User Role - Access to Products & Services (Inventory) and Purchases/Sales only
Ability to allow individual access to inventory(products & services) and sales in Xero.
Purpose: Enable ability to view different sets of information within an org.

I'm happy to share that we have just rolled out these Product & service permissions to all users. To recap the change - within User Settings you'll now find there are multiple options to assign Product & service permission for an Invoice only user
- No access
- View
- View and create/edit
- View, create/edit, and adjust stock
We really value the input we have received from our community in the needs for more granular permissions for Inventory. We believe this new set of options will effectively meet the needs of the majority of our users. Thank you for your input! 🎉🙏

Seems like the only way to get around this is to sign up to another subscription for sales order processing and inventory management.
All of these functions are active in Xero just need to invoice only users to be able to access them. This needs to be addressed. Nobody wants to have to change their system but will be forced to if there is no action. -

Xero realise that most customers will not change to competitors product, because the cost of change is too great. So they simply bat away this forum with silence.
Although it would be nice to get some update form Xero, even if it is no news!

It greatly surprises me how comprehensive user access does not form part of the initial release. It is core functionality for any business application in my mind.
If the developers can please acknowledge this thread and respond with the progress update and estimated release date then us, the users and your custoners, will feel less blatantly ignored? -

I don't know. Maybe I'm missing something. But how can you spend so much time on what the product looks like and now, good grief, introduce pointless AI functionality when this basic and fundamental building block of a problem remains unsolved...

I really wish I could delegate inventory to one of my staff members but I cant because in order for her to have access to change inventory but I cant see how to do this without her being able to see profit and loss reports and balance sheets etc.
Is there a way to give her inventory access only?

It is staggering that Xero don't respond to this. If there is a reason that this can't be added then just explain, or give the updates Kelly Munro has promised. I think Xero is great in so many ways but this is forcing us to look elsewhere as we want to grow.

Our firm no longer recommends Xero for anyone who requires multi level user access. We have moved on because Xero has failed to.
Saying it would be a nice add on feature instead of referring to it as a critical flaw in their software, shows their development team simply don't understand how organisations actually work. -

I still can't believe this hasn't been resolved.
The response from Kelly Munro seems to be a generic answer.
If Xero did stock holding, and needed staff to make adjustments to the stock, I'm sure this would have been resolved by now. I don't believe for a second that the senior managers and directors at Xero would want all the staff seeing the bank balance.The thought of having to move to another software platform isn't great but I think Im going to have to vote with my feet because Xero just doesn't seem to be interested in getting this resolved.

any update on this ?
i am tired of every time need to pull AR / AP ageing , inventories report as and when colleagues needed. And tire of answering others queries related to inventory as they don't have access to the "products and services" , they unable to zoom into individual stock items to see why there is error on the qty / value.

come on xero how much longer are we going to have to wait for this to be sorted out. There are many other platforms that can do this and we like many,many others are looking to change because you are making no effort to sort this problem out.

Also if you look to the left of this panel you will see the totals of suggestions. over 6000! What does that say?

Yes its the apparent (to Xero) little things but big things (customer), that can gradually erode their market share. Competitors will be alert and fill the gap over time. Trouble is when you get too big for your boots, you lose sight of the little things.
