  1. Appologies in advance for my frustration.

    Are Xero considering providing a Gender Equity report in the future?
    I raised a case for our HR Dept last year and the answer from Xero was no.

    If any community member has any short cuts on gathering this info, please respond to this post.

    Thank you for suggesting a gender equity report for payroll. We recognise that many of you currently spend significant time manually merging multiple exports to get these insights.

    Whether we build a dedicated equity report or enhance existing reports with gender columns and advanced filtering, our goal is to streamline your workflow.

  2. We are in the process of organizing our client list for Audit Shield and like many other accounting firms we need to assign our clients a Turnover category. Currently Xero informs me there is no report I can run that will list the clients and their turnover for me to easily identify which category to assign to the client for audit purposes.

    A report that shows the client, their income/turnover and the possibility to group and total buy the Client Group would be amazing and save so much unnecessary admin time.

  3. Finalise Year End
    Can we have an option (just like finalising the GST returns) where we can finalise the year, and then later on print a report with any changes made since? The lock dates are not the solution, because they can be unlocked and relocked and there is no detail of changes made.
    If we could "finalise" a year when the client has signed off accounts or tax returns, then if anyone inadvertently edits or changes coding we can see that.

Bank reconciliation - A report that will show each bank transaction and then which invoice it has been reconciled against, as a way of having a quick way to check something has been reconciled incorrectly. Currently, the only way is to view each transaction through the account transaction report.

    Good to hear you're aware of how you can run the Account Transactions report to view this information, Catherine - Is there a reason or something missing from this report that would help you when reviewing transactions? 

  5. DEAR XERO. CAN YOU PLEASE CHANGE THE GST AUDIT REPORTS SO THAT THEY SHOW THE ACTUAL NARRATION THAT IS ON THE BANK STATEMENT INSTEAD OF THE PAYEE NAME. WHEN RECONCILING TRANSACTIONS XERO ADDS IN A SUGGESTED PAYEE NAME WHICH OFTEN GETS ACCEPTED, OFTEN ITS INCORRECT. THIS IS THE DETAIL WHICH SHOWS ON THE GST AUDIT REPORT. IF I AM CHECKING THE REPORT I NEED TO SEE WHERE THE ACTUAL PAYMENT WENT, FROM THE BANK STATEMENT - NOT WHERE SOMEONE HAS INADVERTENTLY SAID IT WENT WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT BE CORRECT.   6. Hello, across the board of GST xero users, are you able to make a pop up show on a companies Dashboard notifications. That tells them a GST period has ended that they can start working on their GST now, instead of getting notifications late or close to due date.

  7. I've noticed when an account gets a negative balance (such as an asset) that the balance sheet moves it to liabilities. I also noticed that, although I put "Other Income" at the end of the account list (with a account number of 7000) it still shows up in the income section. Proper accounting reports show "Other Income" and "Other Expense" at the bottom of the balance sheet. Additionally, if an asset account gets a negative balance for some reason it should NOT be moved to liabilities. Please fix this.

    Would be nice to be able to auto populate the net profit into new reports as older report packs did.

    The older report packs had a net profit before tax / net profit after tax field option how has an "upgrade" to new report lost this feature?

  10. Support Quick Method of GST/HST tax calculation for Canadian small business. Small business corporations in Canada have an option of so called Quick Method of GST/HST tax calculation that is based on a marginal percentage from the sales revenue amount instead of full balance of taxes collced and paid. Many small businesses choose to use QM because it frequently and significantly (upt to 30%) reduces GST/HST taxes payable.   11. In reports - Be able to make formulas from individual rows / accounts not just "columns, group totals or formula rows". I have attached an example of the work around required to get Gross Profits for hospitality split into Wet (Booze) and Dry (Food). It adds 8 lines and makes the report unwieldy. I would love to to more interesting formula. And not have to export to Excel or other programs.

  12. It would be great if the Activity Statement Transaction reports included the Sales Invoice number in addition to the Reference field. The old full BAS report used to show the Sales Invoice number as the Reference field on the report.

    We use simPRO for Invoicing and when the data is imported the Job No/Order Number is imported into the Reference field in Xero but we sometimes issue multiple invoices per job so the Invoice number is much more relevant as a reference.

  13. The mandatory update to using the new Reports in Xero from 31st July 2023 means the old version of reports will cease. This includes the much used Trial Balance report as accountants like myself tend to start from there when reviewing quarterly and annual work.

    I notice the following list of issues with the New Report for Trial Balance:

    1 - You can bookmark the old TB report and use this bookmark across clients. Also bookmark can be changed to show a particular date too i.e. 31st March. Bookmarking the new report always takes you to same client you initially…

  14. Xero Expenses - Currently there is no report to get information on expense claims needs approving. (by staff member, period etc) It would be useful to have a report which can be filtered rather then logging in to screen and view all. Thanks!

  15. I deleted and voided invoices for a reason. I don't want to see them again, yet they show up by default on a number of reports. This is in addition to making the invoice number unusable when invoices are voided. None of this makes sense to me and I shouldn't need to make a custom version of every report that seems to included voided/deleted data by default.

  17. An updated, functional VAT reconciliation report.

    The existing VAT reconciliation report isn't particularly useful. It has to be populated manually and the figures that do populate automatically can't be drilled down into. Not helpful.

    VAT reconciliation aren't really a problem for us as we can use the Detailed Account Transactions report to identify the transactions posted directly to the VAT account i.e. transactions that have a category of VAT, whether it be a VAT payment, VAT on imports or just simply a miscoding by the client.
