XPM - Pre-fill PAYG Instalments report
In Xero Practice Manager, we can view the ATO prefill PAYG Instalment amounts for each client individually. Is it possible for XPM to create a report or export option that allows us to download the full ATO prefill PAYGI list for all clients at once?
15 votesHi Tanya, thanks so much for your feedback on PAYG Instalment reporting in XPM. We really appreciate you taking the time to share how a bulk export of ATO prefill data would help your practice.
We’ve reviewed your idea and moved it to Gaining Support, which means it’s now open for the community to vote on and add their own comments. If you’re able to share a bit more about your workflow, it might encourage others to jump in with their experiences too, and give the product team a clearer picture of the need.
We’ll keep you updated on any progress.

Practice tools | Staff - Ability to assign clients when inviting staff
Previously in Xero HQ you could invite a new staff member and immediately assign clients to them - This was efficient. Now the staff member has to accept the invite first before any clients can be assigned.
25 votesWe understand this is a feature practices may like to see. We'd like to get a gauge interest from beta participants that'd find this feature useful - Add your vote, share importance and any comments to share extra detail of how this would help your practice.

AU Tax - Bulk selection and status updates
Returns Management User Interface (UI) - "All" Tab Improvements/Customization
To improve handling returns by adding bulk selection and status update functionalities on the "All" tab of the Returns Management interface. Also, suggesting having a customizable UI to best fit our workflow preference.
Key Features:
Action Buttons
- Located in the table header, these buttons perform bulk actions such as "Approved", "Out to Sign", and "Sign". They remain disabled unless one or more return items are selected.Checkbox
- Each return item has an associated checkbox to allow selection. By default, these checkboxes are unchecked.Select All / Deselect All

As currently designed, there are dedicated state tabs e.g Draft, Completed Approved etc from which you can select all and perform bulk actions. This also provides a total of the items selected in the list header.
Bulk actions are generally relevant to the state a return is in - For example being able to Approve is only relevant to returns currently in a Draft state.
It'd be good to get more feedback of your workflow here and why you'd be wanting to perform these bulk actions from the All tab rather than the dedicated state tab?
I've created a couple of new ideas to track the interest in being…

AU Tax - Show/hide columns
Users have control over which columns are visible and the order in which they appear. This is managed through drag-and-drop functionality or by checking/unchecking column options.
3 votesHi everyone, we have started this idea off the back of the original post here so we can get an understanding of support for being able to show or hide columns on a user basis within AU Tax.
Being upfront, we don't have any plans for this at present but would like to get an idea of the interest through this idea.

Report Templates - Tier 3 Report update
Very disappointed to hear that you haven't considered how the new reporting standards for Tier 3 entities is going to effect the reporting templates i.e. the requirement to split grants into multiple sub-categories, which is only one area of the new reporting standards that needs to be expanded.
Would you be able to make this a high priority for the product team and provide a reasonable timeframe as to when this will be considered for further development as obviously we need to meet our obligations and your reporting mapping is no longer going to make this easy for us given…49 votesHi community, thanks so much for the great feedback so far. The changes to Tier 3 reporting standards - especially around grant categorisation are clearly important, and it’s great to see this idea gaining momentum quickly.
This request is now in the Gaining Support stage, so it’s on our radar for further consideration. If you’re using Tier 3 reporting, we’d love to hear more about what specific features or improvements would help you most. Your input really helps guide the product team’s priorities.
Please keep the votes and comments coming. We’ll be sure to share updates here as we learn more. Thanks again for being part of the conversation!

AU Tax - Set a default for the tax agent field
I am hoping it might be possible to create a default for the Agent setting. If this were possible, when we add new clients onto XPM, the Agent field would default to our Agent details, as we only have one Agent to select from.
15 votesThanks for sharing your idea on setting a default for the Agent field in Practice Manager, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We appreciate you explaining how this could streamline your workflow, especially when working with a single agent.
We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

Xero Tax - What if function
It would be very useful if Xero Tax have a What-If function to test different tax outcomes before finalising a return.
17 votesHi YiLing thanks for sharing this idea. Currently Xero allows the ability to use draft returns and the "Estimate" tab for basic scenario testing. For complex scenarios, it is recommended to use ATO calculators and compare results manually. We will move this idea to Gaining support and monitor for more traction from users.

NZ Tax - Transfer donation rebate to multiple years, tax types and IRD numbers
Having the option to transfer a donation rebate to multiple tax types, tax years and IRD numbers would be great. For example, transferring credit to terminal tax and also provisional tax or tax owing from a previous year.
28 votesHiya team, we do appreciate you taking your time to feedback and share support in this idea.
Having been reviewed by our product team we will be moving this to Not in pipeline.
Specifications on what transfers can be done for each tax return type are supplied by Inland Revenue(IR). For the Rebate Claim Form IR526, only one transfer directly to another tax payer is permitted.
With these limitations this is not an idea we will develop. If IR make changes around these specifications in the future this may be an idea we revise. Thanks

AU Tax - Add Rental Property schedule to Company Tax Return (CTR)
In the company return you have the ability to create a new schedule.
Specifically, A rental statement to be included here:19 votesHi everyone, thanks for raising this idea. We know rental income and expenses are a key part of tax for many businesses, and it would be super helpful to have a rental property schedule within the Company Tax Return (CTR) in Xero Tax.
At the moment, there aren’t any rental worksheets for companies in Xero Tax, because the ATO doesn’t accept rental schedules on a CTR through PLS. That means this part of the return needs to be managed outside the system — which we understand isn’t ideal.
That said, we can see this idea is already getting some traction, and it's now in the Gaining Support stage. If this would improve your workflow, feel free to vote or add a comment. It really helps the team understand what matters most to you.

