New GST report - Add attachment icon to RHS
It would be helpful if you could see if an attachment was uploaded - you could consider showing an Icon outside the RHS of each line., as something Every GST checker needs to do, is make sure they have the appropriate attached Invoice so they can claim the GST. In Xero, it is laborious to have to open each line and check if their is an attachment.

Bank feed to account transactions match report
It would be good to have a bank feed to account transactions matching report which could show which bank feed entries have been reconciled to which account transactions without having to click into each entry. Something like the attached would be good to enable someone to spot mismatched bank entries
1 voteHi David, it's possible to run the Account Transactions report showing a 'Related account' column to see where transactions have been reconciled to. Would this suit what you're asking here?

Aged Turnover report for both Suppliers and Customers
The delivered response to my previous idea was no correct. The aged summary/detail reports only show what is outstanding.
The report I am requesting is to show the turnover, monthly across 12 months so that we can see what we have spent with a supplier each month for that year, but also what a customer has spent with us.9 votesAppreciate you creating a new idea to confirm what was missing within Xero's reports that you'd like to see, Les. Being open this isn't something we have any plans for right now, but we'll continue to track the interest through your idea here and we'll share if there are any updates planned.

Fixed Assets - Allow dates to be entered in any format
In most areas of xero you can enter dates in any format, however, in the 'new fixed assets' this errors unless its in the one format Xero accepts.
Please make the date fields similar to the other fields in Xero, allowing any format e.g. 1/1/24, 1.1.24, 1-1-24, 1 1 24, etc

Report - Add/remove highlighting from main drafts report page
We used to have the option to add/remove highlighting in a text box directly from the main page of draft reports, however this feature was removed and now we can only Bold/Italics/Underline/Bullet point, but no highlight.
It would be great if we could add this function back in, so we didn't have to go to 'Edit Layout' to change add/remove highlighting anymore.

Reporting - Add 'Add Page Break' on 'Insert Content' drop down
Please add the ability to be able to add a page break from the 'insert content' drop down in draft reports, rather than having to go into 'edit layout to do this.
Currently the only option on this 'insert content' drop down is to 'add text block'
2 votesAppreciate you raising this with us, Natascha. Being completely open, having checked in with our product team while it might be something we revisit further down the track, we don't have any plans for enabling adding of page breaks from the Insert Content drop down in the near term. We'll shift the status to Not planned so others seeing can also understand.

Aged Payables Report - Group by Planned Date
Allow the Aged Payables Report to be grouped by the Planned Date.
2 votesHi Alison, while there's no direct option to group by Planned date in the Aged Payables Detail report atm, if you change Group to None, once run you can click the Planned Date column header within the report to re-order by this field and it'll group all payable invoices by Planned Date.

Report Navigation - Return to previous page after drilling down
When using any report, when drilling down into more detail is great BUT there seems no way of then returning to the original report without re-running it after you have finished reading the drilled down info? Or have I missed something.
4 votesWould be good to get an example of a specific report you're drilling into, Lyn. You should be able to click the back button on your browser to return to the previous page / report you're on.
Alternatively, right click and opening the drill down figure in another tab may also be useful here 🙂

Reporting - Flag when actual Retained Earnings doesn't match to the report value
A flag which shows when the profit & loss figure plus brought forward retained earnings does not add up to the retained earnings on the reports. This is usually due to a mapping issue where a figure is causing a transposition error. It only seems to flag if you opt to include a statement of changes to equity. Seems like there should be a more obvious flag for this issue to ensure it is not missed.
Also perhaps a reconciliation between the profit & loss figure in the company accounts versus the Xero business, appreciate this is likely to be…3 votes -
Checking of Bank Reconcilaition
Would it be possible to have a report that shows the bank transactions and the bill/invoices that it was reconciled with? It's time consuming to check transactions one by one just to find a transaction that was incorrectly reconciled. Please see below example for your reference.
3 votesHi Marleth, the Account Transactions report can probably help you here.
You can customise the report to add a Related account column, where you could then run the report to view the bank account and related account each line was coded to. Does this solve your needs?

