  1. Is it possible to have a "heads up" on what changes are being planned.
    For example, the procedure for client deletions has just been changed so that a client with IRD Number/Tax Return cannot be deleted, with no notification to us as users that the change was being contemplated, let alone actually happened.
    This then leaves us asking for the change to be undone.
    If been advised beforehand, could have suggested options which be suitable to all parties and mean that reprogramming is not required.

  2. Ability to Delete a Client from Xero Practice Manager if they have an IRD Number and/or Tax Returns.
    Have found that XPM has been updated so can no longer delete a Client if they have either and IRD Number or Tax Returns (including Archived Tax Returns). Client has to be Archived instead. Wanting to delete especially in cases such as the Client being deceased, rather than having to Archive (especially as Archived Clients can still appear in reports).

Ability to upload multiple documents to workpaper queries at one time, currently can only select and upload one document at time which can be quite time consuming if a client has supplied you with 12 months bank statements to upload. I note this bulk upload feature is available when saving supporting documents to workpapers so not sure why this functionality can be expanded to include queries?

  5. It would be extremely helpful to be able to view and report on how much of the budget is left on a job.

    Reports in XPM focus on time rather than WIP and there are no standard reports that include job budgets. I want to be able to report on how much of the budget is left on a job without having to export to excel and run a formula.

    MYOB had a great Job Manager and you could view all jobs on one screen and see the budget and what budget left and if there was more WIP than…

  6. The Pre-fill has capital losses noted in it, so it would be great if the pre-fill amount was reflected rather than relying on roll forward information. Seems to be commonly missed with new clients.

  9. Ability to identify which Xero files staff members who leave the firm have direct access to the client Xero file as opposed to being granted access from a firm level. This way, before you delete the user from Xero HQ/Blue you can check to see if any clients need to be contacted to update to invite the firm rather than a specific employee.

  10. Time Sheet Calendar.
    One of the best features of APS is the ability to enter time in a calendar view. You can specify the time units ie 6min, 10 min etc and it presents a week on view for you to add time aka MS Outlook Calendar.

  11. Can the Directors, Shareholders and Shares held, beneficiaries, Trustees etc in XPM be available to import into the Financial Statements template so it can stop you having to create custom fields with this information to report on?

    1/ when a prefill has an ETF, and said ETF has a CGT component (18H) can xero just auto answer YES in the cgt worksheet bit? As oppose to the user (us) having to go through each etf, select YES

  14. Have a multi tick box option for custom fields to be able to select more than one option.
    i.e. we are a multi disciplinary accounting firm and offer multi different services such as advisory, tax, bookkeeping etc and won't to be able to identify what the client has engaged us for [frequently it's more than one service]

It would be great to have a cover letter placeholder that alerted the client to the estimated Div 293 that would be payable (as the superannuation contributions worksheet) and that the ATO would issue a separate assessment. The note on the estimate is not prominent enough and easily missed by clients. Having it default on the letter would be another opportunity to make sure the client sees it.

  16. Classic Workpapers - the Ability to export workpapers to pdf in Bulk. In preparation for the end of the classic workpaper, so that we can upload to our document management system for future reference and audit requirements.

  17. When exporting invoices from XPM to Xero it should by default export the client name, address, email address and contact number.

    Currently it only exports the client name and postal address, and contact name, email and phone number (but only if that contact is NOT a client in XPM and only if you select that contact when preparing the invoice - forget the contact and you are back at square one.).

    Thanks for the comprehensive and exhaustive idea around how contact and client details could be included when invoices are synched from XPM to Xero blue. As you may know there is a new platform (PartnerHub) which you may be aware of, and will be released fully in the near future. You may find that the issue is covered in the new experience. We will move this to Gaining Support so the community can get behind this add their votes and comments.

  18. Adding additional formatting options for reports so that we could fit reports to one page when exporting to PDF. Too many financials currently export with one or two line on the last page. This creates messy looking financials that are too many pages.

  19. Please can you make it possible to add manual transactions to the "tax statement" that will show up in the tax return.

    We often did this with MYOB, eg. adding a penalty that we know will be charged after the tax return has been filed, or changing a late filing penalty from $50 to $250 if the client's income is more than $100k (as this will be updated at IRD after the return is filed).

    At the moment it looks like we can only edit the pdf which is very disappointing...

    Thanks for adding this request to our Ideas Kathryn. We have looked at this with current NZ Tax compliance in mind and for transparency this is not something we are looking into at this time. We appreciate it is something others may see as beneficial so other users are able to vote in this.

  20. The Xero XPM system calculates GST for each task being billed, but it doesn’t have a total GST check at the invoice level. As a result, some invoices with round billed amounts—such as $30,000—end up with incorrectly rounded GST, for example, $2,999.99. Xero calculates GST on each line item of invoices and other transactions, rounding to the nearest cent. The total GST is then the sum of these individual line calculations, which can sometimes lead to small discrepancies in the overall GST amount.

    Hi Martin, thanks for sharing your idea about GST validation in XPM invoicing. It’s really helpful to hear how a total GST check could help prevent rounding discrepancies.
