Reporting: Aged Receivables - Add NZBN number
I would like to produce an Aged Receivable custom report that includes the NZBN number which is held in a contact file. While I can manually pull two reports and manipulate them in Excel, there is always room for error doing it this way.
3 votesThanks for sharing this idea. We appreciate you explaining how including NZBN numbers in the Aged Receivables report could streamline your workflow.

Reporting - Account Transactions report 'Showing Items' list is miscounting
From the P&L report when opening a specific income/expense account, the list of transactions under that account shows at the bottom "Showing items" number, this number includes the first line (title) and last two totals, which can be misleading if one wants to count the number of transactions.
I'd suggest the "showing items" number to only indicate number of transactions.2 votesHi Tamer, thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.
We've reviewed your idea and can appreciate that the items list can be misleading. We're opening up this idea to gain more support from the community. We'll monitor this space for more traction in the meantime.

Quotes - Ability to send delivery note upon quote acceptance
A way of converting quotes accepted into order acknowledgements and / or delivery notes before creating the Invoice would be helpful. I use a work around with templates, but it shows prices which you don't really need or want on delivery notes and the attachment PDF is still labelled as a quote.
14 votesHi Rob thanks for sharing this here. We can see how having an order acknowledgment or delivery note upon quote acceptance could be useful to have. We will open this idea up to get more support from the community. Just to add on to your last two points, you can edit the way the PDF attachment shows. You can also create DOCX templates, so that the price does not show. If you require further support with this, please do not hesitate to raise a case with our support team.

Reporting - Matrix view for Invoice and Bill activity by contact per month
Hi Xero Product Team,
I’d like to share a reporting idea that I think would add a lot of value for finance teams who need a quick, complete ledger-style view of activity—beyond what Aged Debtors/Creditors currently provides.
The gap today
Aged Debtors and Aged Creditors are very useful, but they focus on what is still outstanding (unpaid/part-paid). There isn’t an easy way to see all invoices or bills (paid, unpaid, and partially paid) in a single monthly overview, broken down by customer/supplier.
Proposed report (Invoices)
A new report / analytics view that displays a matrix:
Rows: Customers (one under the…

Reporting - Show daily/monthly Income target graph
Hi, i think for a team who have targets each week, it would be good to have a report that is a bar graph with the income so far that day, week, month with a line across the bars coming up with a line for average and one for target. The only report that comes cross i could find gave to much info as this is for our admin/coordinators and they dont have access to all the financials they only need the income for the day/week and see if they have met the target.
1 voteHi Keith, thanks for sharing your idea here. We've moved this idea to gain more support from the community team. Now other users can also vote and add their comments on this idea. We'll monitor this space for traction.

Reporting - Show date/time stamp when report was run in header of spreadsheet
Currently, It prints TITLE, COMPANY, DATE/ PERIOD. Please can you add to DATE/ PERIOD 'as @ TIME OF PUBLISH'. This would solve issues where I am looking at two identical spreadsheets but am unable to tell which is up to date.
6 votesThanks for sharing this suggestion — we can see how adding “as at time of publish” to the DATE / PERIOD would make it much easier to tell which published spreadsheet is the most up to date when reports look otherwise identical.
We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep tracking interest and feedback from our community. While we can’t make any promises about if or when this might be added, the support and examples shared here help our product team better understand the impact and usefulness of this change 💥
If there are any updates to share, we’ll post them here.

AU Tax - Confirmation for lodging tax return
On the 'to file' tab when you click into a client's tax return there's a blue button that says 'File' right next to the three dots that you would click to suspend a return. I believe this is too easy to accidently click and can lead to tax returns being lodged on accident. If there was a pop up that says something like 'Would you like to lodge now' that would be a good safeguard.
1 voteAppreciate how this could be done by mistake, Amber. Thanks for sharing your idea in the forums here. While this isn't something we have plans around at present we'l keep an eye on the interest your idea grows and be sure to share if there are any updates.

Manual Journals - Journal entry number listed
On the list of manual journals, the journal entry number should be listed, you need to click on each one to find the specific journal entry number. Why is this not displayed?
31 votesThanks for your feedback on displaying journal entry numbers in the manual journals list. We appreciate you highlighting how this could improve your workflow.

