  1. I would like to be able to see sales totals on a simple table on the Xero app. I simply wish to see monthly sales totals as well as year totals per selected year. This helps me to get a quick snapshot of how my sales are increasing or decreasing, and also to view sales trends by month.

    Thanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Idea's, Domenico. As you may have seen there is the Total Cash In and Out graph on the dashboard of the app. The dark blue bars show the total amount of cash that’s come into your bank account per month, and the light blue bars show the cash that’s gone out. 

    Appreciate there's no way to show this only based on invoices, or for a year view atm.

  2. It would be really useful to see the contact name on the History and Notes report.
    We use this report to track bank account changes but we also check newly added supplier bank account details. Seeing which contact each line relates to would help us group them and know if an 'Edited - Bank.....' relates to the same contact as a 'Created' so we don't need to go into each line

  3. Provide an option to allow standard users to publish bank reconciliation reports, but not all reports.

    As a Xero Advisor, I don't always perform all of the accounting functions for my clients. For some clients we mutually prefer to have them perform the bank reconciliation process each month. This is a standard internal control that isn't always outsourced. Requiring publishing bank reconciliation reports at the Advisor level user seems overkill and limits how advisors can manage levels of service assumed by the advisor and their clients.

  4. Suggestion for Enhancing Note Visibility in Xero

    When writing notes for any invoice, bill, or manual journal in Xero, the notes are typically placed in the History column. However, this makes them less visible to someone new who might review these documents. If these notes could be added as sticky notes at the top corners of the page, they would be more prominent and could help avoid potential mistakes caused by missing information.     While this isn't something we have plans for atm, I'll update if there is any change around this to share.

  6. It would be useful to be able to have a foreign currency budget and then be able to report against the P&L in the same foreign currency.

  8. To allow a box on the dashboard to show a running BAS/PAYG/GST total so we can get an idea of where are finances are up to coming up to these payment deadlines. Would be helpful for small business.

  9. I understand the new journal report can add a column of "Posted by". it would be great if we can also add the "created by" and "edited by" in the report. We want to see a list of creator, editor and poster for each journal (with Journal details).

    Hi Esteon, you're right that it's not currently possible to Filter by the Related account column atm. It'd be good to understand what you;re trying to look at when running this report atm.

    Rather than filter by related account, could you select the Account that you'd be looking to filter by and then click the Related account header to order the transactions by the account they came from?

  11. MANNUAL JOURNAL

    Please add a reference column for us to fill up so that posted journal are document in sequence number. The journal ID is actually act as audit trail Instead of journal reference number.

    Also, pleas please allow journal entries to be able to post entries to bank...its such a miserable, while journal entries supposingly existed to pass adjustment but doesn't allow pass entries....

  12. While reviewing the short-term cash flow report, a client may realise that there is a bottleneck and spread out some bill payments by changing the payment dates. It would be great to be able to do this from within the Short-Term Cashflow (on the same screen that the issue is identified) to see the results immediately and the improvement in cash flow.

  13. Report to display how one (of several) bank accounts was reconciled by another user. Items to include Who (Contact) What (Account Selected and Description) Division and Tax Rate.

    This is to ensure the items were reconciled correctly, particularly overseas payments where NO GST must be selected. To check work of admin.

  15. A report to show transactions that have been posted including the account code and the projects that the transactions have been assigned to with data parameters.

    We reconcile the sales, direct costs and gross profit amounts from the project summary report to the same amounts in the profit and loss report but currently there is no way to identify differences when they arise. The above report will really be helpful!

  16. Will there be something developed (in the works) on sharing the mapping report with clients, so they know which codes are lumped together in the P&L and Balance Sheet? This seems to be a common inefficiency where they ask the question and we have to break down each code and manually provide the info, as they don't have access to our reporting templates / edit layout function.   17. Ability to set default reporting options (default to show account numbers, specify no. of results per page, your own date preferences), along with favourited reports - but have it linked to your Xero user profile rather than the client's file.

    I work on multiple files a day and don't want to change their file settings - but manually changing to my preferred reports every time the page refreshes is exhausting.

  18. Short term cash flow projection, please can you update it to show bills with future dated payments?

    Once our suppliers bills are in for the month, we often set bank payments up for them for their due date so that we don't' have to keep remembering to make payments. If we mark them up with a future payment date, they are removed from the cashflow forecast. It would make much more sense if they appeared in the cashflow on the date they have been set to pay.

  19. We need a report that is cash basis and can have number of items sold during a time period. This report also needs revenue totals and allow a tracking category. Essentially this is to produce a report to determine Royalties that are due on some products that are sold.

  20. In the old Xero reports as part of the management report, it was possible to run a report that showed month by month actuals for the FY to date then the budget month by the month for the rest of the financial year to give a full year forecast.

    However, in the new Xero reports, this functionality has gone. Try and write my own report but the dates don't update automatically regardless of the reporting date you select (as confirmed by a Xero specialist)

    So I can write a report that shows 4 columns - Jan - Apr actuals, then…
