  1. Can you take the option of making reports favourites by marking them with a star and allow us to do the same with orgs so that a Client Manager can favourite the clients in their portfolio rather than having to search for their clients among the clients of the whole practice?

    Thanks for your support on this idea, community. With Xero Partner Hub slowly rolling out to practices over the coming months our product teams are working on many enhancements that will help streamline and efficiently manage your practice.

    As part of the new homepage experience we are looking into a widget that will enable quick access to your most frequently used client files. I'll be sure to keep you updated on further news of this here.

  2. There used to be a tab where we could check which of our clients hadn't filed their GST returns on time, this has been removed, can you please bring it back as we now have no way of checking if we or our clients have missed filing a return.

  3. I use 'client groups' extensively in HQ. I need to see which clients are not in a group at all, and which ones are in more than one group, but this is not possible. Please allow us to report on which groups each client is in.

    Hi community, just jumping in here to share that we have recently made an improvement to the groups feature in Xero HQ 🎉
    Within a Client record, you can now see what groups they belong to, and add or remove them - check out this article for more information. Please note, this is not available as a report, but is available on a client by client basis.

    While the team have been really busy working on the single client record, they also hope to introduce a Groups list and group details (similar to what is currently available in XPM) to increase the ability to manage Groups within HQ. We’ll be sure to return & update you here when that’s available.

  4. We have staff accountants who work in teams. Ideally, we want them to have the "Manager Role" but when that is the case they can only see Workpapers they have created.

    We would prefer to have the option to give staff with "Manager Role" the ability to see and edit all Practice current and/or archived workpapers.

    The alternative is to give them a Partner Role which has a lot of other access we don't really want them to have (ie restore/delete, etc).

    Hi team, I'm happy to let you know that we’re working on a new Xero Workpapers solution, within which practices will be able to grant staff the ability to see all workpaper packs for clients they have access to 😊

    In addition, it offers more control over staff permissions within Workpapers, including the ability to restrict certain actions to just administrators or reviewers.

    We've just started rollout to Australian partners with more regions to come in the new year. Thanks again for your feedback and we'll post another update to confirm when released to all Partners.

  6. Recurring jobs allow for staff allocation. When you need to amend these reallocations they have to be done one by one. We would like to be able to make these bulk as they can be in live Jobs.

  9. To be able to duplicate a contact, therefore not having to retype in the address, phone number and all other details. You would just need to rename the client and change the IRD number etc before saving. This would be a huge time saver.

    Just to clarify, when you say ‘duplicate a contact’ would this be; the ability to duplicate an entire client (including all its contacts), to duplicate a contact within an existing client, or duplicate a contact from one client to another?

    If the last, we have a similar idea over here that I can join you in with. 🙂

  10. XeroTax: Showing Client ID Code on Client page and being able to search by Client CODE, TFN, ABN, Mobile.

    We have many clients with the same name and we have to keep manually looking through their details to make sure they are the right client.

    Thanks for the feedback here, everyone. We get how being able to use custom Excel templates for Workpapers could save you time and power up your use of Xero Workpapers.

    Currently, you can export Workpapers data to Excel and then copy info into your preferred template. Allowing you to continue using your custom templates for now.

    The good news is we're delivering a new Workpapers solution, and our team are exploring how to enable this functionality within this.

    We'll post an update as soon as we have any news to share.

  12. The current sync of "clients" from XPM to "contacts" of the practice Xero Blue file only updates when an invoice is sent across.

    Surely this could be made into an immediate sync, or at the very least an overnight sync?

    Given XPM doesn't integrate with a whole lot of software and doesn't integrate with Zapier, many add-ons practices use are linked with the Xero Blue file and require that data to be accurate. Debtor collection software for example, marketing software, etc, all require contact details to be accurate, and if clients change details, there can be a large delay before…

    Hi everyone 👋 thanks for your feedback around the sync between Xero Practice Manager (XPM) and Xero Blue.

    You may have heard our Xero’s practice tools are evolving into one seamless platform with Xero Partner Hub. With focus on this new hub at present we want to be open that there are no changes for the sync between Client in practice tools and Contacts in your Xero organisation.

    This maybe something we look into in the longer term but want to be open it's not in the roadmap at present.

    We'll continue to keep a close eye on the support here, and share if there's any progress.

  13. Have the ability to send a copy of the actual message/links sent to a client to our own email when we we send something for e-signing via Xero Sign. Adobe sign has this option.
    This would help us because:
    1. It is a professional requirement to keep a copy of all correspondence sent to clients.
    2. It also would help when they call and have a question about what to do if you could have the exact copy in front of you to step it through with them.

  14. Have a workpaper for motor vehicle private use adjustments with calculators for FBT, logbook, and mileage reimbursement. Be able to have more than one like the home office workpaper does. And have this roll forward like the home office one does so that you can see the method used by the client and the FBT/logbook values etc.

    Hi everyone, we're happy to say we've been looking into the Workpapers feature taking on board many of the ideas from our forums here. The inclusion of decimal places for things like entertainment expenses will be part of our new Xero Workpapers where all workpapers will show to 2 decimal places. We're starting with releasing this to our Australian partners with intentions to share wider in 2026. Along with information on our Xero blog and website, we'll keep you updated of it's release here.

  16. Removal of 'completed' jobs from the job list when preparing an invoice in XPM.

    Sometimes we invoice a parent client with multiple entities jobs appearing and this can be very hard to navigate when looking for current jobs to invoice - even if the status is marked to be invoiced. It would be more efficient if completed jobs just didn't appear in the list.

It would be great to be able to see the balance owing once the BAS is submitted....have a client in credit and had to log on to my OSFA portal to check the running balance to let them know whether they had to make a payment yet. Would be great to get this data into Xero tax somehow. Anything that avoids us having to use the ATO portal is a great move

Contacts grouping - When exporting clients to a CSV file, being able to see which clients are allocated to which group, I've assigned a group (there's about 8 different groups in total) to 2/3 of my 1500 client list, but now have to sift through 1 by 1 allocate a group to the remaining clients.

  19. To make it easier to create jobs in XPM it would be useful to have a link to create a new job once you have unsuccessfully searched to see if there is a job already set up for the client. At present you have to log out of job search then create a new job, which involves finding the client name again.
