in their menus. IN the Reporting menu, I have 10 varying reports which make it a long menu path. If they were in their individual menus (e.g. Aged Receivables Summary in Sales menu; Aged Payables Summary in Purchase, all Payroll related reports in Payroll) it would be easier to find and more logical. You could have more reports visible as well in each Menu.

    Great to hear you like the new layout of the navigation, Jason.

    Appreciate how further customisation of reports and possible nesting under the relevant menu drop downs could be useful. We'll get a gauge of the interest in this from others in the community here.

    This isn't something we have plans for atm, but will share if this gets picked up at all.

  8. I have seen the new Xero update, and the search bar has changed (only looks and complaints)
    1. The search bar stays open, so you manually have to close it, which is slightly annoying.
    2. Your search stays in the bar when it is closed. So when you open the bar again to search for something else, you have to delete the original search. If it has been a while since you last searched, you forget, and it can be so frustrating.

    If the search bar were fixed (actually finding things I were searching for), I wouldn't mind. But this…

  10. Right now, the dashboard shows "Loading your transactions" for bank accounts far too often and for far too long. The dashboard should always show the current state of the user's accounts, not what is essentially an indeterminate progress bar. It would be more user-friendly to remove the message entirely because it doesn't give users any actionable information. If new transactions come in while the user is doing things, simply update the dashboard to indicate that there are new transactions to reconcile, even if the user just finished reconciling what was there before.

  11. Is there a way that we could see the names of opened Tabs so that we could see the name of what we are working on such as Balance Sheet instead of seeing Xero | Balance Sheet. When we open HST/HST returns, it shows GST/HST Returns which is great.
    We know we are with in Xero. If Xero has to show up, it could be added to the end of the Tab heading. This way, opened Tabs would be a breeze to drag in alphabetical order. This would also facilitate working with Workona resources to put Tabs in alphabetical order.

  12. Hi, on the mobile app, it would be really helpful, if when reconciling bank entries, when xero comes uip with its "suggestion", that is also displays the VAT line. Saves having to go into the suggeestion edit and check VAT is applied correclty

    Hi Ray, we understand how helpful it'd be to see the VAT/tax line directly on the automated reconciliation suggestion in the Xero Accounting mobile app. Currently, the mobile reconciliation suggestion card doesn’t show the tax line, which means extra taps and added steps.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. Your votes and comments help us understand how important this feature is to the wider Xero community and guide our product team’s priorities.

  13. Move "jax" and the new "Apps" icons into the Company Drop Down on the right hand side so they don't clutter our tool bar and you can go in there and chose to activate them or not.
    Give us some choice please - I'm not loving having the search icon so far over now, as it has to make space for these 2, which I will not be using.
    p.s. I did sign up for the Beta of jax and the first answer was wrong...

    Hi Rachel, to give another update here we are continuing to keep a close eye on JAX related idea sin the forums here, however at this time we still don't have any plans to change the positioning of the change icon in the navigation.

    Make sure to share this idea if you have colleagues that would like to see this change too, for now we'll continue to get a sense of support in this here.

  14. It would be nice to be able to give access to the History and Notes to Standard users. Right now it's only visible for Advisors while I believe this is a feature that could be useful to Standard users as well.

    Thanks for your feedback, Johanna. I want to be open, while we'll continue to work on improving the experience when verifying with Xero we don't have any plans to remove the Xero verification process or completely integrate this with other systems verification processes.

  17. Amend the Standard user level to have the ability to delete draft asset draft transactions. If an invoice has been incorrectly entered and allocated to asset account and the information pushed through to draft assets, the standard user, who made the error should be able to correct it. They are able to correct the invoice side of things, but this does not remove it from the draft asset list, and they are unable to delete. Standard users have the permissions to delete draft bills and invoices, and even bank lines and statements.. but not draft assets?

  18. It would be great to be able to limit the accounts that show based on whether they have a value that is not 0. This would be useful for PAYG Payable, Superannuation Payable, Suspense accounts etc.

    Instead of a long list of accounts with 0 balances, it would allow the user to only see the account that have a value.

  20. Can you allow both a BAS agent and Tax agent (and the staff of each) to both have "Advisor" access to a ledger file.

    As only the subscription holder and their staff can have this currently it limits the functionality of the other practice who also have legitimate need for reporting etc.
