AU Tax - Add Rental Property schedule to Company Tax Return (CTR)
In the company return you have the ability to create a new schedule.
Specifically, A rental statement to be included here:17 votesHi everyone, thanks for raising this idea. We know rental income and expenses are a key part of tax for many businesses, and it would be super helpful to have a rental property schedule within the Company Tax Return (CTR) in Xero Tax.
At the moment, there aren’t any rental worksheets for companies in Xero Tax, because the ATO doesn’t accept rental schedules on a CTR through PLS. That means this part of the return needs to be managed outside the system — which we understand isn’t ideal.
That said, we can see this idea is already getting some traction, and it's now in the Gaining Support stage. If this would improve your workflow, feel free to vote or add a comment. It really helps the team understand what matters most to you.

XPM - Monthly Productivity Pie Chart
Currently the productivity pie chart on the home page only reports on a weekly basis. It would be great if the home page can add a 2nd productivity pie chart which is set to report on a monthly basis. Most accounting firms/staff have monthly productivity targets, so this is why it would be a wonderful way to track MTD productivity results instead of only weekly.

Practice Manager - Invoice Templates by Client Type
It would be really helpful if invoice templates could adjust automatically based on client type, instead of having to create and assign multiple templates manually.
For example:
1. Individuals and Partnerships would include the 'Attention' field, but not include the 'Contact Name' field
2. Company invoices would include the 'Attention' field, but not the 'Contact Name' field
3. Trusts, SMSFs, and Charities would include both the 'Attention' field and the 'Contact Name' fieldThis would save time, reduce errors, and ensure invoices are always addressing the legal entity correctly for each client type.

AU Tax - Hide account codes in imported COA in Xero Tax
When data is imported from Xero HQ or a client’s Xero ledger into Xero Tax, the system automatically appends the Chart of Accounts code to the account name e.g. “Sales (400), even when the underlying Chart of Accounts name field does not contain the code.
While this improves traceability, it creates unnecessary clutter in the tax return view and workpapers, especially where codes are not relevant for presentation to clients.
Users also cannot rename or hide the codes within the Xero Tax interface.

While this idea is not currently on our development roadmap, we are always reviewing feedback to help us shape our product priorities. As a workaround for now, you can use the existing data roll-over function for client shareholders and then manually adjust the details for non-client shareholders. We'll be in touch with another update if there is any change to the status of this idea.

XPM (New experience) - Show full details of additional contacts on Client record
Enable full visibility of Contacts when accessing via Additional Contacts area in Client screen.
Currently, when we access a Contact via the Additional Contacts section of the Client screen, not all contact fields are displayed.
Furthermore, when editing or adding a new contact, we cannot edit or access all the contact details. We cannot add or edit Mobile numbers or custom fields for Contacts. To access these, we have to exit the Client screen and access Contacts separately via Clients > Contacts.
This adds a lot of extra steps that can be avoided by ensuring full visibility and full access…

XPH - Detailed business structure when viewing client group
Prior to the new XPM update, viewing a group provided a detailed breakdown of each client's business structure. The new layout simplifies this into broad categories (individual, company, trust, partnership, other), meaning you now have to click into each client to see the specific details. For example, 'other' represents a range of options such as departing client, on hold due to non-payment, or a non-client entity. This makes it harder to understand a client's status at a glance. Practice Manager - Dropdown boxes should ALWAYS be searchable
One example.. editing Client details, there is a Title field, it is a dropdown box with heaps of options.
It should be possible to type something into the field to filter the results.

audit report of user activity in Xero Tax
To have a "history" tab on a client that would show when someone has made a change to something (an address, a phone number/client details) along with who would have archived a client on the system.
The history tab would be a great aspect for support hub team members so they can ask that person if there is an issue or to see a date and time that this has happened to then liase with the client.

Updating Multiple Addresses
The ability for XPM to show where a home/postal address has been used and action a bulk update has been removed. This was a standout feature of Practice Manager and it's removal has caused great annoyance at my firm. Please consider bringing it back!

Practice tools - General feedback on the new update
As a client who uses XPM every weekday, I wanted to provide some considered feedback on the most recent update.
I intentionally used the updated software for several weeks before writing this, to ensure my feedback was fair and based on real, day to day use. Unfortunately, despite giving it a genuine chance, the update has not met my expectations. In my experience, the software has become less efficient and more inconvenient to use compared to the previous version, which I found to be extremely well designed.

XPM - Sync updated client information via Xero to the ATO Portal
It would be good if we could update client info changes such as change of address or bank account changes directly in Xero that would then update on the ATO Portal. Having used this in another accounting package, it is an extremely efficient process that make sure the client info is updated at both sites. Making these changes directly through the ATO portal gives no (or very little) audit trail.

We've reviewed your suggestion to have client information updated in XPM, such as addresses or bank details, sync directly with the ATO Portal. This idea is now ready to gain support from other community members.

NZ Tax - Correct amount when provisional tax unpaid & provisional date has passed
If a client fails to pay the first installment of provisional tax why is it then added to the next installment and then P1 shows as nothing due. This is incorrect, the amount due at P1 is still the same (per the IRD), the debt at P1 has not moved to P2. What happens for client's who have RIT over $60k?

NZ Tax - Cross-Form Validation Check for NZ Taxable Income Figures
Box 29 of the IR10 should match the taxable income per the main income tax return (IR3, IR4, IR6, IR7, etc).
It would be helpful if when running an audit check on a tax return, XPM checks to see whether they match and notifies us when it does not match.

AU Tax - Non Depreciable asset to roll forward
Currently in Xero Tax, non-depreciable assets entered into the rental schedule do not roll forward into future income tax returns (ITRs), creating unnecessary manual data entry and inconsistency.
Suggested improvement: Add support to roll forward non-depreciable assets (such as land) within the rental schedule when generating the next year’s return to maintain asset continuity and save time.
