XPM: Move invoices from one job to another
I have two situations where the billing in the financial part of the system was being charged by staff rate instead of by task rate. I am not sure why this occurred - possibly human error. So I created new jobs and tried to move the paid progress invoices to the new jobs but it isn't possible. Is there any way that we can move invoices in XPM from one job to another?

Practice Manager | Report Builder - 12 month option in Monthly Summary reports
In XPM Report Builder, for "Monthly Summary" report types, there needs to be an option added for 12 months of data to report.
This would allow a full financial year's worth of data to be summarised monthly where required.

Xero Files | Report: Ability to see user access
Ability to identify which Xero files staff members who leave the firm have direct access to the client Xero file as opposed to being granted access from a firm level. This way, before you delete the user from Xero HQ/Blue you can check to see if any clients need to be contacted to update to invite the firm rather than a specific employee.

Xero HQ - Ability to sort clients by "Unreconciled Items"
With the updates happening around Xero HQ, it would be a great time to be able to provide additional search functions on the Practice Client list. At a minimum, being able to sort by "Unreconciled Items" would be very helpful.

Workpapers - Ability to create historic packs (6+ years old)
Ability to create historic workpaper paper packs over 6 years old would be helpful for those clients that need their accounts brought up to date and need to prepare financial statements over 6 years old.

Personal Tax (UK) | Xero Payroll Integration
When completing employment earnings and benefits from Xero Payroll into Xero Tax, it would be really useful to have the two linked. This reduces repetitive tasks and reduces input error.
8 votesHi Michelle - thank you for raising. We can definitely see how this would help. I've checked with our Product team and this is something that is not currently on our immediate roadmap. However, we will continue to monitor this. In the meantime, we are in the process of adding integration with HMRC to pull employment data for all individuals.

Xero BAS - Finalise BAS in a Xero file connected to the ATO, without submitting to the ATO
Problem: Xero connected to the ATO for activity statements. Client prepares monthly IAS (PAYGW only), Adviser prepares quarterly BAS (GST and one month's PAYGW). Adviser has to disconnect from ATO to finalise BAS in Xero and import into Xero Tax (to be able to send to the client for electronic signing and then making lodgement to the ATO).
Solution: make it possible to finalise the AS in Blue Xero without disconnecting from the ATO, allowing Client to continue submitting IAS to ATO from within Xero and Adviser to import into Xero Tax to send for e-signing and lodgement.

While we did explore this further, we unfortunately had to put it on hold for now. We totally get how improving these connections would help you here.

Practice tools | Clients - Error message when client record fails to save
I've just spent too long going through the client record fields to figure out that the reason that the record wouldn't save was a duplicate client code. Before the update, XPM would pop up with something like "client code already in use" or "TFN not valid". Now, there's no message at all. Please restore the error messages!
Further, please restore the ability to update related client addresses all at once.

Xero Tax (UK) | For CT600 box 326 to be left blank but be a compulsory field
I think to reduce the risk of associated companies not being included in the CT600 in error box 326 should be left blank by Xero but compulsory so that that the return can not be generated without it.

AU Tax - Ability to lodge FBT return for clubs & society structures
FBT Returns - I have been informed by Xero Support that FBT Returns can only be created for the following structure types:
Individual
Company
Trust
Partnership
Self Managed Superannuation FundNoting that individuals, partnerships and SMSF do not require FBT Returns it seems more prudent to make them available for the club and society structures who actually my have FBT to lodge.

Please add SA801 Property Income Pages to the Partnership Tax as we have a few partnerships with rental income.

Practice Manager - Milestones option to view at the top.
Since the XPM update (April 2025) milestones in XPM are now at the bottom of jobs. They should be at the top of the job (as they were previously) so that they are one of the first things we see on a job. We use milestones to remind us of important filing dates so relegating this to the bottom of jobs requires too much scrolling and is very frustrating.

AU Tax - ITR signatory for deceased or incapacitated individuals
Where the individual client title has been changed to "Executor for" or "Representative for" the declarations should also be updated with this information. Currently the declarations still just use the individual name, who may be deceased or unable to sign on their own behalf.

AU Tax - Automatic filing of a suspended return

Settings - Reducing the size of text/fonts on the screen
Could xero consider reducing the size of text/fonts on the screen. I don't need super extra large enormous text to do my work. Everyone walking past or coming to speak with me can read my screen and see bank details and values, employee names and $ amount and so the list goes on. I have already asked if there can be a bland landing page so that bank accounts (Including balances) are NOT the default screen. Anyone standing nearby can see this information when Xero starts. Both of matters limit confidentiality and most users don't need this sort of exaggerated…

XPM Budget Field - Only available if Staff have Access Financial Data permissions
The job budget is a key piece of information for all staff to have visibility. However the Budget field on a job is only visible if staff have Access Financial Data permissions. Giving Access Financial Data permissions allows staff to view and edit client billing details, edit practice subscription and export subscription. Surely, such wide ranging powers is not appropriate for ALL staff.
Surely this permission should fall under the "Manage Jobs" permission matrix not under Finances permission matrix.

Workpapers - Edit prepayments
Currently the prepayments page on workpapers is a permanent workpaper which brings forward all of the prior year entries every year. This means that historic prepayments carry through. Currently they can't be deleted which leads to a cluttered workpaper. It would be great if line items that are no longer needed could be deleted. As per the file attached - it would be ideal if the nil rows could all be deleted.

XPM - Improve Sorting order of Client names in XPM
In MYOB, we had individuals as well as partnerships and trusts (which names included surnames of the associated individuals) set up in surname order, which would allow the clients to be sorted, filtered and exported to various lists or worksheets in that order and make it easy to compare/pick up other fields that should be the same for the group/family members (like addresses, emails for tax notices etc). We are moving this to Gaining Support, but we want to let you know that in the Client list you can still search for clients using the last name, this will pull all the clients wiht that particular last name in the search results.