Fixed assets - Pooling assets for NZ version
Fixed Assets - Tax Pooling Depreciation. Australia has a feature to put assets into pools and calculate depreciation. This would be very useful in NZ

GST period settings - Allow for non-standard periods
When a client changes their GST taxable periods (e.g. 2-monthly to 6-monthly filing) they often need to file a return for a non-standard number of months to align with their balance date (e.g. 4-month GST return). It would be nice to be able to change the GST period settings in Xero to allow for the non-standard GST return to be filed directly from Xero.

Fixed Assets - Add 3-year depreciation schedule for Small Business Corporations in South Africa
Small Business Corporations (SBC's) can, under certain circumstances, depreciate assets in a 3-year schedule as follows:
- 1st year: 50%
- 2nd year: 30%
- 3rd year: 20%
See the attached document, under 4.2.
Currently, this is not possible (I checked with Support).
I expect this to work within Xero, as it is a regular tax rule in South Africa.
Adding this schedule for South Africa would be extremely useful and important, as we now have to do the depreciation outside of Xero.

Reporting - Include Draft invoices and Purchase Orders in the Sales by Item report
It would be great to have an option to run a sales report by item which includes draft invoices, delivery dockets, and purchase orders as well.
For example, I tried to run a sales report on qty of each product sold for the financial year to date and realised this information was inaccurate as we had sold a significant qty as draft invoices (using draft invoicing in lieu of delivery docket functionality), these products were not included in the sales report.

Report templates - Add Project reports
Ability to add project financials rerporting into an advisor template report
Being able to build a management report template that includes project financials seems like a no-brainer. but you can't do it at template level. You have to start with the existing template for a managmeent report and build a report from scratch for each client.
You can't even take an existing template and add in a project report.3 votes -
AU Tax - Withholding tax on interest income for foreign resident entities
Create a tax code/rate which we can apply to interest income to withhold 10% tax for foreign resident entities and this amount is automatically populated to the Activity Statement at item W3.

Aged receivable summary - Include prepayments/deposits for future invoices.
For the Aged Receivables it would be helpful to know what customers owe us as well as what we owe them. We take deposits for future invoices and they don't show on the Aged REceivable Summary.
6 votesPerhaps the Receivable Invoice Summary or Detail reports would accommodate your needs here? Omitting the aging periods this report can be filtered to only show the Status and Source(Receivable Prepayment, Receivable Invoice etc.) of transactions you'd like to see.

Aged receivables summary - Add due date
Could we please add the 'Due Date' option to the Aged Receivables Summary Report. I love the simplicity of this report versus the Detailed report but unlike the detailed report, there is no option to add the due date.
1 voteThanks for the feedback, Jodi. When you say you'd like to add the Due date I'm guessing this would be as a column to the report? One thing that would make this tricky is where you have multiple due dates for a customer with multiple invoices in the period the reports being run - what date would you expect to show here?

Reporting - Consistency in the default naming convention for dates
I know this is not critical for the reporting accuracy of Xero within, but it would be a great help to those who extract many times a report from Xero and have multiple clients handling. I hope Xero Support can find ways to be consistent in their naming convention by default. And not overriding names thru Report layouts. Thanks!
6 votesAppreciate sharing your thoughts on date conventions used across reports in Xero, Danmark. While there's standardisation across the way dates are shown across Xero, there can be slight differences based on region, as well as the period being reflected.
For example all regions excepting US will show date format as Date Month Year, where-as US will be formatted as Month Day, Year.
When Xero reports for a general period like an entire month or year this is abbreviated to the shortest date format that represents that period e.g June 2025 or 2025 respectively, however when running a report for a singular 'as at' date the entire date is shown such as 13 June 2025.
While I appreciate it doesn't mean a change to the formatting that you're requesting here, hopefully this sheds light on where date formatting may differ and gives more assurance that there's a structured approach to how…
