  1. It would be a massive help if you could click on the figures on the CIS suffered report to see which customer invoices make up the report figures. Clients often ask me which invoices are included and I have to manually work out where the figures come from

    Hi all, wanted to share a workaround here for those who aren't already aware.

    You can run the Account Transactions report on a cash basis and if you filter it by the CIS Labour Income or CIS Asset account, you can see the invoices which have been included in the CIS Suffered report.

    We don’t have any plans in the near term to expand functionality on the CIS Suffered report. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

  2. A aged report that will show the year end balance but can also update this to remove for payments that have been made/received post year end (something that can be done on Sage and is a very useful tool)

  3. Now that we can add equations, I'd like to see Xero add non-financial data for use in calculations. Specifically, I'd like to add a number that changes each month (number of clients). This will allow me to calculate the revenue per client. I would also like to add the number of clients lost and clients gained so I can calculate the churn rate and customer lifetime value (important to use in making decisions on marketing spend).

  4. Having the option to include a digital signature in the report templates, the ability to paste an image into the text section would suffice for this. Useful for the statement of disclaimer where the firm needs to sign off every report. Currently the only way to do this is by exporting the report to a PDF manager and pasting the signature in.

  5. For the new format of the Profit and loss report, only show the tracking categories that actually have a balance. Therefore do not show with nil balance.
    Currently have to adjust the report to remove the relevant columns which is time & $.

    The old version did this automatically!

    Thanks for your feedback on this idea, community. We appreciate you sharing how important consistent Profit & Loss formatting is for your workflows.

    As noted by some, currently you can export the report to Excel in order to make adjustments outside Xero as needed.

    To confirm, currently, if a tracking option doesn't have transactions in the period, there won't be a column for that option and there isn’t a way to show it on the report.

    Being open, we don’t have any plans for changing the current behaviour and capabilities of tracking columns within the Profit & Loss report. We value your feedback and will keep this in mind as we evaluate future reporting enhancements.

    That said, there are a few comments within the thread that reference the ability to show accounts that have a nil balance - Earlier this year we released an option within multiple reports to enable…

  6. An Information message to advise implications of editing the "Account Type" when posting a bill for a Fixed Asset.
    "If an approved bill or spend money transaction is edited, and the account code is changed to one with a Fixed Asset account type - a draft asset won't be created". ie- it does not automatically update the transaction to include the item on the fixed asset schedule. Unless the item is manually added to the fixed asset register, it will not be included in subsequent depreciation runs.

    Thanks for the ongoing support in this idea, team. I want to be upfront that we don't currently have any plans for adding Discuss to reports however we'd like to keep tracking the support of this with community here, and will share if there are any changes to update you of.

  8. Supplier and customer ledger - to be able to pull a supplier/ customer ledger, instead of pulling reports per contact. This would be ideal if it can be pulled for a certain period, to see all suppliers'/ customers' opening balances, movements and closing balances per supplier/ customer, all on one document.

  11. Modify the Budget Manager so that it accepts 2 decimal places and does not round to the nearest full dollar.

    Rounding all figures means that the Net Profit amount is incorrect which means the budgets are incorrect.

  13. Enable the Payable Invoice Detail report to total the invoices for each contact. At present the report totals the GST component of each contact's invoices, which I find not at all useful. It would be possible to export the report to Excel, and calculate the totals in that format, but this would be time-consuming.

    I use the payable invoice detail report to get approvals for payment. It would be useful for the person doing the approving to see how much each contact's invoices add up to.

    Hi team, returning to the idea here I wanted to check if this is still an issue? With the Payable Invoice Details report you'll find you can 'Group by' Contact and there are options to include Balance, Gross Tax and Net columns within the report so you can get a full break down and totals for each. 

  14. With the old reports you were able to run the report and then click into one of the GL codes to look at the data. There was then a link "back to P&L / Balance sheet report" which took you back. This is missing in the new report which is very time consuming as it seems you have to start again with running and customising your report.

  15. It would be incredibly helpful if 'Quantities' & ' Unit Price' were included as column options in the Account Transactions report.

    This way one can quickly review the quantity & price of each entry without having to drill down into each individual entry. It would also provide a total quantity and average unit price for the given period.

    The example that I am referring to is on a farm business where we would like to review the tonnes of crop sold and the price.

  16. Stop Xero from automatically changing the Tax Rate of an Account when the Account Type is changed. It's so annoying. Offer/suggest, sure. But don't do it by default. No, I do not want to change Wages & Salaries from BAS Excluded to GST on Expenses just because I change it from Direct Costs to Expense/Overhead or vice versa. Such a dumb default setting.

  17. I would like to send departmental P&L/spend reports to my managers. For eg, send all marketing spend to that team showing the act v bud figures AND all the transactions making up the actual fig
    I reckon it would be best to add the Act and Bud figs at the top of the account transactions report for a particular chart of accounts

    Appreciate your feedback around how more visuals in reporting would aid when presenting business information to stakeholders.

    Though not direct within the Management report - Xero Analytics provides visual tools to assess and get insight into your business with Short term cash flows and Business Snapshot.

    Alongside this, our reporting team have also started release of a graph in the 'Expenses by Contact report' - It's available if you're running a US organisation atm, and will be with other regions soon 

  20. Currently if you've created a custom report & then select (for eg) the Budget Variance report from the side-bar, all the customisations you've created disappear. We create these customisations for good reason & rarely do we only want to see the one report in that format, so customisation should carry through to the side-bar reports.