AU Tax - Pull client date of death into return
It would be useful for the client date of death field to automatically be pulled into the relevant tax return if field to save manual look up and entry when entering client tax returns.
8 votesWe appreciate that with date of death now available as a field on a client record that some users would like to see this automatically pull through to the relevant tax return.
While we don't have direct plans of this right now we're keen to get a sense of interest in this from our partners in community.

Xero Tax(AU) - Cover letter Placeholders Estimated Division 293 Liability
It would be great to have a cover letter placeholder that alerted the client to the estimated Div 293 that would be payable (as the superannuation contributions worksheet) and that the ATO would issue a separate assessment. The note on the estimate is not prominent enough and easily missed by clients. Having it default on the letter would be another opportunity to make sure the client sees it.
7 votesThanks for sharing your thoughts on this idea. We appreciate you highlighting how important clear client communication is when it comes to Division 293 tax liabilities.

XPM (New experience) - Show full details of additional contacts on Client record
Enable full visibility of Contacts when accessing via Additional Contacts area in Client screen.
Currently, when we access a Contact via the Additional Contacts section of the Client screen, not all contact fields are displayed.
Furthermore, when editing or adding a new contact, we cannot edit or access all the contact details. We cannot add or edit Mobile numbers or custom fields for Contacts. To access these, we have to exit the Client screen and access Contacts separately via Clients > Contacts.
This adds a lot of extra steps that can be avoided by ensuring full visibility and full access…
12 votesThanks thanks for sharing this idea about improving contact visibility in the Client screen. We appreciate you taking the time to explain how streamlining access to contact details could help your workflow.

XPH - Detailed business structure when viewing client group
Prior to the new XPM update, viewing a group provided a detailed breakdown of each client's business structure. The new layout simplifies this into broad categories (individual, company, trust, partnership, other), meaning you now have to click into each client to see the specific details. For example, 'other' represents a range of options such as departing client, on hold due to non-payment, or a non-client entity. This makes it harder to understand a client's status at a glance. Reintroducing the full business structure breakdown would significantly improve efficiency by allowing users to quickly interpret each client's status without needing additional…
10 votesHi Hannah, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the business structure view in Xero Practice Hub. It’s helpful to understand how important it is to see clearer client details at a glance when you’re managing groups of clients.
Your suggestion around having a more detailed business structure breakdown makes sense, especially as broader categories like Other can cover a mix of different client situations.
We’ve now moved this idea to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for the community to vote and add comments. This helps us understand what’s most valuable to you, and we’ll keep you posted as things progress. If others would find this useful too, feel free to share your thoughts.

AU Tax - Hold selection across multiple pages
Items that are selected remain selected even when filters or search queries are applied. This ensures that selection is not lost when the view changes.
3 votesHi team, this idea has been created off the back of an original post here to get a better idea of the interest for being able to hold selections across status lists within AU Tax.
While we don't have immediate plans around this it would be good to gauge the wider interest in this from the community here. Thanks

Client - Add more relationship options
We have a number of Trust who now have "Special Trust Advisors" appointed by Deeds. I would like to be able to add in Special Trust Advisors as a relationship in trusts.
It would be really useful to be able to customise the relationship options in all business categories
4 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand you’re looking for more flexibility in how relationships between contacts can be recorded within Xero Practice Manager.
The suggestion is to add more relationship options, such as identifying roles like beneficiaries or corporate trustees, so practices can better capture specific client structures.
We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand the value of expanding relationship options.

XPM - Monthly Productivity Pie Chart
Currently the productivity pie chart on the home page only reports on a weekly basis. It would be great if the home page can add a 2nd productivity pie chart which is set to report on a monthly basis. Most accounting firms/staff have monthly productivity targets, so this is why it would be a wonderful way to track MTD productivity results instead of only weekly.

AU Tax - Show total Payable/ Refund amount on Activity Statement
The Activity Statements in Xero Tax need to have the total payable/refundable at the top of the screen like the Tax Returns do. It would be nice to see the result when you're on a different page than the summary page.
6 votesHi Rachel, thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.
We've opened this idea for the community to add their support. We'll monitor this space for more traction. Cheers!

ATO - Medicare data
Grab all ATO online prefill data. Why exclude the data that shows how many days hospital cover was covered? Why not provide all the data that is available on the portal prefill pintouts? (Including previous year deductions and occupation etc)
4 votesThanks so much for raising this and explaining how you’re using the ATO prefill data. We’ve logged your feedback and will move it into our Gaining Support process so the product team can consider it alongside other work. At this stage there are no planned changes to how Xero imports Medicare and ATO prefill data, but your input is really valuable in helping us understand where improvements would add the most value..

AU Tax - Non Depreciable asset to roll forward
Currently in Xero Tax, non-depreciable assets entered into the rental schedule do not roll forward into future income tax returns (ITRs), creating unnecessary manual data entry and inconsistency.
Suggested improvement: Add support to roll forward non-depreciable assets (such as land) within the rental schedule when generating the next year’s return to maintain asset continuity and save time.
