  1. It would assist to have discontinued tracking categories no longer showing on drop down menus for reports. We have several categories that are no longer in use but still show up on reporting options.

    Thanks for your idea and sharing in the forums here, Rachel.

    Consideration would need to be given to how this behaves before and after a report date or date range is set, incase running for an older period that would include transaction lines that were categorised to an archived tracking option.

    Being upfront, this isn't something we have any plans around for the time being, but we'll source interest from the community in this here, and share if there are any updates.

  2. The ATO has announced a Sharing Economy Reporting Regime Report (SERR) where all Sharing Economy businesses also known as 'EDP operator' (electronic distribution platform) also known as "Intermediary" are required to report twice a year. When will this Report be prioritised by Xero?

  5. I am a sole trader. I started using Xero to see how it helped with my taxes. The road has been... rocky. Largely because Xero largely ignores soletraders and their specific needs.

    For instance, Xero has no IR3 reports (NZ IRD) set up that we can use.

    And we can't have depreciation amounts at the same time as accounts in a report.

    We also can't limit which accounts appear in a report.

    For me, as a sole trader, I have wound up with personal and business expenses and income mixed in my bank accounts. I have also created personal accounts…

  6. We should be able to prepare and view future VAT returns where there are multiple unsubmitted returns. Ie. able to prepare multiple VAT returns for client approval at once. Currently, they have to be prepared and submitted before the next quarter's return is visible.

    Just a quick update that this idea is open for voting and comments from the wider community - please share your thoughts on how this would help you. We'll keep an eye on the support for this idea here.

    In the mean time, you may wish to use the “Looking to see VAT transactions for your own date range” option to run off reports for each return period, and then calculate the VAT from this report.

  7. Material only bills to be included on the CIS monthly return report to make it easier to reconcile the CIS materials nominal code to the report, confirming that all invoices have been included in the report.

  8. Essential for cash flow and projections, an annual report divided by month that includes source and base currencies.

    The "Account Transactions" report currently enables us to overview all accounts (Balance Sheet and P&L) in both currencies (source and base) but lacks a feature to display 12 months alongside each other.

    We're grateful for your engagement and letting us know how adding comparative options in the Account Transactions report could benefit you.

    This isn't something we have direct plans of right now, however we'll continue to gather community interest in this and share if there are any updates.

  9. Historical MTD VAT reports can't be seen after subscription downgrade!

    We have just realised that we have lost access to a client's MTD VAT reports after their Xero subscription was downgraded to ledger after de-registering for VAT and becoming dormant. We can see all their pre 2019 VAT reports under "Filed with HMRC" or "Published" but there is nowhere to view the subsequent MTD returns and the detail behind them. Not great when you are preparing a final set of accounts prior to dormancy.

  10. Need the report linked from dashboard's Total Cash In and Out to MATCH to the data shown on a report.

    Right now it opens up a Bank Summary report which includes transfers, but even after removing transfers from the equation, the numbers still do not match up on the cash flow widget. I can't verify the cash flow widget's numbers.

  11. Xero allows us to choose whether or not we show decimals in an Income Statement. We believe showing 2-decimal places on revenue and expenses to be unnecessary, but feel it is VERY important to show 2-decimals on the % of revenue. It is better to show .04% than .00% and .05% than 1%. We would like to see Xero separate the option of decimals between numbers verses percentages so our clients can have a clear grasp on their performance.

Come on Xero, this should be the flow already, the tab position after entering the date should go to the reversing date, we accountants enter a lot of manual journals that are reversed and it is a pain in the **** to have to mouse click on the auto reverse date to be able to enter the date...

    This is a easy fix, this is just the tab index in the page...

    Thanks for sharing this great idea, Leandro. We can see how changing the keyboard tab order on the Manual Journal screen would make entering reversing journals more efficient.

  14. We have 3 Belgian customers who are unable to used Xero as there is no connection with Belgium tax authorities, comparable with the HMRC in the UK for MTD VAT returns. If Xero truly want to be a global accounting solution, with Group structures having multiple geographical entities, they need to provide more global support/interaction to avoid clients moving away to alternative solutions.

  15. At present we are able to edit the layout of reports by rearranging, creating formulas, and grouping accounts. It would be INCREDIBLE to be able to customize the following.

    1) Group font (size and boldness only)- right now it defaults to a much larger BOLD font than the underlying accounts. It would be nice to choose these sizes and weights

    2) Customize the Group Total's Location - at present it shows only as an additional labeled row with the corresponding total. It would be a neater presentation to just have the group total show right in line with its main…

    Hi Michael we're grateful for your engagement here, however we ask that each post is contained to a single idea for a feature.

    We've identified that there are existing Xero Product Ideas relating to customising fonts and styles in reporting, and collapsing and expanding account groups. We've gone ahead and added your vote to these ideas, so that we can gather support and gauge interest for these ideas separately.

    We've also adjusted the title of this idea to reflect your suggestion to change the position of group totals in custom layouts. This idea can now gather support through votes and comments from others in the community.

  16. Business snapshot - link to default custom Profit & Loss Report

    We use a custom Profit & Loss Report which is default.
    Unfortunately the Business snapshot links to the standard xero Profit & Loss Report not the custom default Profit & Loss report.
    Can the Business snapshot be changed to link to the custom default reports?

  17. Budget Manager - Ability to Archive old budgets that relate to archived tracking categories.
    At present the budgets still appear within budget manager even though linked to an archived tracking category. It would be great that when you archive a tracking category that the budget is archived along with it or just the ability to archive old budgets in budget manager. At present you can only delete so you lose that history.

  18. I would like the GST AUDIT REPORT to be permanently updated, so that the transaction SOURCE FIELD would be included in the report. Otherwise the report should be customisable to include this and many other fields / options, so any of us professionals and internal accountants can extract what we need to review client / business BAS data easier, and lodge the BAS's quicker.   19. Attach Notes to the month column.
    I produce monthly P&L custom reports and add explanatory notes for large variations etc., when I add a new month column, the notes are stuck to the column number rather than the month, eg. I add January, but the variation notes I entered for December are now on the January column and I have to unattach them then reattach them to the correct column.

  20. For the line items in the Tracking Summary, please include a currency column! Historically this was available. Calculating commission now takes WAY longer. Seems like it should be an easy fix.