Sales Tax Report (SG) - Show invoice totals rather than itemised
We would like to request that the Sales Tax report for each invoice be shown as a single total amount in one bill, without itemizing the individual items in the Sales Tax report.
This format will help us track and reconcile invoices more easily. When the Sales Tax is itemized, it becomes difficult for us to monitor and match the invoices accurately.
We appreciate your support and look forward to your assistance on this matter. Please let us know if you need any further information from our side.
5 votesHi community, appreciate raising this idea in the forums here and we'll start to get an understanding of the interest around this.
As tax can differ per line of an invoice this audit report provides a detailed account of the transactions lines that make up your tax and we want to be open that we don't have plans around changing this view right now.
In the meantime, for reconciliation purposes you may find running the Receivable Invoice Summary report useful.

Reporting - User experience | Resize report column width to scale with window size
I'm currently doing superannuation for a client, having finalised their last payrun for the month. I've got the superannuation accruals report up on screen, so I can match that to what I'm paying, and to the bill in which I allocate each employee and direct contractor's super to the project they're working on.
Because I need to have multiple windows active with pieces of information being cross-referenced, I've got the superannuation accruals report open in a half-screen window. I noticed that the width of the report is wider than the window, so I removed some of the columns. As I…
1 voteHi Freya thanks for your feedback on this UI. I can see that the report(s) does not automatically scale it to the size of the window. We've moved this idea to gain more support and will monitor this for more traction.

Report Templates - Add letters in Numbered Heading Section
Would love to see it as a feature so that we can add letters in Numbered heading section so we can link notes.
2 votesHi team, appreciate coming into Xero Support after our recent update here and apologies for any confusion.
To confirm, there is no way to add letters into 'Numbered heading' atm.
An option for now may be to add letters to the front of your schedule heading, however appreciate this this is a little different from the formatting you're trying to achieve here.
While this isn't something we have direct plans for right now, we'll start to get a sense of the wider interest from others in this here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

Bank Feeds - Include description for bank accounts
For bank accounts - it would be good to have the contact and description concatenated as for other accounts. This way account lines could easily be matched.

1099 - Send email alerts for failed TIN matches
Email alerts for failed TIN Matches.
We have not received any alerts or confirmation emails on 1099 filing status. Having to login and check each client is cumbersome. Being able to see statuses on filing in one place would be great.4 votesThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We will move this idea to gain more support from the wider community as I'm sure other users would like to see this change. We'll monitor this space for more traction.

Journal Report - Show Tax rate
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
With the old style and the new style, there doesn't appear to be a way to show the journal with GST rate - it only shows the total GST as an extra line at the bottom of the journal.
And while I'm requesting features that'll never be implemented, why not offer the ability to show journals Gross of GST (as well as the GST rate).
2 votesThanks for sharing your idea, we appreciate you explaining how important it is to see tax rates at the line level.

Profit & Loss - Multicurrency report to use original transaction values
Can we have the ability to run a P&L report using the original transaction values rather than calculated values based on the exchange rate that's been set. For example, my base currency is GBP but we need to report the P&L for a division in Spain in Euros based on actual cash figures. The multi-currency P&L report in Xero allows me to select to produce the report in Euros but for some reason it calculates all the figures based on the fixed exchange rate that has been entered rather than using the original / actual Euro transaction figures entered. So…

Xero Tax (UK) - Link between personal and partnership tax to import individual partner profits into personal tax
It would be useful to be able to automatically import the individual partner profits from partnership tax directly in the partnership schedule within personal tax. This would increase efficiency and reduce the likelihood of errors.
6 votesThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We appreciate you sharing how a direct link between partnership and personal tax returns could support your workflow. This idea is now in Gaining support status, which means our community team have reviewed it and it's open for community support through votes and comments. We'd love to hear from others about how this could benefit your practice, so please continue to share your feedback and vote if this resonates with you.

Reporting | Profit & Loss - Ability to change headings in the report according to industry specific terminology
The statutory profit and loss account includes the wording "cost of raw materials and consumables" in the Cost of Sales section. This makes no sense for my clients in the service industry. Can we not have a tag named "Cost of Sales" or "Purchases" which is more generic and applies better to direct expenses attributable to sales in the service industry?

Reporting - Ability to hide Formula Rows in reports if the result is zero
It would be great to be able to hide formula rows in reports where the result is a nil balance. Currently we get multiple repetitive total lines on reports when there is no activity cluttering up the reports unnecessarily.
5 votesHi Kerrin, thanks for raising this. It’s easy to see how automatically hiding custom formula rows with no activity would make reports cleaner and easier to read.
Without this option, reports can feel cluttered. That often means sharing something that looks busier than it needs to be, or exporting the report just to remove empty rows manually—extra work that defeats the purpose of using the report builder.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can better understand interest in more report-level formatting options. If you’re able to comment with the specific reports where this would be most useful, it’ll help other users understand the use case and help the idea gain traction.
