  1. So annoying to open an archived workpaper pack, want to check a document that was attached to an account and you can't! Have to scroll down and find it amongst all of the attached documents from that whole workpaper. Nightmare!

  2. Hi,
    In tax returns for clients that have a business schedule in their ITR, when an asset is fully depreciated, in the following year it disappears from the tax return and depreciation schedule altogether.

    Is there a way assets can remain on the depreciation schedule? It is very handy to have a full depreciation schedule for all assets, particularly if clients sell assets in the following years.

  4. In Xero Tax, you should be able to change the name format for all directors even if they've been appointed after the Accounts Year End. Currently if you've changed the name format for directors previously from 'SURNAME, Name' to 'Name Surname' when a new director is appointed post year end, they are brought into the company information page with 'SURNAME Name' format and there is no ability to change the format to 'Name Surname' to match the others so you then need to change the other directors to 'SURNAME Name' format to match.   5. The ability to view/ create Reoccurring jobs within the individual Client. at the moment its a very different setup to create Reoccurring jobs.
    Additionally the ability to convert a single job to a reoccurring job. Will make creating jobs much easier.

  6. It would be great to be able to move timesheet entries between tasks/jobs from within a draft invoice.

    Currently if an employee has allocated time to incorrect job or task, it appears the only way to correct this is to delete the invoice, open the job, move the timesheet entry and then create a new draft invoice.

  7. Currently there is only the ability to enter 4 Directors names into the Report fields in 'Advanced accounting › Report fields and schedules'
    So when we run the advisor reports, on the Director Declaration's page we have to manually type in the extra directors.
    Can you increase the fields for more than 4 directors and even more than 4 partners.

    Thanks for engaging and sharing the idea here - Having a deeper read to interpret, there's the ability to add more client report fields that can be included in your report templates yourself (such as Director 5, Director 6 etc) - See detail in our help here.

    A couple of pointers to note, are;

    • ensure you have the Edit report templates permission, then
    • add the new client report fields at Xero HQ level first; this'll make them available to add in your Report templates. Then, add the names of the directors at the client level.

    We hope this helps you overcome the idea here, let us know if this doesn't quite accomplish what you're asking.

  8. We are a firm of accountants and have a number of husband and wife landlord clients who own rental property jointly.

    Will one version of the software be able to split the rental figures and submit two MTD returns, or will they need their own version of the software each and have to manually halve the figures where the income is paid into one joint bank account?

    It would be so much easier if the software could automatically halve the figures and submit two MTD returns.

  9. It is not really Xero HQ, it is in MyXero dashboard and in subscriptions where you can input a client code. This is the code that then shows on the CSV file attached to the monthly Xero bill for client subscriptions. At the moment this client code can only be input manually. We really need the ability to export client subscription list and re-import with a client code so that it would make allocating client Xero files for billing easier each month.   10. Please can we have a simple Tax Return Status report that we can run by tax year (or other appropriate filters) that shows all the relevant fields that I can see on personal tax return screen.

    This way we would be able to run a report for a particular tax year and see who we still have to do by way of a control check. This would also be useful on the company tax and accounts side

  11. Xero Practice Manager - Tax

    I want to be able to run two reports to see which staff have tax access to which clients and to see to which clients a staff member has tax access. This is very important for security purposes and additionally to help us meet our obligations as tax agents.

    Hi all, we appreciate you sharing and supporting in the idea here. As I'm sure you'll have noticed we have released new unified client and staff experiences.

    While it's not possible to create a report to identify which staff can access client tax returns just yet, this is something that our product team are exploring.

  12. When sending tax payment letters out via email it would be great to get an email if the address used is invalid. Like a bounce-back when you send an email from your usual email program. At the moment you have no idea if the client received the tax payment letter at all.

    Thanks for sharing and supporting in this idea, everyone. Right now, developing GST F5 for foreign currency in Singapore isn't in our roadmap.

    Currently, Singapore organisations can access the GST Audit report that shows the base currency, FX value and Singapore dollar value information you’ll need to meet IRAS requirements.

    You can also use the Foreign Currency Gains and Losses report to show the gains and losses needed for IRAS reporting.

    We'll continue to get a sense of the interest in this idea, and if there are any changes will share news with you here.

  15. Enable full visibility of Contacts when accessing via Additional Contacts area in Client screen.

    Currently, when we access a Contact via the Additional Contacts section of the Client screen, not all contact fields are displayed.

    Furthermore, when editing or adding a new contact, we cannot edit or access all the contact details. We cannot add or edit Mobile numbers or custom fields for Contacts. To access these, we have to exit the Client screen and access Contacts separately via Clients > Contacts.

    This adds a lot of extra steps that can be avoided by ensuring full visibility and full access…

  17. Previously in Xero HQ you could invite a new staff member and immediately assign clients to them - This was efficient. Now the staff member has to accept the invite first before any clients can be assigned.

    We understand this is a feature practices may like to see. We'd like to get a gauge interest from beta participants that'd find this feature useful - Add your vote, share importance and any comments to share extra detail of how this would help your practice.

  18. Be able to export list of archived clients, especially if they still have xero subscription that was missed to cancel. So that these can be easily reviewed.

    We are paying Xero for no reason at all.

    Also the ability to bulk change those archived clients eg cancel subscriptions

    Perhaps when clients are archived there should be something to flag to remember to do something with the subscription eg cancel or transfer.

  19. In APS you have the ability to live synch the tax ledger. As an example a transfer to 2025 from 2024 income tax made today won't show until the next day in the tax return summary.
    A synch button to do this would be helpful and save time from stopping the job until the next day to print/save

  20. Currently when producing and filing (lodging) a CURNN is does not display the Financial Year it relates to. It would be very helpful to have the FY displayed so it is easily identifiable. The same as all the other Tax Returns.
